Chapter 359 Collective Bewilderment
While chaos reigned at the Howard Villa, James was charging into the Rivera Manor.
The sun had already set, and the sky was dark. The lights were on, but they only made the night feel more desolate.
The evening breeze added to the eerie atmosphere, making the whole estate seem haunted.
"Mr. Williams, hurry up!"
As soon as James appeared at the front gate, Kaida rushed out to meet him, looking disheveled, and pulled him straight to the backyard.
On the way, they passed guards and bodyguards armed with shields and batons, all with grave expressions.
"Mr. Williams, after you left, Mr. Hayes took a break and then started exorcising Mrs. Rivera, giving her some pills."
"But halfway through, Mrs. Rivera woke up, just as you said, with a blackened forehead and blood streaming from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth."
"Ingrid tried to help her, but Mrs. Rivera bit off two of her fingers and tore the arms of several servants."
"A dozen bodyguards tried to restrain her, but she severely injured them with punches and kicks."
"Mr. Rivera couldn't escape in time and was almost strangled to death by Mrs. Rivera. Luckily, I threw your life-saving talisman just in time."
"The talisman burned Mrs. Rivera, giving me a chance to save Mr. Rivera."
"Now, dozens of bodyguards are surrounding her, but since they can't use guns or knives, they're only using shields to suppress her. The situation is dire."
Kaida explained everything to James as they ran.
James asked, "Where's Mr. Hayes?"
"He ran off as soon as things went wrong, saying he needed to write some talismans. But Mr. Rivera didn't let him leave and insisted he solve the problem at any cost."
Kaida briefly explained, "He wrote a few talismans, but I don't know how effective they are."
James nodded lightly and followed Kaida to the backyard.
There, dozens of people surrounded the area, each holding a shield, baton, or electric rod, and some with ropes, all staring ahead as if facing a formidable enemy.
Over twenty people lay on the ground, with broken arms or legs, and several had torn ears.
The scene was filled with cries of pain and blood, a gruesome sight.
Gerald was protected by seven or eight shields, but he still shouted, "No guns, no knives!"
Despite the injuries, Gerald didn't want Marcella to be harmed.
Kaida called out, "Mr. Rivera, Mr. Williams is here!"
"James!" Gerald emerged from behind the shields, his face filled with guilt and regret.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong. Please, help me!"
Gerald was deeply remorseful, blaming himself for his poor judgment.
Gerald slapped himself twice and then knelt down, pleading, "Please!"
Gerald was exhausted and desperate. He didn't want the estate to be drenched in blood, but he also didn't want Marcella to be shot to death.
Without taking drastic measures against Marcella, he couldn't stop her. He could only hope James could help.
"Mr. Rivera, you're too kind." James helped Gerald up. "If I held a grudge against you, I wouldn't have come."
"Don't worry, I'll handle this." James patted Gerald's shoulder. "I'll return Mrs. Rivera to normal."
"If you can solve this and restore Marcella, I swear, from now on, your problems are my problems."
Gerald's voice was firm. "Anyone who wants to harm you will have to go through me first."
Kaida's eyes lit up slightly. She knew the weight of this promise. James could now act with impunity in Glowing Oasis.
James took out a gem and smiled, "Alright, let's fix this."
He followed Kaida to the front.
Soon, James saw Marcella in her nightgown, blood streaming from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, fighting the bodyguards.
She wasn't using any techniques, just charging, punching, kicking, and tearing, easily overpowering the Rivera Group's bodyguards.
She was incredibly strong.
As James squinted, Marcella roared and flipped six shields off her.
She then moved quickly, appearing in front of a bodyguard and tearing his arm off.
Blood spurted out instantly.
The bodyguard screamed and fainted from the blood loss.
The next second, Marcella threw the body into the crowd, knocking down five or six people.
She was unstoppable.
"Monster, I'll subdue you."
As Marcella was about to continue fighting, Clifford finally charged out with a holy sword, throwing several talismans.
"Lightning magic."
The talismans burned, causing Marcella to pause slightly.
Ingrid and several women emerged to watch, seeing Clifford in high spirits and suppressing Marcella, they cheered.
"Mr. Hayes is mighty!"
"Mr. Hayes is skilled!"
"Mr. Hayes is invincible."
Amidst the praise, Marcella regained her cold demeanor, grabbed the flames, and extinguished them, showing no fear.
"Monster, take my sword."
Clifford shouted, charging with his sword.
Marcella didn't retreat, instead, she punched Clifford.
Her fist broke the sword and hit Clifford's chest.
Clifford screamed, spitting blood in mid-air, but before he could fall, Marcella grabbed his left arm.
Marcella tore off Clifford's left arm and grabbed his collar.
Clifford screamed again, but his survival instinct made him struggle free and crawl away.
Marcella kicked him.
Clifford blocked with a compass.
The block felt like being hit by a train, sending Clifford rolling several feet.
As he got up, Marcella was already in front of him, her fingers glowing.
Clifford rolled aside, avoiding a disfiguring blow, but his back was scratched, bleeding heavily.
Clifford endured the pain and ran.
"Run, run, this monster is too strong, we can't win!"
Before Clifford could finish, Marcella caught up and knocked him down again.
Clifford got up and ran, but Marcella caught up and knocked him down again, from east to west, then west to south.
After several rounds, Clifford couldn't run anymore.
He wasn't dead, but he was gasping, his back covered in wounds, bleeding heavily.
He couldn't run anymore.
Seeing Clifford knocked down, Ingrid and the women panicked and shattered.
Gerald and the others were heartbroken and helpless.
Kaida pulled Gerald back. "Mr. Rivera, let's retreat."
Marcella's strength was beyond their imagination. She worried James might not be able to handle it.
"Run? Why run!"
James charged with the gem, "It's time to end this!"
"You again, you fraud? You're going to die." Seeing James charge, Ingrid mocked through her pain.
"Exactly, so many bodyguards couldn't hold her, what can you do?"
"Clifford couldn't do it, what can a doctor do?"
"Come back, don't mess things up, do you want to get us killed?"
"You're just trying to show off and get our attention, aren't you?"
Ingrid and her companions sneered. If Clifford couldn't do it, what could James do?
But before they could finish mocking, their faces froze.
Their mouths hung open.
They were utterly shocked.
Gerald and the others instinctively looked over, seeing the unstoppable Marcella stop when she saw James.
The next second, Marcella turned and ran.
Everyone was stunned!
