Chapter 441 A Dark Night

After James dove into the water, he held onto Kaitlyn, using all his strength to pull them deeper.

By doing so, they dodged the explosion's flames and flying debris, though the shockwave still tossed them a good distance away.

James clung to Kaitlyn as they tumbled underwater, the crushing pressure and pain leaving him breathless.

After a few seconds, they finally stopped, floating about sixty feet from the riverbank.

Kaitlyn coughed up blood, her body wracked with pain.

"Kaitlyn, you okay?" James quickly checked her injuries. If anything happened to Kaitlyn, he couldn't face Mary.

A quick look showed she had a mild concussion and some bruises, but nothing too serious.

"James, I'm okay," Kaitlyn coughed, instinctively holding onto him. "I'm scared."

After everything they'd been through, even her usual optimism couldn't hide her fear.

James hugged her tight. "It's alright, it's alright. Let's get to shore; this water's freezing."

Kaitlyn was about to nod when her eyes suddenly widened in shock.

In the glow of the distant fire, a dark figure emerged behind James, swimming toward them fast.

Kaitlyn instinctively shouted, "Who's there?"

Almost immediately, the dark figure lunged forward with a loud splash, holding a speargun.

Without hesitation, he fired at James.

"Watch out!"

In a split second, as James reached to grab the weapon, Kaitlyn turned and shielded him without a second thought.

The shot hit Kaitlyn with full force, piercing her back.

Blood sprayed into the water.

Kaitlyn's legs gave out, and she collapsed against James, her eyes dimming. Her once lively face turned pale.

The attacker in black was momentarily stunned, not expecting Kaitlyn to take the hit.

His confidence shattered as his surprise attack failed.

As he reached for another weapon, James swiftly pulled the spear out.

In the next moment, James raised his hand, and like a bolt of lightning, the black spear shot through the air.

The attacker tried to dodge, but it was too late.

The spear pierced his shoulder, sending him flying back and pinning him to Clarence's boat like a lizard nailed to a wall. Blood poured from the wound, a gruesome sight.

The attacker let out a scream of agony, struggling in pain.

"Kaitlyn!" James lifted Kaitlyn onto the boat, desperately trying to save the unconscious woman.

Seeing the blood, a fierce rage filled James's mind.

He wanted to destroy everyone who had harmed Kaitlyn, to make them pay dearly.

Clarence ordered his men to capture the attacker and sent others into the river to search.

After two attacks, Clarence was not only furious but also filled with guilt.

Soon, The Bennett's experts pulled five more attackers from the water, binding them on the deck alongside the injured one.

Clarence ripped off their masks, staring at the severely injured attacker. "Gray Wolf?"

It was indeed Gray Wolf, one of the notorious Seven Wolves.

Gray Wolf didn't respond, glaring at James with regret for not killing him with a single shot.

Fifteen minutes later, James had stabilized Kaitlyn's condition.

Exhausted, he didn't rest but instead approached the captured attackers.

James looked at Gray Wolf coldly. "Where's Aurelia?"

Gray Wolf's lips twitched. "I don't know."

James tilted his head slightly.

Clarence stepped forward and tossed Gray Wolf into the air like he was nothing.

Covered in blood, Gray Wolf's face went pale as Clarence yanked him back and drove his knee into Gray Wolf's chest.

With a sickening crack, two ribs snapped, and Gray Wolf's face turned ghostly white.

He couldn't hold back and spat blood into the air.

His eyes glazed over, suffering from severe internal injuries.

Clarence showed no emotion, lifting Gray Wolf and slamming him headfirst toward the ground.

Gray Wolf groaned, closing his eyes, ready to meet his end.

But before he could find any peace, another pair of hands grabbed his arm.

A wave of pain and numbness shot through his brain.

His vision darkened as blood splattered—Clarence had torn off one of his arms.

Gray Wolf's eyes widened, his face twisted in agony, sweat pouring down.

Clarence remained stone-faced, continuing his brutal assault, determined to send a message.

He grabbed Gray Wolf's other arm and pulled with sudden force.

The sound of bones and flesh separating was deafening.

Gray Wolf's other arm was torn away, leaving him completely incapacitated.

Gray Wolf couldn't hold back his screams, fear creeping into his eyes.

James leaned in, asking, "Where is Aurelia?"

Gray Wolf hesitated, and Clarence stomped on his leg, breaking it.

Gray Wolf screamed again, then gasped, "I'll talk, I'll talk! She went to the Royal Court Hotel. Mr. Gonzalez is hosting an event there."

If he'd known James was this terrifying, he wouldn't have taken the job, even for a billion.

James narrowed his eyes. "Royal Court Hotel?"

"A five-star hotel, Gonzalez Family territory, run by Micah's uncle, Ulysses Gonzalez." Clarence spoke quietly, "Ulysses has incredible connections and ruthless methods."

"Got it." James nodded lightly, though inside he was boiling with anger.

Aurelia had not only sent hitmen after him at the Swan Villa but also set a trap using Kaitlyn after the chaos.

Aurelia poisoned Kaitlyn, not out of spite, but to lure him to the yacht for the antidote. Once he was on board, she planned to detonate the explosives.

She hadn't detonated them immediately because he was in uniform, making it hard for the Wolf Club spies to identify him.

That's why there were two instances of binocular surveillance.

Even though the spies couldn't see his face, they knew the person who cured Kaitlyn had to be him.

Once they confirmed he was on the yacht, the spies didn't hesitate to detonate the explosives. Fortunately, he noticed something was off and jumped into the sea just in time.

But Aurelia had anticipated this, hiding a team of attackers in the river—If the explosion didn't kill him, the attackers would finish the job.

Aurelia's cruelty had crossed James's line, making him furious.

"Clarence, take Kaitlyn to the hospital and make sure she's safe!" James spoke to Clarence with determination. "Tell Ollie to lead Dax and wipe out the Wolf Club."

He intended to uproot the Wolf Club, removing a stronghold of the Blood Medical Sect.

Clarence nodded quickly. "Understood."

Without another word, James turned and headed to shore, getting into a car.

Clarence called after him, "James, where are you going?"

James looked up at the night sky. "It's a perfect night for a reckoning."

He hit the gas, leaving the dock swiftly, heading toward the Royal Court Hotel eighteen miles away.
