Chapter 192 Kneeling
James greeted them.
A simple "hello," but it hit like a landslide or a tsunami.
Ray and his crew were stunned, jaws practically on the floor.
They never thought James could rally so many people, pulling in major forces from all over Rosewood City.
Joseph had vanished without a trace, and Ray had already overestimated James by bringing over two hundred guys to surround him. It became glaringly obvious that Ray's initial estimation was far too low.
The two hundred guys around JZL Medical Clinic were nothing compared to the thousand-plus people closing in from the streets.
The high-maintenance women, now visibly shaken, scrambled backward in panic.
Cedric's face was heavy with concern.
"Who the hell are you?"
Even if Ray was an idiot, he knew his intel was way off.
He glared at James. "Why have I never heard of you?"For someone with James' apparent power, Ray thought he should be a well-known figure. Instead, this was his first encounter with the man.
Ray also spotted several familiar faces in the crowd, like Jared, Stephen, and Jonathan.
Though Ray and Jared's group had never been on friendly terms and often clashed, he knew they were notorious for their ruthlessness.
Now, these notoriously difficult characters were backing James with an almost reverent respect. Ray had no choice but to reassess James' position.
"Rosewood City has twenty million people. There's plenty you don't know." James glanced at Cedric and the others. "Enough talk. Kneel down, surrender, and I'll spare your lives."
Troy and his crew shouted, "Kneel down! Surrender!"
Over a thousand people had completed the encirclement, with ten people watching every two, firmly suppressing Cedric's group.
'Kneel down? Surrender?'
Cedric and his crew hesitated. In the past, if anyone dared to shout at them like this, they would've killed them without a second thought.
But now, their arrogance was gone.
They still had their pride and dignity, making it a tough call.
Kneeling down and surrendering was a huge humiliation, making them a laughingstock in Rosewood City forever.
James didn't waste words, waving his right hand. "Kill!"
Troy and his men erupted into a violent uprising, their blades flashing as they struck down their chosen targets with ruthless efficiency.
The collective scream of pain resounded through the air like a tsunami crashing against the eardrums of the observers.
Members of the Garcia family fell like dry grass cut down by the scythe of fate, their cries and struggles filling the air with despair.
"I'll fight you to the death." Seeing his companions fall and James being so arrogant, Cedric roared, swinging an axe toward James.
Cedric's movements were fast and fierce, but James was faster and fiercer.
Before the axe could touch James, he had already punched Cedric in the nose.
Cedric screamed, flying backward.
His nose was flattened, his face a mask of blood, and the pain was so intense he could hardly hold onto the axe, writhing in agony on the ground.
Several women screamed in terror, no longer showing any disdain for James.
James didn't stop, stepping forward and breaking Cedric's leg with a stomp.
Then, he looked around and shouted, "Kneel down, surrender!"
Ray was furious. "James."
"I surrender, I surrender!"
"I surrender too."
Seeing Cedric lying on the ground incapacitated, what was left of The Garcia family's henchmen knelt down, hands raised in surrender, dreading the blood-stained blades.
None of them saw it as a shame; in the face of survival, kneeling seemed trivial.
James tilted his head slightly, and Troy led his men to knock Cedric and the others to the ground, tying them up.
The once-aggressive Garcia family group now had only Ray standing.
"James! Don't push me too far!" Facing the encroaching crowd, Ray shouted, "I'm the chairman of the Garcia Group, a big deal in Rosewood City. You can't humiliate me."
James's tone was cold. "Kneel down and speak."
"Kneel down and speak?" Ray was enraged, laughing in anger. "James, who do you think you are? In all of Rosewood City, there's no one who can make me, Ray, kneel down and speak. Even if there is, the Garcia family cannot be humiliated."
Though James had many people, Ray, besides his Garcia family background, was also a highly skilled martial artist.
Fighting a hundred people alone was no problem, and breaking through a bloody path was easy.
Ten years ago, by chance, he became the last disciple of one of the top ten hitmen, but he kept it quiet to avoid trouble.
Ray hadn't wanted to reveal himself tonight, but with James treating him so arrogantly, he didn't want to hide anymore.
"Bastard, today, I'll show you." Ray drew a short sword. "What a truly skilled martial artist is!"
James sneered, his steps flashing, instantly appearing in front of Ray, slapping him.
Ray's short sword vibrated, power bursting forth, the sword light shining brightly.
But the next moment, Ray was slapped away by James.
In the face of James' slap, his martial prowess was worthless.
Ray fell to the ground, his short sword flying away, a palm print on his face.
Before Ray could get up, James stepped forward and slapped him again.
Ray screamed, falling back again.
"A skilled martial artist, huh?
"The Garcia family cannot be humiliated, huh?"
James scolded while slapping, hitting Ray until he groaned, his cheeks swelling.
"And so what if I insult you? Joseph is immoral, and so are you. Clearly, your upbringing was lacking. Don't you understand?"
Ray, bleeding from his nose and mouth, roared in anger. He was a well-rounded big shot, the last disciple carefully trained.
But now, he was being beaten like a dog, unable to fight back.
And it was with slaps!
If James had used some ultimate move to suppress him, Ray would have accepted it, but the slaps were too simple and plain.
Yet he couldn't block them no matter what!
"Come on, you so-called Garcia family member, tell me."
"What does 'cannot be humiliated' mean?"
James raised his hand for another slap.
At this moment, the so-called "cannot be humiliated" was a joke.
In front of the onlookers, James slapped Ray again and again, leaving him bruised and battered, while everyone watched in stunned silence.
Even Cedric was dumbfounded.
He had seen Ray kill a bull with one sword; Ray's swordsmanship was amazing. How could he be so weak now?
Finally, with one last slap, Ray was sent flying!
He struggled on the ground for a while, spitting out blood and trying to get up.
James walked up to him, raising his hand once more.
Ray, utterly defeated, fell to his knees.
Fear had taken over.
