Chapter 11

After more than an hour, Mark and the others finally stopped.

Sophia had finally passed the critical period.

Her heart rate, breathing, pulse, and all other bodily functions were trending towards normal levels.

Looking at those jumping figures, the attending doctors couldn't help but cheer, but soon, they stood dumbfounded by the bedside.

Only now did they remember what they had just experienced.

A patient declared dead had been brought back to life in their hands.

This wasn't some so-called suspended animation where the patient spontaneously revived.

It was a genuine case of a patient dying from severe injuries and then being resurrected.

This was a story they could tell for a lifetime.

Then, they all looked towards James, who had been supporting them throughout, each with a complex expression on their face.

There was surprise, emotion, admiration, but most of all, guilt.

Thinking back on their own humiliating words towards James and their impulse to violence, they wished they could crawl into a hole.

They not only misjudged him but also nearly contributed to Sophia's death...

At that moment, Mark walked up to James and bowed deeply.

The other doctors also turned towards James and bowed respectfully, saying, "Sorry."

Their apologies were accompanied by profound respect.

James waved his hand and said with a smile, "It's good that Sophia is alive."

It was impossible...

Mary's lips quivered at the door. She was shocked not just by James's medical prowess, but also by the reverence Mark and others had for him.
Before today, Mary would never have imagined that James, who was looked down upon to the core by the Smith family, could earn such respect from everyone.

Then, she felt remorse for her own words and actions towards James.

But she couldn't swallow her pride, and the disdain she had felt for a year was hard to reverse in an instant.

"It must have been a fluke." Mary haughtily lifted her face. "If his medical skills were so great, he wouldn't have failed to save Michelle..."

She found a reason for herself; as strong-willed as she was, she really didn't want to lower her head in front of James.

However, when her gaze fell on Olivia, the endless tenderness Olivia showed towards James made her discomfort grow.

Whether James truly had medical skills or was just lucky, she lost to Olivia in this round.

While Mark and the others continued to monitor Sophia, James made his way through the crowd to the outside.

Administering the acupuncture had drained a lot of his energy.

But James didn't mind; as long as Sophia was alive, that was better than anything else.

And the Life Gem could help him quickly recover his energy.

Just as James sat down on a bench at the end of the corridor, Olivia followed him out and abruptly knelt before him rigidly.

Olivia said, "James, from now on, my life is yours."

"Through fire and water, I will not refuse death."

Although she was a woman and her words might seem cliched, every word she spoke was valuable.

The onlookers were dumbfounded at the scene, never expecting the strong and stubborn Olivia to kneel before a young man like this.

"Sophia is fine, that's what matters." James quickly helped Olivia up. "Besides, I was just lucky."

At the same time, he noticed that the Life Gem had gained an additional white light!

James was stunned, thinking, 'Could it be that saving a life could restore a white light without using the Life Gem?'

He was slightly excited at the thought of going to the intensive care unit to save a few more people.

"Lucky?" Olivia laughed and shook her head. "Once is luck, twice is also luck; to say it a third time would be an insult to my intelligence."

She had seen many people, and she could tell at a glance whether James had real skills.

James said with a smile, "Really, it was nothing, just lending a hand."

Olivia said, "James, if you ever need anything, just let me know. Whether I can do it or not, I will put my life on the line."

Sophia had been brought back from death twice by James, and Olivia was sincerely grateful from the bottom of her heart.

Not only had he saved her daughter, but he had also saved her own life.

She also took out a card and handed it to James, saying, "This is a WH Group's VIP card. With it, you can enjoy all the services under its umbrella for free."

"When necessary, you can also use it to mobilize the WH Group's funds and personnel."

Olivia's tone was respectful. "This is a small token of my appreciation; I hope you  will accept it."

The card was red and glamorous, with diamonds embedded around the edges. It was also fireproof and waterproof, and the WH Group was written on it, exuding luxury and prestige.

James was taken aback, saying, "No, this is too valuable. Besides, I already ate one of your ginseng fruits yesterday..."

"James, please don't be modest. You saved Sophia twice; you are our great benefactor, and you fully deserve this VIP card." Olivia was very sincere. "And Sophia might still need your help in the future. If you don't accept it, we would feel embarrassed to bother you again."

"Alright then." Seeing Olivia put it that way, James reluctantly accepted. "Then thank you, Ms. Lee."

"It should be me thanking you," Olivia said.

She was pleased that James accepted the card and then leaned close to his ear and whispered, "There's another use for this card."

"That is, if you want to know anything, just call the customer service number on the back of the card, and you'll be able to find out what you want to know."

Her smile held a hint of mystery. "Maybe you don't need it now, but you will definitely need it in the future."

James was taken aback, utterly dumbfounded, thinking, 'Could this card also provide information about the world?'

Olivia's lips curled into a smile that could captivate all. "It won't disappoint you."

Just then, another person appeared. Mary was expressionless as she looked at the two, who seemed intimate.

She had been worried about a sudden change in Sophia's condition, so she only came out after confirming that Sophia was stable.

To her surprise, as soon as she stepped out of the room, she saw Olivia close to James's face.

Their closeness was like that of a couple.

Moreover, Mary could see that Olivia's eyes, when looking at James, were filled with gratitude and admiration.

This made Mary subconsciously frown.

Olivia moved two steps closer to James and whispered, "Are you free for lunch? Let's have a meal together."

"Thank you, Ms. Lee, but James is busy," Mary said.

She couldn't hold back any longer, smiling as she walked over and took James's arm. "He's having lunch with me..."

Then, she pulled James into the red BMW, stepped on the gas pedal, and drove away, leaving a stunned Olivia behind.

James was also baffled.

'Is she jealousy?' he thought.

The car drove out of the hospital, and Mary said coldly, "Olivia is very beautiful and gentle, isn't she?"

Olivia's beauty was stunning, and her gentleness was like a breeze in March, irresistibly enchanting.

But James was no fool; he said, "She is beautiful, but she's far behind you."

Mary's face softened a bit.

Just then, James's phone vibrated.

He pressed the answer button, and soon, Addison's sharp and authoritative voice came through. "James, don't forget to go to SH Corporation to collect the debt..."
