Chapter 155 It's Time to End This

Last time, Scott took down Secure Horizon Services and captured dozens of fugitives, but the four Midnight Killers managed to escape.

Afterward, the police launched a comprehensive manhunt for them, but they were never found.

James had almost forgotten about their existence, but unexpectedly, they came looking for him.

James was filled with a murderous intent toward these remnants.

After all, dozens of young women had been killed by them.

"Bryan Watson's base?" Hearing James' words, the middle-aged fat man tensed up. "You know where we escaped from?"

He re-evaluated James, realizing that knowing their identity and hiding place meant James was no ordinary person.

At least not as simple as the son-in-law living with his wife that Ellie was investigating.

"Of course I know." James smiled faintly. "I also know that today is the end for you."

"Kid, you surprise me." The middle-aged fat man glanced around and, seeing no ambush, sneered,

"But unfortunately, you're destined to die here."

James indeed surprised them, but it was four against one, and they were seasoned killers, confident they could easily take down James.

James chuckled, "Murder is a capital crime."

"Not to brag, but the bounty for capturing the four of us adds up to $1,562,500." The middle-aged fat man grinned. "Tell me, after killing so many people, what's one more? We feel no pressure."

The three companions laughed heartily, their eyes filled with contempt and malice.

They had killed seven or eight people like James in a year before.

James asked, "Did Ellie send you?"

The middle-aged fat man twisted his neck and laughed, "Ask the Grim Reaper yourself."

"Remember, my name is Roy," He sneered. "When you die, at least you'll have something to think about, so it won't be so frustrating."

The middle-aged fat man's voice abruptly stopped because a knife was suddenly at his throat.

James stood in front of him, holding a sword.

The scene fell silent instantly.

No one expected James to be so skilled, not even giving them a chance to react.

The middle-aged fat man was stunned, then sighed, "Lucky."

James looked at the middle-aged fat man and smiled. "I'll give you a chance to live, do you want it?"

The middle-aged fat man smirked, "There are four of us, and you think you can give me a chance to live? Are you sure?"

As he spoke, the three companions drew their weapons, including a dagger, a crossbow, and a gun.

"Kid, if you touch the boss, I'll wipe out your entire family."

A burly woman reacted, drawing a military knife and shouting, "Let him go."

At that moment, James moved swiftly, his right hand thrusting forward, piercing her throat.

The burly woman's voice abruptly stopped as she felt excruciating pain, and blood flowed from her throat.

James said calmly, "Did I give you permission to speak?"

The middle-aged fat man's group fell silent.

The burly woman clutched her throat, shaking, looking at James in disbelief.

She didn't die immediately, her eyes bulging with anger.

No one expected James to be so domineering.

James glanced at her, then looked at the middle-aged fat man.

"Roy, do you have anything to say?"

A capable person shows their skill with one move. Roy looked at his stiff companions and the sharp sword back at his throat, finally smiling bitterly.

"I surrender."

James nodded slightly. "Good, surrendering saves me the trouble. Break a leg yourself, and I'll give you a way out."

Those four people for $1,562,500 was still a good deal.

A one-eyed man was furious. "Kid, don't be too arrogant."

Before he finished speaking, his voice stopped abruptly as a sword pierced his throat.

No chance to fight back!

The next second, he fell straight down, dying with his eyes open.

"Bastard!"

Another bandit, deeply bonded with his comrades, saw two of them die tragically and, in a fit of rage, raised his crossbow to shoot at James.

James extended his left hand, caught the arrow, and flung it back.

With a sharp sound, the bandit's throat spurted blood as the arrow pierced through.

He pointed at James, shouting in anger, but only managed a gurgling sound from his throat.

'Isn't he just a son-in-law living with his wife? How does it end up with their total annihilation?'

He died with resentment.

James said calmly, "I told you not to talk too much, but you wouldn't listen."

Taking advantage of the moment, the middle-aged fat man moved like a slippery eel, quickly retreating four or five feet.

At the same time, he grabbed a gun with his right hand.

At that moment, the middle-aged fat man's movements froze as a sharp sword was pressed against his forehead.

"So fast."

It was incredibly fast.

The middle-aged fat man stared blankly at James.

At this moment, he was utterly terrified. This James was no ordinary person but a truly formidable individual.

His skills were superior to anyone Roy had encountered before; none were as terrifying as James'.

As he realized this, his face turned pale.

'It is over! We are all doomed!'

This was his only thought at that moment.

"$1,562,500, I wonder if it's worth it."

James took out his phone, dialed 911, then walked up to Roy and asked, "Now, can you tell me who sent you?"

"Of course, you can choose not to." James smiled. "But that will determine whether I kill you or hand you over to the police."

"Yes, it was Miss Hall who offered us five million to retrieve General Jade."

Roy knew the game was up. "Whether to kill you was up to us, and we usually leave no witnesses."

James asked, "Who is Ellie? How does she have the guts to harbor you?"

"On the surface, she's an antique shop manager, but she's actually a fence." Roy explained in one breath, "The things she smuggles and sells, and the people she's killed, she deserves to die ten times over. I had a close relationship with her."

"So after Secure Horizon Services went down, I sought refuge with her. There's a secret room under the Morris Antique Shop where we've been hiding these days."

Since he was doomed, he didn't mind dragging a few others down with him.

"Thank you." After he finished speaking, James nodded, then kicked Roy, knocking him out.

He then tied Roy up, stuffed him into the car, and locked it.

James had just cleaned up his traces when he heard the sound of police sirens approaching.

James didn't stay. Although the $1,562,500 bounty was tempting, he found dealing with the police too troublesome.

He sent a message to Scott and then clapped his hands, ready to leave.

As he closed the van door, James noticed a small pendant hanging from the rearview mirror of the Midnight Killers' vehicle.

At first glance, it looked like a cheap trinket.

In fact, the Midnight Killers hadn't taken good care of it; it was dirty and worn.

But the Life Gem reacted, prompting James to grab it. He took the small pendant with him.

At 6 PM, James returned to the Smith Family villa.

As soon as James parked the car and walked into the hall, a cup of tea was thrown at his feet.

Addison cursed, "Can't you see I'm pouring water? Why didn't you move?"

James looked up and saw many people sitting in the house.

'It is time to settle things once and for all,' James thought.
