Chapter 179 Apologizing to You
"No way, this can't be happening," Jenny blurted out. "How could he be the boss? He's just Kaitlyn's unemployed brother-in-law."Last night, he was scared out of his wits by Mr. Collins and the others. If it weren't for Gary coming to his rescue with a million, he'd probably be limping right now."
"There's no way he could be the new boss!"
She thought, 'I don't want to believe it, and I refuse to believe it! A son-in-law who lives with his wife's family should be good for nothing. It would be blasphemy if he had any talents.
'Besides, he's Kaitlyn's brother-in-law. I won't let her surpass me.'
Hearing Jenny mention the million dollars, Gary felt speechless. Others might not know, but he knew exactly what that money was for.
"Believe it or not, James is the boss," Kelsey said coldly. "Whether legally or in actual control, Mr. Williams calls the shots at BH Pharmaceuticals."
Still in disbelief, Gary picked up the phone to check with his contacts.
Soon, his face turned pale.
The restructured BH Pharmaceuticals Group had already completed the equity transfer, and the big boss was indeed James.
Seeing Gary's reaction, Jenny knew it was true.
"Hello, Mr. Williams!"
"Mr. Williams, sorry for any offense earlier. Please forgive us."
"We were out of line."
At that moment, a crowd of managers and supervisors flocked to James, their faces plastered with fake smiles as they tried to curry favor.
"Mr. Williams, we're ready to accept any punishment you see fit."
Several attractive female employees also approached, looking shy and demure.
Gary and Jenny, on the other hand, remained silent. Though regret flickered in their eyes, it was overshadowed by their anger and the unbearable tension they felt.
They thought, 'Why James? Why does it have to be James?'
If it were anyone else, they wouldn't feel this bad.
James waved his hand to quiet everyone, then stepped forward and faced the dozens of BH Pharmaceuticals executives.
"I'm here today mainly to get familiar with the company and all of you.
"Additionally, I have three announcements.
"First, the company's management will still be fully handled by Ms. Green and Ms. Knoll. Unless it's a major issue, I won't be involved. They fully represent my will.
"Second, Ms. Green told me last night that the company's development is going well and future profits will grow significantly. So, I'm giving everyone a 30% salary increase. If you perform well by the end of the year, I will reward you with 10% of the company's shares."
The room erupted in cheers.
A 30% raise was a significant boost, easing the financial pressure for both executives and staff alike. And a 10% share allocation was a reward worth billions.
The excitement was palpable, with shouts of praise for the chairman's wisdom and leadership ringing through the room.
After the cheers died down, James scanned the room and fixed his gaze on Gary.
Seeing James look at him, Gary felt a chill down his spine and broke into a cold sweat. He knew James was here for revenge!
However, he didn't beg for mercy and still held his head high, showing a strong front.
He had some backing and wasn't someone James could easily bully.
"Third, Gary is fired for poor conduct." James waved his hand. "Also, conduct a thorough review of the employees he recommended to eliminate any improper transactions."
Kelsey respectfully replied, "Yes!"
"You're firing me?" Gary was stunned, then furious. "What right do you have to fire me?"
James sneered, "As the big boss, I can't fire a PR manager?"
Kelsey acted swiftly. "Security, escort him out."
She had long been displeased with Gary but had to tolerate him due to her unstable position. Now that James had spoken, she naturally kicked him out.
Gary shouted at Skylar, "Ms. Green, I've bled and sweated for this company. You can't let him fire me."
Jenny also shouted, "Yes, Ms. Green, Gary has a good relationship with you. You can't just ignore him."
"Relationship?" Skylar was indifferent. "What relationship do I have with him?"
Jenny stammered, "He has a life-and-death relationship with you. He made a casual comment to Kelsey, and you took it to heart, making her top assistant."."
"Life-and-death relationship? Gary, who do you think you are? Who gave you the courage to spread such rumors?" Skylar's face turned cold. "Get him out of here."
"I'm not accepting this. I'm going to file a complaint." Gary picked up his phone and shouted, "I'm going to sue you all."
"Suit us if you like." Skylar was unmoved. "Security, take him out."
Several burly security guards rushed in and roughly dragged Gary out.
"Get out!" Gary punched and kicked, pushing the security guards away, then shouted at James, "You ungrateful punk! I saved you last night, and now you're repaying me with this?" You'll regret this. I'll make sure you do. You're going to regret this. All of you are! You're just a company boss!"
His fury was unrestrained and exaggerated, treating the past night's intervention as his personal triumph.
At this moment, several white Hummers drove up and stopped in front of BH Pharmaceuticals.
The car doors opened, and a dozen young men got out, with Sebastian, his head wrapped in bandages, in the middle.
Jenny instinctively exclaimed, "Mr. Collins!"
Skylar squinted, looking more serious. She clearly knew what kind of person Sebastian was and wondered why he was here.
"Mr. Collins, you're just in time."
Gary's eyes lit up when he saw this, and he immediately ran to Sebastian, shouting, "This guy offended you last night. I'm no longer covering for him. Do whatever you want to him. Don't worry about showing any respect to Mr. Robinson."
He sneered at James, "You're finished without my protection."
Jenny thought to herself, 'James is finished. Although he's the company boss, he's no match for Mr. Collins.'
Many female employees shared this sentiment.
At this moment, Gary pointed at James. "Mr. Collins, don't hold back. Show him who's boss."
Sebastian slapped Gary, swelling his mouth.
Gary, holding his face, asked in confusion, "Mr. Collins? Why did you hit me? You should hit him."
Sebastian responded with four more slaps, the sound echoing loudly, "Idiot, who are you to shout at James?
"Beat him up!"
The group of men surged forward, pounding Gary with fists and kicks.
Gary howled in pain, covering his head with his hands while desperately shouting, "Mr. Collins, why are you hitting me? I'm Mr. Robinson's friend! You should show some respect to him!
"It was him who asked you to let us go last night."
"What Mr. Robinson? What respect? Who do you think he is to get me to give you any respect? You owe your safety last night to James. Dare to challenge James again, and I'll finish you off."
'What? Because of James?'
These words made Jenny's eyes widen in disbelief. She thought, 'Last night, James resolved the issue? How could this be?
'How could a man who relies on a woman have such capability?'
Sebastian kicked Gary twice more, then respectfully approached James.
"James, good morning. I'm here to apologize."
The room fell silent.
Jenny covered her mouth tightly, afraid she might scream.
