Chapter 167 The Matter of 15 Dollars
'Made a big mistake?'
The room fell silent upon hearing this, and everyone looked at James with confusion in their eyes.
Even Mia and her friends' angry faces showed puzzlement.
Bruce stared at James and asked, "What big mistake?"
"The internal injuries you have are indeed a big problem for other doctors, but for me, it's a piece of cake." James smirked. "I can make you stand up in a minute."
"Nonsense!" Bruce snorted coldly. "I've seen dozens of famous doctors and visited more than ten hospitals, and none of them dared to say they could heal my injuries. None of them dared to boast that I could stand up. Let alone in a minute."
"Kid, you're good at fighting, but you're exaggerating your medical skills."
"Don't think you can divert attention. You crippled my daughter and injured my apprentice. This won't end well."
Bruce looked at James arrogantly. "You must give us an explanation, or we'll give you one."
Mia and her friends also looked at James with contempt, thinking he was trying to use medical skills as an excuse after realizing he couldn't get away with it.
"Then let me show you my miraculous medical skills."
James smiled and stepped forward, flashing silver needles.
Before Mia and her friends could exclaim, he inserted them into Bruce.
Mia shouted, "Don't hurt my dad!"
Bruce also wanted to resist, but he couldn't match James' speed.
In the blink of an eye, Bruce was covered with silver needles. At first, there was no reaction, but soon, his eyes rolled back, and he started trembling.
Then, his hands and feet began to shake as if he were being electrocuted.
"Bastard."
Seeing her father suffer like this, Mia was furious and swore to kill James.
But she couldn't even get close to James, let alone attack him.
The other patients also watched Bruce, surprised by his symptoms, which were very similar to electrocution.
In the same astonishment as Daniel and the others, Bruce's abdomen tensed, and his body flipped, falling out of the wheelchair.
As his body hit the ground, several silver needles pierced in, and Bruce let out a scream, then suddenly got up from the ground.
"Bastard, you dare to harm me, I'll kill you."
Bruce, in a fit of rage, threw a punch at James with significant momentum.
James ignored him and kicked him hard in the abdomen.
Bruce felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, groaned, and staggered back a few steps, spitting out a mouthful of black blood.
Bruce immediately felt a lightness in his chest, his breathing much smoother, and as he was about to move forward, he stopped.
He realized something. "I can stand up?"
Mia and the others were also stunned and then they realized it, too, looking at Bruce in disbelief.
He really stood up.
Bruce couldn't believe it and moved his limbs, feeling very agile, and then noticed that his blood was no longer blocked.
Now, his martial arts had recovered to sixty percent.
Daniel and Jared were also shocked, never expecting that James could really heal Bruce.
The other patients looked at James with admiration.
"Alright, alright, I'm really healed." Bruce threw a few powerful punches, sweeping away his previous despair, his face full of vitality.
"Don't be too happy." James wiped his hands with a wet wipe and looked at Bruce with a mocking smile. "I only relieved your symptoms, didn't completely cure your internal injuries. In twenty-four hours, you'll be back to your original state, still half-dead."
"I gave you acupuncture just to show you that I can really heal you. And it only costs $15, no need for any rare herbs."
"Think about it, an injury that could be healed for $15, but because of your arrogance, it led to this mess."
"Your daughter is crippled, your apprentice is injured, and you can only be better for one day."
"Tell me, isn't this a big mistake?"
James could have easily driven Bruce and his daughter away, but that wouldn't teach them a lesson, and they would still bully others in the future.
So James demonstrated his medical skills, gave Bruce hope, and then crushed it.
A psychological blow.
Sure enough, hearing James' words, Bruce and his group turned pale, their smiles frozen.
Then, one by one, they showed deep regret. Yes, something that could have been solved for $15 turned into this mess.
If they had been more polite when seeking treatment, Bruce would have already been back to his prime, not worrying about becoming a cripple again tomorrow.
Bruce squeezed out a sentence with difficulty, "Young man, you're too ruthless."
"Am I ruthless, or are you?" James retorted. "You could have stopped your daughter from doing evil, but you sat in your wheelchair and said nothing, letting her run wild."
"This shows that you are also an arrogant person. You must take responsibility for your actions. Get out, go back and enjoy this day of freedom."
"Eat, drink and play; otherwise, once you sit back in the wheelchair tomorrow, you'll never have another chance."
James smiled faintly.
"But before you leave, don't forget, $15, consultation fee."
Bruce's breathing grew heavier, his eyes filled with anger, wanting to punch the hateful person in front of him, but knowing he wasn't James' match now.
He finally gritted his teeth and endured it.
Bruce put down $15 and then left with Mia and the others.
As Mia left, she looked back, not knowing if it was hatred or regret, but she would never forget James.
After Bruce's group disappeared, Jared approached James and whispered, "James, Bruce is one of Richard's four generals, and you dealt with him like this."
Daniel also nodded. "The Mystic Alliance people are very domineering, claiming to be the protectors of Rosewood City while often bullying others."
James smiled faintly. "Don't worry, Bruce won't dare to retaliate."
Jared looked curious. "Why?"
James smiled. "He's angry now, unwilling, but after experiencing this day of freedom, he'll be terrified, afraid of going back to the wheelchair."
"This fear will make him forget his apprentice's injury, his daughter's crippling, and all our grudges."
James' eyes narrowed slightly. "Just wait, he'll soon be kneeling at the door."
Jared suddenly understood and gave a thumbs up in praise. "Impressive."
Daniel didn't say anything but just ran to the front yard renovation area and dragged a pile of pebbles to the door.
At this moment, James' phone vibrated. He opened it to see a message sent via airplane WiFi: [Brother-in-law, don't forget to pick me up.]
