Chapter 122 Crashed the Party

Although he recognized Mary's car and guessed she might have misunderstood, James did not chase after her.

All he wanted was a peaceful divorce. There was no need to explain anything.

Back at the clinic, James put away Virgil's files, made himself a fresh cup of hot tea, and then began seeing patients.

Daniel soon arrived and efficiently started helping out.

There were many patients, and the two were busy until ten o'clock. Just as James was about to rest, he heard a piercing noise from across the street.

James squinted and glanced over, discovering a newly opened medical clinic named Bright Heart Hall Clinic.

The facade was large, and the decor was quaint and traditional. Seven or eight young women in white uniforms greeted customers at the entrance, their long legs and charming demeanor captivating.

Moreover, they offered free consultations for three days and gave away food with any purchase of $15 or more in medicine.

In no time, Bright Heart Hall Clinic became bustling with activity, drawing a large crowd.

Daniel smirked at James and said, "James, someone is stealing our business."

"Let them steal." James stretched lazily. "I hope they steal more so we can have some peace."

For James, the patients were mainly for Daniel to practice on and for him to accumulate experience; he didn't care much about how much money they made.

James charged his patients like Raymond in the range of millions or tens of millions of dollars.

Treating one such patient was equivalent to treating a hundred thousand locals. He didn't care at all if his business was being taken away.

Daniel looked at the line of patients and smiled, "Makes sense."

"Sir, please take a look at my wife."

At that moment, a young couple sat down in front of Daniel. The round-faced husband looked anxious and said, "We've been married for three years and have been trying to have a baby, but we just can't conceive. We've been to many hospitals, but they couldn't find anything wrong."

"We heard that JZL Medical Hall has a century-old reputation and can cure any illness, so we wanted to ask for your help."

"Please, make my wife pregnant. I really want a child."

The pretty wife chimed in. "Don't worry, Alex. JZL Medical Hall's medical skills are top-notch. They won't disappoint us."

Upon hearing this, James slightly furrowed his brows. It seemed like the other party was ostensibly praising JZL Medical Hall, but in reality, they were pushing Daniel into a corner, insisting that he must cure their infertility.

Otherwise, JZL Medical Hall would be seen as exaggerating its capabilities, and James and Daniel would be considered frauds.

He also briefly glanced at the young wife. She was in her thirties, with a tall, slender figure, large eyes, a small waist, fair cheeks, and long hair cascading over her shoulders, exuding a certain allure.

Especially when she lightly bit her red lips, it radiated an electrifying appeal.

The sight of her long legs revealed through her stockings filled her with the seductive charm of a mature woman.

Such a woman would undoubtedly draw many second glances when she walked on the street.

Indeed, a good number of male patients and their relatives were also stealing glances at this woman.

Even Daniel found himself occasionally looking her way. She was simply too captivating.

However, something about the situation didn't sit quite right with James.

"Let me take a look."

Daniel didn't think much and started diagnosing the young wife. After five minutes, he frowned deeply, more serious than ever.

The husband quickly asked, "Sir, how is my wife?"

"Let me check again."

Daniel exhaled a long sigh and once again diagnosed the young wife. After a while, he shook his head with a bitter smile, his face full of helplessness.

The young woman's condition was too puzzling. In all his years of practicing medicine, this was the first time he had encountered such a case.

Daniel looked at James. "James, it's beyond my capabilities. I can't figure this out."

James remained calm and went over to diagnose the young woman. In less than thirty seconds, he withdrew his hand.

Then, he looked at the young couple and said, "Get out."

"Get out?"

The round-faced husband looked displeased, "Doctor, what kind of attitude is this? If you can treat her, then do it. If you can't, just say so. Why are you insulting us?"

The young wife also complained, "Yes, JZL Medical Hall is very reputable. How can you have such a bad attitude? Even if you can't treat it, you shouldn't speak to us like that."

The patients in line started murmuring, all criticizing James for being rude and lacking the compassion of a doctor.

Daniel leaned in and asked James softly, "James, what's going on?"

"Are you leaving or not?"

James picked up his tea and took a sip. "In a while, you'll be begging for leaving."

The round-faced husband, called Alex, looked cold.

Alex asked, "Sir, what do you mean? Is this how you treat patients? We're going to file a complaint, sue you, and shut down this clinic."

The young wife also shouted, "JZL Medical Hall has no respect for patients, no medical ethics at all."

Daniel wanted to step forward to mediate, but James stopped him, letting the couple shout, attracting a crowd.

Soon, people and patients from Bright Heart Hall Clinic also came over to watch the commotion. No matter how pretty the women were, a doctor-patient argument was more interesting.

In no time, JZL Medical Hall was packed with people.

