Chapter 360 The First Appearance of the Blood Medical Sect
"Where do you think you're going?" James chased after Marcella, clutching the General's Gem tightly.
Marcella ran even faster.
The two of them sprinted around the flowerbeds and rock gardens behind the hill, engaged in a high-speed chase.
"Is James really that terrifying? Even monsters are scared of him?"
"No way, no way, he's just a small-town doctor!"
Ingrid and the others were completely dumbfounded. They never expected that the formidable Marcella, who had been wreaking havoc, would be running for her life from James.
And she looked like she'd seen a ghost.
Clearly, she was the one who was cursed.
Not only was Gerald baffled, but Clifford was also stunned.
Looking at his own injuries and then at James's prowess, a wave of shame washed over Clifford's face.
The gap was just too wide.
Marcella was frustrated as she ran. She didn't want to run; she even wanted to tear James apart.
But for some reason, the moment James appeared, she felt an overwhelming sense of suffocation.
Just as Clifford and the others could sense her aura, she could feel James's killing intent.
So, the once-dominant Marcella now only hoped to shake off James and hide. Otherwise, she might not make it through the night.
"Still running?"
Seeing Marcella continue to flee, James grew furious. He raised the General's Gem and shouted an incantation.
He clenched his fist around the gem and thrust it toward Marcella.
A red beam, visible only to James, shot out like an arrow and struck Marcella in the back.
Marcella let out a scream and tumbled behind a rock formation.
"Stay out of this," James ordered Kaida and the others, preventing them from interfering. He quickly moved to stand in front of Marcella.
As she struggled to get up, James punched her again.
Marcella screamed once more, collapsing heavily to the ground, her face contorted in pain.
James didn't stop. He stomped on Marcella's stomach.
The pain forced her mouth open.
First, two fingers were expelled, landing on the ground, bloody and horrifying.
Then, a large amount of eerie energy spewed from her mouth.
It was as black as ink, its shape shifting like a warrior.
The figure solidified and tried to escape with the wind.
James quickly opened his palm, revealing the gem. Symbols and text lit up, enveloping the warrior.
The warrior roared silently, struggling desperately. A voice echoed in James's mind, "Let me go, let me go, you wretch! How dare you touch me?"
"The Blood Medical Sect will kill you, they will kill you!"
The voice was filled with rage, like a trapped beast, as if it wanted to tear James apart.
James ignored the voice, whether it was real or an illusion. He looked at the warrior and sneered, "Still daring to challenge me? Die."
James suddenly clenched the General's Gem.
With a swoosh, the symbols and text fell like swords, piercing the warrior until it was riddled with holes.
Then, the gem absorbed the malevolent energy and eerie power.
The warrior dissipated in despair.
When only a wisp of black energy remained, James paused, and the gem stopped its attack.
The wisp of black energy quickly fled into the dark night.
"Run, run back. It'll be easier for me to destroy you completely." James smirked, carefully pocketing the gem. He then picked up Marcella and emerged from behind the rock formation, "The evil spirit has been expelled. I'll now perform acupuncture on Mrs. Rivera."
James nodded slightly to Gerald and the others. "Prepare a quiet environment for me."
Gerald was overjoyed. "Quick, quick, take Mr. Williams to the guest room."
Kaida and the others hurriedly led James to a quiet guest room.
At this point, no one doubted James. Anyone who could chase Marcella around the hill was far beyond Clifford's level.
A true master of exorcism, without a doubt.
James placed Marcella on the bed in the guest room and wasted no time, immediately beginning his acupuncture treatment.
An hour later, James emerged from the room and handed Gerald a prescription. "Get these medicines, take them three times a day for a week, and Mrs. Rivera will be fine."
"If you're worried, Mr. Rivera, you can go in and see her now. You can talk for ten minutes."
He took the water Kaida handed him and drank it.
Gerald was ecstatic and immediately went into the room with the doctors. Ten minutes later, he came out, beaming.
After a thorough examination, the doctors confirmed that Marcella's physical and mental state was normal.
In other words, his wife was back.
"Thank you, James, thank you. Not only did you help me greatly tonight, but you also solved my biggest worry!"
Gerald handed the prescription to Kaida and then gripped James's hand tightly.
"This is a debt of gratitude I can never repay. Please accept my bow."
Gerald didn't care about the presence of his subordinates. He bowed deeply to James.
"It was nothing, Mr. Rivera. You're too kind."
James held Gerald's arm and smiled, "If you had trusted me earlier, you could have avoided tonight's ordeal."
Gerald decisively slapped himself twice. "James, I was foolish. I'm sorry."
James chuckled. "You can't be blamed entirely. Clifford isn't a fraud; he's just not very skilled."
"That bastard almost got everyone at the Rivera Manor killed."
Gerald turned to the severely injured Clifford and shouted, "Take him away. If he shows up in Glowing Oasis again, cripple him."
Gerald originally wanted to kill Clifford on the spot, but with so many casualties tonight, he didn't want more bloodshed.
The Rivera Group's bodyguards responded loudly, "Yes, sir!"
They swiftly grabbed Clifford and headed for the door.
Clifford screamed hysterically, "Mr. Rivera, spare me, spare me! Give me another chance!"
In his current state, with a broken arm and severe injuries, being thrown out would mean certain death. No one would dare treat him for fear of offending the Rivera Group.
"Ms. Shaw, please, show some mercy."
"I had no ill intentions toward Mrs. Rivera. I really am an exorcist. Help me."
Half a day ago, Clifford had been arrogant. Now, he was utterly humble.
Ingrid didn't dare speak, keeping her head down and pretending not to hear.
"Mr. Rivera, Clifford is indeed despicable, but he's more unskilled than malicious."
James suddenly spoke up, "Please spare his life. After all, Mrs. Rivera just recovered. Let's not kill anyone."
"Whatever you say." Gerald didn't hesitate. He turned to the bodyguards. "Take him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Make sure he never shows up in front of me again."
"Thank you, Mr. Rivera. Thank you, Mr. Williams." Clifford was overjoyed, repeatedly thanking James, "Mr. Williams, I'll never forget your kindness. I'll never forget it."
For James, it was just a few words. For Clifford, it was a lifeline.
The Rivera Group's bodyguards didn't let Clifford shout for long. They threw him into a car and drove away.
After Clifford disappeared, Gerald looked at Ingrid.
Ingrid's eyelids twitched. She stepped forward and spoke to James, "Mr. Williams, I'm sorry. I was blind. Please forgive me."
Gerald's voice deepened. "Not enough!"
Ingrid gritted her teeth and slapped herself four times. "Mr. Williams, I was wrong."
