Chapter 97 Sat Up
Life Gem, seven pieces represented life, while the other seven represented death.
James had initially used up the seven pieces of life to save his mother and then Sophia, which forced him to learn medical skills to save people and accumulate more.
He worked hard for a month, saving Raymond and Jacob, and finally managed to gather seven pieces of life, only to use them all up in one go tonight.
He felt a bit frustrated.
However, James also wanted to see if the seven pieces of life could bring a 'dead' person back to life.
White light successively flowed into David's body.
Although the nurses had long removed the instruments, James could clearly feel that David, whose vital signs were about to reach zero, was gradually regaining life.
Various internal injuries were also slowly healing.
However, David didn't wake up immediately, which left James puzzled. James thought, 'Could it be that seven life pieces are not enough to save him?'
Thinking of this, James immediately took out silver needles and began to perform the Nine Palace Reviving Needle on David.
"Seventy percent chance? Needles? Nonsense!" Katherine Gomez was furious upon hearing this. "Brain death, how could there be any chance of saving him? And with such a different method."
Katherine shouted, "James, this is not the time for you to show off. Get out of here immediately, or I'll call the police to arrest you."
In her view, James was not only causing trouble but also embarrassing the doctors. However, she did not step forward to pull him away, fearing that the Miller family might think she had ulterior motives.
She looked towards Scott. "Mr. Scott, Mr. David has already died tragically enough. How can you bear to let him be tormented like this?"
Several high-ranking police officers couldn't stand it any longer and couldn't help but say, "Mr. Scott, let Mr. David rest in peace."
Scott's expression was very complicated. He hoped James could save David, but judging from the doctors' words, David was clearly already dead.
No matter how skilled James was, he couldn't bring the dead back to life, especially using silver needles. At the very least, there should be blood transfusions, electric shocks, and the like.
It seemed he was indeed overthinking, treating James as a lifeline.
He staggered to James and said, "James, thank you, but let David go in peace."
"Give me thirty minutes." James didn't even lift his eyelids, responding calmly to Scott. "In half an hour, I'll give you a miracle."
Scott was slightly stunned, very surprised by James's confidence.
"Thirty minutes? Even if you had three hours, you couldn't save Mr. David." Katherine was furious. "James, can you stop causing trouble? Your disruption is not only annoying us but also a disrespectful offense to Mr. David."
She glared at James and said, "We are the top doctors in this hospital. If we declare Mr. David dead, not even God can save him."
Several female nurses also gave James disdainful looks, thinking that he was being utterly unreasonable.
"You can't do it, and it doesn't mean I can't." James glanced at her. "There are always people better than you. Don't you understand?"
"I can't? I'm Katherine, from a family of doctors. I graduated from medical school, three years of practice, and am the new deputy director of this hospital." Gomez laughed angrily. "Tell me, which prestigious school did you graduate from?"
James shrugged and replied, "Sorry, I didn't graduate from medical school, nor have I worked in any hospital."
"Not a medical school graduate. Never worked in a hospital. So, you're self-taught." Gomez shouted, "Ridiculous, how dare a doctor of unknown origin question my medical skills?"
The medical staff were in an uproar.
They had once thought James was some renowned doctor. Otherwise, why would Scott have chosen him? Who knew he was an unknown physician?
This was pure nonsense.
Several female nurses pursed their lips, full of disdain and contempt.
Scott's expression also showed a hint of embarrassment.
"If you're so great, why can't you cure your skin disease?" James spoke unceremoniously, "A mere minor illness makes you wish you were dead. You are no better than me, an unknown doctor."
As he spoke, James's hands continued to move, constantly channeling life force through the silver needles into David.
He had already discovered that the seven pieces of life were enough to save David; the injuries were too severe, and the healing was slow. The Nine Palace Reviving Needle wasn't even necessary.
However, James didn't stop. In addition to adding an extra layer of assurance, he wanted to make it easier for everyone to accept that he could bring someone back to life.
Otherwise, if David came back to life with just a touch, everyone would think he was a monster.
"Your skin disease, it's been about ten years, hasn't it?" As the thought crossed his mind, James added another sentence. "Ten years, and you still can't cure yourself. Your medical skills are quite lacking."
Gomez was stunned and asked, "How do you know I have a skin disease?"
She didn't know why, but whenever the weather got hot or the wind blew hard, her whole body would itch and hurt terribly. No amount of ointment or medication helped.
She had always kept this secret, not letting outsiders know to prevent any scrutiny of her medical skills. But she didn't expect James to reveal it in one sentence.
James smirked, "That's the difference in our levels."
"So what if you have some skills?" Gomez was both ashamed and angry. "I don't believe a brain-dead person can come back to life."
Her worldview and her knowledge all made her certain that David could not be revived.
"Let's make a bet." James's fingers twisted the silver needle. "If I bring hi, back to life, you go to JZL Medical Clinic and sweep the floor for me."
The clinic was short-staffed, and James was okay with finding a few more people to help.
"Sweep the floor?" Gomez laughed angrily. "If he doesn't come back to life, you clean the hospital toilets for three years."
"Okay." James agreed without hesitation. "Get ready to sweep the floor for me."
Gomez said, "Utterly childish."
Gomez dismissed it, completely convinced that James was a fraud.
James ignored her, twisted his fingers, and inserted the final needle.
He shouted suddenly, "Wake up!"
A flash of light.
As the words fell, a young nurse's body trembled instantly, and her scream echoed throughout the emergency room.
Gomez and the others instinctively looked up.
The next second, they were all stunned!
Because the 'dead' David on the hospital bed actually sat up.
He really sat up!
And he opened his eyes!
How could this be?
"Oh my God, is this a person or a ghost?" Gomez stepped back more than ten steps in fright, her pretty face filled with nothing but shock.
A few young nurses fell to the ground, their legs trembling uncontrollably.
Scott called out, "David."
His joy was overwhelming.
Several nurses hurriedly reconnected the instruments.
The machines instantly came to life, all showing normal readings.
Gomez and the others couldn't accept it.
He really came back to life.
How was this possible?
James lifted Gomez's chin and said, "Remember, go to JZL Medical Clinic to sweep the floor on Monday."