Alex said, "Everyone, listen to us. We came all the way from out of town to seek treatment at JZL Medical Hall. The doctor couldn't diagnose us and instead insulted us, telling us to get out."

Alex shouted angrily, "Tell me, does such a clinic deserve to exist?"

The crowd began to murmur about JZL Medical Hall, expressing their disappointment and saying that the clinic's standards had plummeted after the change in staff.

James said, "You've got it wrong. I didn't just insult you. I also hit you."

James swaggered forward and then slapped Alex and the young woman, knocking them to the ground.

Alex and his wife screamed in pain, clutching their cheeks and shouting angrily, "He hit us! Someone call the police!"

Many people scolded James for his rudeness and took out their phones to call the police.

"Go ahead and call the police, and get the media here too." James clapped his hands and smiled. "Tell them that JZL Medical Hall has a man who wants to get pregnant."

Pregnant? A man?

The entire crowd was stunned.

Alex and his wife also looked at James in disbelief.

"Bastard, what nonsense are you spouting?" Alex fumed. "You're slandering us! We're going to file a complaint and shut down this clinic."

"File a complaint?"

James smiled indifferently and stepped forward, slapping Alex and his wife again, knocking them down.

James said, "You brought a transgender person here and demanded that we make him pregnant. Do you have the nerve to complain? Can your father get pregnant, or can your grandfather?"

James stepped on the young woman, and before Alex could rush over, he tore off her skirt.

The young woman instinctively screamed and tried to cover her sensitive areas, but it was too late.

James didn't stop; he pulled down her top with a swift motion.

Flat as a board.

"Oh my God, it's really a man."

"This is so shocking."

"A man wanting to get pregnant, isn't this just causing trouble?"

"Forcing a doctor to make a man pregnant is like asking a doctor to turn a dog into a woman."

The onlookers began to chatter, cursing Alex and his wife. Some even wanted to rush forward and hit them, feeling deceived.

Daniel suddenly understood. No wonder he couldn't diagnose anything; the young wife was a transgender person.

But she was incredibly beautiful.

Alex hurriedly helped his 'wife' up and pointed at James, shouting angrily, "You, just wait. I won't let you get away with this."

"Wait? Who's waiting for you?"

James stepped forward and kicked Alex, sending him flying. "Break both his hands and throw him out."

Troy, who had been watching the commotion, rushed over with his men.

After the commotion caused by the Alex couple, JZL Medical Hall's reputation grew even more, attracting many more patients. Even patients from the Bright Heart Hall Clinic came over.

James was quite helpless. He had originally hoped that Bright Heart Hall Clinic would take on some of the patients, but instead, the number of patients doubled. This left him and Daniel working until six o'clock to see all the patients.

Daniel said, "Someone definitely sent Alex, and his wife here to set a trap. Otherwise, they wouldn't have come to ruin our reputation for no reason."

Daniel said as he brewed tea, looking curiously at James. "Why didn't you have Troy interrogate them?"

"We don't need an investigation to know that Bright Heart Hall Clinic sent them."

James smirked. "Just remember to leave room for maneuver when dealing with things. Don't be too absolute, so it won't be awkward in the future."

He pulled out a check from his pocket, which he had picked up when he tore off the young wife's top.

Daniel took a look and saw it was a check from Bright Heart Hall Clinic.

"So, you had evidence all along." Daniel gave a thumbs up. "But if we don't retaliate after they caused trouble, won't it make us look too easy to bully?"

James spoke calmly, "First, we give them a chance because they also treat patients."

"Second, breaking Alex's hands will cost Bright Heart Hall Clinic a lot in compensation, at least tens of thousands of dollars, as a small punishment."

"Anyone with sense won't mess with us again."

James smiled. "Of course, if they insist on fighting us, I don't mind making Bright Heart Hall Clinic disappear."

Daniel nodded slightly. "Understood."

Daniel learned a lot from James about how to handle people. James was ruthless toward his enemies, but he was incredibly kind toward ordinary people.

In the following three days, nothing unusual happened at the JZL Medical Hall. Instead, the number of patients increased several times, all drawn by James's medical skills.

James did not act superior. He sat in consultation with Daniel, seeing over fifty patients each day, which left him feeling tired and sore.

However, as the number of patients treated increased, the white glow of the Life Gem quickly returned to seven pieces.

James enriched himself in his busyness, trying to forget the unpleasant things about the Smith family. But when he thought of Mary, he still felt uncomfortable inside.

The unresolved marriage felt like a string tying him down.

At that moment, James's phone vibrated. He looked down and saw it was from Mary.

He instinctively hung up.

But soon, the phone vibrated again, still Mary.

James hesitated, then finally picked up. "What's up?"

"James, James, come to the hospital. Hurry up!. I've seen your dad." Mary's panicked voice came through. "He's seriously injured."
