Chapter 386 Won't Survive Half an Hour
An hour later, all fifteen doctors had finished their diagnoses and gathered to discuss their findings.
James didn't join them. Instead, he stepped back to Gerald's side, looking thoughtful. He pulled out his phone and sent a few text messages.
Gerald didn't push James for details. He just sat in a corner with a few bodyguards, leisurely sipping water, and told Isaac not to worry about him.
The consensus among the doctors was that Trevor was suffering from severe anxiety and stress, leading to organ failure and a decline in bodily functions. His meridians were blocked, and his heart was at risk, posing a constant threat to his life.
In other words, it was a psychological issue, and there was no cure. The doctors' initial confidence turned to dejection, especially when they considered Trevor's self-inflicted injuries.
Ten billion dollars was out of reach.
"Everyone, my father has been under immense pressure these past few months. I know his illness is psychological, and I understand that psychological issues require mental remedies," Isaac said, stepping into the center to break the somber mood.
"But we can't get the mental remedy right now."
If they could kill Molly, Trevor would recover. But the Lee family couldn't kill her and were even facing her periodic attacks.
"So we can only rely on your help to find another way to save my father."
"If anyone here has a solution, please help my father. We're always grateful for kindness."
Isaac looked sincerely at the assembled doctors, his deep eyes glistening with tears, embodying the image of a devoted son.
At that moment, several other Lee family members rushed over, their expressions eager as they looked at the doctors, hoping someone could cure Trevor.
"If you can help my father recover, ten billion dollars will be yours immediately," Isaac declared, offering a substantial reward.
"Besides the money, I'll also give my shares in the Lee family, which is twenty percent."
He was putting all his assets on the line.
Gerald whispered to James with a barely perceptible smile, "He seems really devoted, really wants Trevor to get better."
James, standing behind Gerald, replied, "What's the use of promising ten billion dollars for an incurable disease?"
Gerald asked, "Do you think you can cure Trevor?"
James responded cryptically, "This is a setup."
Gerald was slightly taken aback but said nothing, taking a sip of water.
"Twenty percent of the Lee family's assets? That's two hundred billion dollars. Quite a generous offer. Isaac is really devoted."
Isaac's words caused a stir in the room. Not only were the Lee family members in a daze, but even the seasoned doctors were astonished.
However, they quickly shook their heads with wry smiles. Yes, curing Trevor would bring a fortune, but they simply didn't have the ability.
Seeing the room fall silent again, Isaac bowed deeply. "Please, help us."
"Mr. Lee, it's not that we don't want to help. We just can't."
"His psychological issue is severe. His heart is almost dead. His self-harm is his way of feeling alive through intense pain."
The doctors discussed among themselves, shaking their heads, unable to find a solution for Trevor's condition.
"I'll give it a shot."
Just as Isaac and the Lee family members were losing hope, Daryl, who had been silent, stood up. With his hands behind his back, he spoke calmly, "To be honest, Mr. Lee's condition is indeed tough to treat."
"I've practiced medicine for decades and seen countless strange and rare diseases, but this is the first time I've encountered something like this."
"As everyone has said, Mr. Lee's heart is nearly dead. Without a mental remedy, he won't last more than a month."
"Although I'm not entirely confident, I'm willing to try."
"Half a year ago, I got my hands on a rare medical manuscript that contains a technique for unblocking the body's meridians."
Daryl's expression became resolute. "I'll treat Mr. Lee."
His words caused another uproar, but this time it was one of excitement. No one had expected Daryl to have a solution.
Alfonso and the others gathered around to show their respect.
Alfonso curiously asked, "Daryl, what technique did you learn?"
"The Soul Augmentation Technique," Daryl replied proudly.
"It's a lost acupuncture technique specifically for unblocking meridians. I spent a year mastering the nine needles."
"My technique isn't perfect, but it should alleviate Mr. Lee's condition."
His hesitation turned into confidence.
The Soul Augmentation Technique?
Many of the doctors present were highly skilled and were thrilled to hear the name of the lost technique.
"Mr. Fields, you're amazing. Finding a lost technique like that. No wonder you're a renowned doctor in Stardust City."
"I've heard that mastering the Soul Augmentation Technique can unlock genetic potential. It's incredibly powerful but also very difficult to learn, which is why it was lost."
"Only someone with Mr. Fields' talent could learn it. The rest of us wouldn't even master the first needle."
The doctors showered Daryl with praise.
Daryl remained indifferent, as always.
"Thank you, Mr. Fields!" Isaac said gratefully, making a gesture of invitation.
"Please, Mr. Fields, go ahead."
The Lee family members were also excited.
Daryl didn't hesitate. After preparing, he had someone bring the silver needles to the bedside.
He nodded slightly at Trevor, then began the acupuncture.
The silver needles flew with precision.
Soon, Trevor's body was covered with needles.
As Daryl manipulated the needles, the points began to show a reddish hue.
The red hues gradually connected into a clear red line.
These red lines started to stimulate Trevor's meridians, bringing a hint of color to his withered face.
Isaac, Alfonso, and the other doctors gathered around to witness the ancient acupuncture technique.
Gerald also joined out of curiosity.
Only James smiled faintly and shook his head as he stepped forward.
Soon, Daryl finished the eighth needle, and Trevor's eyes showed a glimmer of life, making Isaac and the other family members overjoyed.
All eyes were on Daryl.
He picked up the ninth needle, ready to place it on a specific point on Trevor's body.
"Stop! This technique is indeed the Soul Augmentation Technique," James suddenly stepped forward, his voice startling everyone.
"But Mr. Fields, you haven't learned it completely. The first eight needles are correct, but the ninth is wrong. You should've improvised yourself."
"If you place this needle, Mr. Lee won't survive half an hour."
The room fell silent, everyone staring at James in shock.
