Chapter 235 The Battle of Rosewood City

Today, Michelle went all out in the kitchen because Olivia was coming over, and she filled the table with a feast.

Olivia showed up with a fancy bottle of wine she grabbed from her car.

Nobody knew what Olivia said to Michelle, but Michelle was grinning ear to ear, clearly seeing Olivia as future daughter-in-law material.

James watched the whole thing, feeling a bit stuck.

He figured if Olivia kept visiting, Michelle would definitely start pushing him to marry her.

James liked Olivia, but it wasn't love. They got along fine but didn't hang out much, and he wasn't sure if they'd fight if they were together. He still thought about Mary sometimes.

Lost in his thoughts, James suddenly felt a foot pressing on his.

He knew it was Olivia without even looking.

Sure enough, when he glanced up, Olivia was watching him, licking wine off her lips.

Olivia was being playful.

Before James could react, Olivia's foot started sliding up his leg, her toes gently touching his skin.

James blushed.

Olivia looked even more smug, blowing on a bowl of soup with her red lips.

James couldn't take it anymore. When Michelle wasn't looking, he grabbed Olivia's foot.

It felt smooth and soft.

He pressed down on it with his fingers.

Olivia shivered and let out a soft moan, trying to pull her foot back.

James held on and kept teasing.

Olivia moaned again.

Michelle looked up curiously. "Olivia, what's wrong?"

Just as James thought Olivia wouldn't say anything, she lifted the tablecloth and complained, "Mom, James is grabbing my foot."

James was stunned.

Michelle looked over and saw James holding Olivia's foot, playing with it.

The scene was super awkward.

Seeing Michelle's sharp gaze, James quickly let go. "Mom, it's not what it looks like."

"If not, then what? Are you saying I'm seeing things or losing my mind?"

"James, how did you become like this?" Michelle scolded, "Not only are you not eating properly, but you're also harassing Olivia at the table? This is rude and indecent. If Olivia weren't your fiancée, I'd have beaten you with a stick."

Michelle continued, "If you ever wrong Olivia again, I'll kick you out."

She even tapped James on the head with a fork.

"Olivia, you too. I know you like James, but you can't always indulge him. Spoil him too much, and he'll get a big head." Michelle advised Olivia, "If James ever makes unreasonable demands, just slap him."

Olivia nodded, biting her fork. "Okay, I'll listen to Mom. If he acts up again, I'll slap him."

She made a few slapping gestures, looking smugly at James.

James almost bumped into the table, wanting to explain but not knowing how.

Looking at Olivia's pretty face, James felt frustrated, teased by her again.

An hour later, James was seeing Olivia out.

Outside, James grabbed her and asked, "Did you have fun?"

"What do you mean by fun?" Olivia tapped James on the head. "I was serious. Do you think I'd casually call someone Mom and Dad? If they're not my man's parents, I wouldn't call them that."

After tapping James on the forehead, Olivia rubbed it gently, her eyes showing a hint of sincerity.

"I said being your woman is no joke. If you propose today, I'll marry you tomorrow."

Her charm, allure, and wildness were all for James alone. No other man could see her tenderness.

James's heart skipped a beat. He could feel Olivia's genuine affection, and it made him anxious, worried he might let her down.

"Hey, I'm just kidding, don't feel pressured," Olivia said, noticing his silence. "You just got divorced and haven't moved on. How could I ask you to marry me now? Besides, our dad is still in a coma. Without his blessing, our marriage would be meaningless. I have enough patience. But when I'm not around, you can't be with other women. Otherwise, I'll slap you."

Olivia stayed fiery. "Mom has given me her approval."

She hugged James and then left decisively, not wanting him to feel too pressured.

'Tonight's dinner might just be an ordinary family meal, or it could be a permanent farewell.'

'My man, take care of yourself.' she wondered.

Olivia glanced at James through the car window, waved lightly, and then drove off from Bright Heart Hall Clinic.

Half an hour later, Olivia switched cars. She got into a Mercedes van, her smile fading, returning to her haughty and cold demeanor.

Inside the car were several men and women, including Jonathan.

Olivia sat in the main seat, crossed her legs, and picked up a glass of red wine. "What's the situation?"

"Three pieces of news," Jonathan began. "First, Mr. Davis went to Stardust City. Because of the Larry incident, he was detained by the Elder Council and can't leave until the matter is fully investigated. The council also issued a notice that during the investigation, the Los Angeles Mystic Alliance cannot attack Rosewood City, and the Rosewood City Mystic Alliance cannot intervene in our conflict with Bryan. The Elder will also send people to Rosewood City to officiate the duel and keep an eye on the Rosewood City Mystic Alliance."

His face showed a hint of seriousness. "This removes a major support for us."

Without Richard, a top-tier combatant, the battle against Bryan in Rosewood City would lack assurance.

Olivia narrowed her eyes. "Seems Larry still holds some weight."

Although there was enough evidence to show that the person who killed Larry wasn't James, his death was still related to James losing his martial arts skills.

So it was understandable that the Mystic Alliance Elder Council would take it out on the Rosewood City Mystic Alliance.

"The second piece of news is that for the duel in three days, Bryan won't attend in person out of fear of being ambushed by us," Jonathan continued. "His son, Neil Bennett, will lead the team, and The Morris Family will send Keith to observe. They say it's to observe, but it's really to prevent us from pulling any tricks."

Olivia's face showed no surprise. "The Morris Family's intentions are becoming more obvious."

"Third, we found out another piece of news. Neil has invited a powerful fighter named Leopold, Maximilian's prized disciple, who is ranked forty-eighth on the hitman list. Rumor has it he possesses seventy percent of Maximilian's skills and can kill with a single strike. His strength surpasses that of the fighters we've hired."

Jonathan's expression was hesitant. "He's expected to arrive in Rosewood City the day after tomorrow."

"The day after tomorrow?" Olivia downed her glass of wine. "Then find a way to make sure he never reaches Rosewood City."

The battle in Rosewood City was inevitable.
