Chapter 244 The Number One Person in Rosewood City

"Victory!" Taylor and Jonathan shouted as the ref announced Rosewood City's win.

This was their first win tonight, breaking a six-game losing streak. It meant everything to Rosewood City.

Olivia brushed a few stray hairs from her forehead, regaining her elegant and confident look. The lights highlighted her stunning face, making her look even more dazzling.

"Bastard," Neil muttered, kicking the sofa before having someone carry Leopold away. Francis's sword not only took out Leopold but also turned the tide of the battle.

Neil downed three glasses of red wine, glaring at James and Francis with gritted teeth. Leopold was his ace, and now that he was out, the remaining nine would struggle against Francis.

He wanted to shoot James and Francis right then and there, but with Raymond and his team backing them up, and Francis being so strong, he had to swallow his hatred.

"Bastard, you killed my Leopold," the girl in Floral Elegance fumed, stomping her foot. "That bastard must have cheated. I want an autopsy. Losers always use dirty tricks to win."

She was venting her frustration.

"Lucy Ramirez, don't talk nonsense," the woman in the dress beside her said with a faint smile. "That Francis does have some skills."

The young guy in the vest laughed, "The people from Rosewood City are indeed complex. No wonder so many forces can't infiltrate them."

Lucy snorted, "They can only act tough in Rosewood City. Outside of it, I could kill them with a word."

The noble lady from Stardust City had an inherent sense of superiority over the people of Rosewood City and naturally looked down on the local aristocrats.

Keith, however, looked at James and murmured, "This young man is interesting."

"Mr. Morris, you admire him?" The girl in the dress smiled, "This kid looks arrogant and sleazy. How could you admire him?"

"Leila Ross, you seem to have a grudge against him?" Keith laughed, "When did he offend you?"

Leila was slightly stunned, then leaned back in her seat without speaking. She couldn't possibly say that James's gaze had violated her, could she?

"Mr. Morris, in tonight's battle, we bet on Neil," the young man in the vest said, looking sharply at Francis. "If he loses, won't all our efforts these days be in vain?"

"There are still nine rounds left. Who will win or lose is still unknown," Keith said indifferently. "Besides, even if we lose, it will only cost us some time. It won't affect our overall plan."

He added, "Bryan is breaking through. As long as he reaches the intermediate level, tonight's bet will be null and void in no time."

He popped a mint into his mouth, "The situation in Rosewood City is bound to change."

The young man in the vest tilted his head towards a scarred man not far away, "Should we let Marvin Eastwood take action?"

Although Francis was formidable, if Marvin took action, he would undoubtedly die.

"Eugene Sullivan, don't meddle. We're here to watch the fun. Doing too much can backfire," Keith refused without hesitation. "Most importantly, getting involved personally would be beneath us."

Eugene nodded, "Understood, then let those two enjoy their moment."

At this moment, Neil, like a gambler who had lost everything, reluctantly put all his remaining strong fighters into the next nine rounds.

He hoped to turn the tide.

But the results were predictable. All nine were defeated by Francis with a single sword strike.

Francis looked thin and unassuming, with no imposing presence, like a piece of wood, but his speed was incredibly fast. So fast it was despairing.

The unstoppable momentum was just like Leopold at the beginning. It was unbeatable and invincible.

At this moment, Francis was both inconspicuous and the center of attention.

Zachary was very unhappy, causing trouble more than once, but he still couldn't stop Francis's victory.

With an unblemished record of ten wins, Francis stood victorious.

Zachary's face darkened.

Keith also showed a trace of displeasure, not expecting this problem to be solved by Rosewood City again.

"Today's peace battle, The Bennett Group sent out ten people, all of whom lost. Rosewood City sent out ten people, with one still standing on the stage," the host concluded.

Half an hour later, an elder from the arbitration panel stood up and announced to the crowd, "Now I declare, Rosewood City is the winner."

"First off, Bryan and his crew are banned from Rosewood City. If they step foot here without permission, they’re dead meat. Second, The Bennett Group has to cooperate with Rosewood City on all the bet terms, no questions asked. Third, Neil can’t stay in Rosewood City for more than two weeks." The arbitrator added, "And no fighting for the next three years. Anyone who breaks these rules or tries any shady stuff will be everyone's enemy." Despite his age, the arbitrator's reputation was solid, and everyone had to respect his word.

Jonathan and Taylor cheered like crazy.

Aaron and Raymond finally relaxed, feeling a huge weight lifted off their shoulders.

Neil, though pissed, knew the game was up tonight.

Even with all his manpower, without Keith and the others backing him, he couldn’t take on all of Rosewood City alone.

Keith and Zachary had no reason to back him up either.

Olivia looked at Neil and said, "Mr. Bennett, go clear the venue and get the contracts ready. We’ll send someone over soon to take over."

Neil’s eyes were cold, but he just grunted and left.

As Neil walked away, Aaron pulled Jacob aside and whispered, telling him to keep an eye on Neil.

With the battle over, the arbitration panel and guests exchanged a few pleasantries and then left.

As Zachary led his people past James, he stopped, his gaze icy, "Are you James?"

James responded calmly, "That's right."

Zachary spoke coldly, "The more outstanding someone is, the more likely they are to get held back, you know?"

James replied crisply, "I also know that older people are easily overlooked."

"Well." Zachary laughed angrily, then left with his people.

Since the incident with Larry and tonight’s events, he would seek revenge on James sooner or later.

Francis saw his intent and drew his sword to advance.

James quickly pulled him back, "No rush, there's plenty of time."

Francis obediently stopped.

"James, Francis, thank you," Raymond said.

"Yeah, James, we owe you big time tonight. Otherwise, we’d be in deep trouble. You’ve helped us again. Seems like we owe you more and more," Aaron added.

Andrew asked, "By the way, James, I heard you got divorced. Are you single now? My daughter Gabriella has always wanted to thank you. I'll bring her to the clinic to see you tomorrow."

"Andrew, don’t get any ideas about James. James and my daughter Taylor admire each other," Raymond chimed in. At this moment, Raymond, Andrew, Aaron, and the others all gathered around, shaking hands with James and expressing their gratitude.

"What are you doing? James is mine, we’ve signed an agreement. You can’t mess around." Hearing Raymond and the others thanking James and even discussing marriage, Olivia quickly squeezed in and grabbed James's arm.

Seeing Olivia so protective of James, Aaron and the others all laughed heartily.

Olivia then looked at Francis, "Francis, thank you."

Aaron and the others also expressed their gratitude to him.

Francis didn’t respond, standing indifferently behind James. He fought not for the various factions of Rosewood City but to protect James, so he didn’t need to be appreciated.

Aaron and the others smiled, not getting angry. They thought Francis had the right to be arrogant.

"My new friend isn’t great with words, please understand," James laughed. "But there’s no need to thank us, we’re all on the same side. Besides, someone like Leopold isn’t worth mentioning."

Lucy was walking towards the door, showed a trace of disdain upon hearing this. In her view, James had no real ability and only relied on Francis. How could he have the nerve to say Leopold wasn’t worth mentioning?

She wanted to scold him but was pulled away by Leila.

Aaron laughed heartily upon hearing this, "No matter what, we all need to thank you properly. If it weren’t for you tonight, we wouldn’t have been able to stop Leopold and would have lost our foundation. James, you not only saved us but also did a great service to Rosewood City. We have unanimously decided..."

Aaron waved his hand, and Taylor immediately took out a small box.

The box opened to reveal a transparent badge as thin as a cicada’s wing.

Aaron took out the badge and pinned it directly on James's chest, "James, from now on, you are the president of the Sky Peak Club."
