Chapter 362 Kaitlyn's Call
After dealing with the Rivera Manor, James asked Kaida to take him home so he could get some sleep.
Instead of taking James back to his rundown villa, Kaida drove him straight to Leo Villa.
The villa area, called Zodiac Estates, was located in Glowing Oasis Wetland Park. It faced lush greenery and backs onto a mighty river, with a view of the Glowing Oasis Bridge.
Both the location and environment were top-notch in Glowing Oasis, and the owners of these twelve villas were all prominent figures in the city.
Even the least expensive villa here cost three hundred million dollars, and Leo Villa was worth an astronomical sum.
But James, feeling extremely sleepy, didn't have time to appreciate the surroundings. He found a room in the villa and fell asleep immediately.
He slept for most of the day and woke up at five in the afternoon.
James asked the villa's housekeeper, Gray, to cook him some noodles, then he checked his phone for messages from the day.
[Soren resisted and was killed by Mia with one strike.]
[Chris fought to the death and was taken down by Francis with a single blow.]
[Milo had a heart attack and missed the meeting, thus avoiding danger.]
[Ruby personally led the charge, defeated eight Mystic Alliance leaders, and rallied three thousand followers.]
[Ollie took over the Green family, killed thirty-eight people, and now controls the entire family.]
[Ruby took over Chris's remaining forces, killed his four top aides, and recruited four thousand followers.]
[Milo declared Ruby's methods despicable and unworthy of being the new leader. He challenged Ruby and Ollie.]
[Milo's warrior, Crazy Bear, has arrived in Glowing Oasis.]
One battle report after another appeared before James. The situation in Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance was better than he had imagined. In less than three days, they had subdued seventy percent of the Mystic Alliance followers.
As long as they could eliminate Milo, the stubborn old man, the Mystic Alliance in Glowing Oasis would be powerless to resist.
James believed Ruby and the others would soon deal with Milo.
After finishing his noodles, James changed his clothes and was about to go out for a walk when he received a text message.
He opened it and saw it was from Kaitlyn, with a location and a simple message: [Come save me!]
James was slightly startled and called back, but no one answered.
Worried that Kaitlyn might be in trouble, he rushed to the location as quickly as possible.
Twenty-five minutes later, James arrived at the bar district known as Riverfront World.
Riverfront World was a retired cargo ship with three levels, each containing seven or eight different types of bars, making it a lively place.
It was considered a famous leisure spot in Glowing Oasis.
"James, you're here?"
As James looked around for Kaitlyn, a youthful and vibrant figure rushed over, bringing a waft of fragrance.
The next second, Kaitlyn was in James's arms, smiling brightly. "I knew you'd come."
Tonight, Kaitlyn was as simple as ever, wearing a black sheer short skirt and a white T-shirt that outlined her figure.
She wasn't wearing stockings, revealing her beautiful long legs, which were quite eye-catching.
"You're okay? I thought you were in trouble." James let go of Kaitlyn with a hint of annoyance. "This is like crying wolf. Be careful next time; if you're really in danger, you might not find anyone to help."
"I trust you." Kaitlyn's lips curved into a smile. "Even if I lie a hundred times about being in danger, I believe you'll come to save me every time."
James tapped her on the head. "You think you have me figured out? Tell me, why did you call me here?"
"To drink, of course." Kaitlyn's smile was radiant. "I've been in Glowing Oasis for two days and made some friends. They invited me to the bar."
"I couldn't refuse, but coming alone made me a bit scared. After all, I'm just a silly little bunny." She linked her arm with James's. "So I called you over."
James gently pulled away. "Wasn't the incident with Damon enough of a lesson?"
"They're all actors from the crew. I'm ranked eighteenth, and she's ninth, much higher than me. How could I refuse?"
Kaitlyn pouted. "James, just spend one evening with me. Besides, these friends are great, not worse than Mary."
Hearing this, James's expression softened a bit. He patted Kaitlyn's head. "You're really mischievous."
Kaitlyn dared to come to Glowing Oasis alone for filming, so going to a bar with a few actresses shouldn't scare her.
She called him over, ostensibly for company, but really to comfort him.
James finally nodded. "Alright, I'll spend the evening with you. But you can't stay out too late; you must leave by midnight."
Kaitlyn blinked and nodded repeatedly.
"By the way, how's Mary doing?" As they walked, James hesitated before asking, "Is she adjusting well in Stardust City?"
"Very well, very adjusted." Kaitlyn didn't hide anything from James. "She seems like a different person, not only tough but also ruthless."
"In just a few days, she took control of the thirteenth branch and centralized the financial power."
"Even my mom is a bit scared of her now, not daring to throw tantrums at home, just sighing and calling her ungrateful and a traitor."
"She's the queen of the house now."
"But I couldn't stand the pressure, so I took the role in Glowing Oasis and ran away."
Kaitlyn's smile was playful. "James, I think you should hurry up and remarry Mary, or I'm afraid she'll keep being like that."
James shook his head lightly, not saying anything. Remarry? Mary would rather kill him than remarry him.
"Don't think it's hopeless." Kaitlyn tilted her head. "I think she still has feelings for you; otherwise, she wouldn't hate you so much."
James chuckled. "Hating me means she can still love me? Don't overthink it."
As they spoke, Kaitlyn led James to Marco Polo Bar.
This bar was filled with many foreigners, all tall and burly, drinking heavily.
As soon as Kaitlyn walked in, countless eyes turned to her.
They didn't hide their intense interest. In terms of looks and temperament, Kaitlyn tonight outshone the heavily made-up women.
"I don't really like it here; it feels too aggressive." Feeling the intense gazes, Kaitlyn said with a wry smile, "But my friends like it, saying it has more masculinity."
James swallowed a curse. "You should avoid hanging out with them too much. Just focus on your own work."
Kaitlyn smiled sweetly. "Got it, James. Come on, they're at table eight."
As Kaitlyn led James to table eight, they heard the sound of a scuffle from the booth.
Then a fat man rolled out, landing awkwardly at James and Kaitlyn's feet.
