Chapter 308 Take It Off and Let Me See

Just a few words, but they radiated endless hatred and killing intent, sending chills down one's spine.

James examined it for a moment, then burned it, dispersing the crowd to go back to sleep as if nothing had happened. He didn't want his parents to worry.

However, in private, James secretly made over a dozen phone calls, notifying Raymond and Olivia that Bryan had broken through in martial arts and was coming for revenge.

He wanted the Sky Peak Club members to be cautious and preferably bring a few bodyguards to avoid being attacked by Bryan and his gang.

He also formed ten teams to thoroughly track Bryan's whereabouts.

James was determined to eliminate Bryan.

The next morning, JZL Medical Clinic opened as usual.

James had just sat down when a graceful figure approached, holding a cup of tea.

A gentle voice sounded, "James, have some water."

James looked up and found it was Ava. "Are you feeling better?"

They didn't have much of a relationship, having only interacted three times, but James considered her one of his friends and was willing to take responsibility for her suffering.

If she hadn't informed him of Mary's whereabouts, Ray wouldn't have targeted her, leaving her with painful memories.

"I'm completely fine now," Ava sat down across from James and extended her hand for a diagnosis. "Even the external wounds have scarred over."

James examined her briefly and then withdrew his hand. "Good, there's no major issue. Can you get over it mentally?"

"It was very distressing at first, but once I personally killed Ray, all my resentment disappeared," Ava's face showed a hint of determination. "Now, I just want to start a new life."

James nodded lightly, "It's good that you're not dwelling on it."

Ava suddenly said, "I'm about to leave."

James was taken aback, "Where to?"

"Emerald Country," Ava gave a bitter smile. "Although I've gotten over it mentally, there are still too many familiar friends and relatives of mine in the Rosewood City. I'm brave enough now, but I might not be strong enough in the future. I might give up on myself under the scrutiny and gossip. So while I'm still in a good mental state, I'm planning to go to Emerald Country to stay with my relatives who run a jade shop. I came today to say goodbye and to thank you."

Her eyes showed a hint of gratitude. "No matter what, you avenged me."

"Don't mention it. Deep down, I owe you a favor," James waved his hand lightly, "If you want to leave, I won't stop you. After all, you're right; a change of environment isn't a bad thing. But before you go, you have to accept a gift from me."

With that, James went into the inner room and came out with a check, placing it gently in front of Ava.

"It's a check for one hundred and forty million dollars. I got three hundred million dollars from Ray. Take it, whether you spend it, donate it, or use it for business, it's up to you," James patted her hand. "Don't refuse."

Ava was stunned at first, then lowered her head, tears streaming down.

"James, I'll remember you. Say goodbye to Mary for me." She didn't say much more, but stood up, bowed to James, and then left with the check.

Leaving was a way to escape the pain, and one hundred and forty million dollars was a new beginning...

James didn't expect that a seed he casually planted would later grow into a towering tree, bringing him a hundredfold return.

After Ava left, James felt a bit lonely for a while, then resumed his routine works.

It was a whole day of work. Near five o'clock, a red BMW pulled up.

Mary got out, then walked to the passenger seat and opened the door, helping out a girl about five feet nine inches tall.

The girl had her long hair tied up and looked very clean and appealing. Even with a shy expression, her charm was undeniable.

She wore a shirt on top, faded jeans on the bottom, and white canvas shoes.

She clutched a canvas shoulder bag tightly, looking very reserved and simple.

James curiously asked, "Ms. Smith, is this your sister?"

"Yeb," Mary rolled her eyes at James. "This is Samantha Wallace, Melissa's niece. Melissa was supposed to bring her for a check-up, but my mom needed her to clean up. So she texted me, asking me to bring her over."

Then she linked arms with Samantha and smiled, "Samantha, this is James, Dr. Williams."

James suddenly understood and then smiled, extending his hand, "Miss Wallace, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you." Samantha blushed and nodded slightly, cautiously glancing at James before taking a number and sitting at the back, seemingly isolating herself.

"Samantha is from Hidden Creek, she was raised by the villagers and Melissa. She got into Stardust City Medical University this year," Mary leaned in and whispered to James. "But she had to take a year off due to illness. Her symptoms include dizziness, palpitations, chills, and shortness of breath. She planned to work in Rosewood City, but her condition didn't allow it, so she was hospitalized several times, spending all her donation and award money. Now she relies on Melissa's salary to get IV drips every few days to stabilize her condition."

Mary reminded him. "She's kind and inexperienced, so be gentle with her."

"Got it," James composed himself and then smiled at Samantha. "Samantha, come over here. Let me examine you."

Hearing James call her, Samantha quickly nodded, then hesitated, "I... I'll wait in line."

James was taken aback, then smiled, "Alright."

Since Samantha insisted on following the rules, James didn't push for her to be diagnosed first, as that would be the greatest respect for her.

An hour later, James had seen over a dozen patients and took a moment to glance at Samantha.

"Hurry up, it's your turn now," Wanting to treat Samantha sooner, Mary urged him because James had suddenly gone quiet.

James had gone quiet because he saw Samantha eating, a piece of bread and a bottle of cold water, taking small bites.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, she exuded a quietness that evoked pity.

"Sorry, I didn't know we couldn't eat here," Seeing James and Mary looking at her, Samantha hurriedly tightened the water bottle and wrapped up the bread, putting it in her pocket and repeatedly apologizing. "I'm used to having dinner at six, so I forgot. I'm sorry, Dr. Williams."

She looked flustered, "How much is the fine? I'll pay it."

"It's okay, you can eat here. Look, they're all eating there," James pointed to Nathaniel and the others, then gently said, "It's your turn. Come, let me take a look."

Samantha didn't say anything, bit her lip, and nodded, then followed James into the private consultation room.

Mary followed with her bag.

James reached out to examine her, and after a moment, his expression changed slightly.

James looked at Samantha. "Can you take off your clothes so I can take a look?"
