Chapter 84 Conflict
"It really is a small world," James quipped, but he paid them no mind and continued chatting with Samuel after ordering their food.
In the midst of their conversation, the glass door swung open again, and a group of swaggering, arrogant men and women trekked in.
Noticing the many eyes upon them, they puffed up even more, clearly reveling in the attention.
A strikingly beautiful man, around thirty years old, led the group.
Yes, beautiful, not handsome.
With an oval face, rosy lips, white teeth, and delicate features, his appearance was quite enchanting.
If he were to don long hair and light makeup, he would undoubtedly outshine most women.
However, his pretty face bore an expression of cynicism, and his narrow eyes gleamed with a strange light.
Harry waved his hand theatrically as the group escorted him to a large table.
Samuel's eyelid twitched, and he whispered to James, "James, that's Harry, the heir to BH Bank and the chairman of Overlord Pharmaceutical."
James glanced up, surprised to encounter the man who had been a thorn in Skylar's side.
At that moment, several waiters were nervously calling out, "Mr. Jones."
Harry didn't even look at them, striding forward with the confidence of a dragon. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he looked at Brian.
Harry asked, "Isn't this Brian? I heard you were sick. Still not dead, huh? Why didn't you say hello?"
He walked straight up to Brian. "You really don't want to see me, do you?"
"Yes, yes," Brian, usually so formidable, now nodded and bowed like a meek lamb under James's astonished gaze. "I didn't see you. I'm sorry, Harry."
Brian's face was all smiles, but no matter how he tried to mask his emotions, everyone present could see his reluctance.
"Didn't you notice me? Are you visually impaired? Don't furrow your brows. Smile at me," Harry said, playfully pinching Brian's cheek. "Come on, flash me a grin."
The once arrogant Brian did not dodge or resist, submitting meekly and forcing a grim smile.
The proud Brian now seemed like a helpless, weak child. Though the Robinson family had assets worth millions of dollars and were quite influential among their peers, they were nothing compared to Harry.
"That smile is hideous," Harry said, patting Brian's cheek. "You seemed so reluctant."
"No, no, I am more than happy to see Mr. Jones," Brian said, his face a mix of embarrassment and fear, shrinking back. "I was just a bit overwhelmed."
"Overwhelmed?" Harry laughed wildly, clearly enjoying Brian's fearful demeanor. Then his eyes lit up as he noticed the beautiful Jennifer and Donna. "Are these two your friends?"
Brian's heart skipped a beat, and he pointed to Jennifer, "This is my girlfriend, Jennifer, and this is Donna, my classmate."
Jennifer and Donna didn't shy away, smiling sweetly and greeting, "Hello, Mr. Jones."
"Not bad. They are quite the lookers," Harry commented, resting a hand on Jennifer's shoulder. "Jennifer, I've brought along a bottle of exquisite wine. How about accompanying me to a private room to savor it?"
"I'll say this upfront. I don't particularly appreciate being contradicted. If you refuse, I'll be very upset," he added, his other hand moving to Jennifer's thigh.
"I'm not very good at drinking. I can only manage a couple of glasses," Jennifer cooed her voice coy, making Harry's smile widen.
"Harry, she's my girlfriend," Brian interjected, quickly removing Harry's hand from Jennifer's shoulder. "I'd appreciate it if you could respect that."
Harry landed a swift slap on Brian's face, making him recoil with a muted groan as a smear of blood appeared in his mouth's corner.
"Respect? What respect?" Harry's gaze turned frosty, "You hold no respect in my domain."
Brian, clutching his cheek, shouted, "Harry, she's my girlfriend."
"Even if she were your wife, if I fancy her, I'd still sleep with her!" Harry shoved Brian aside and brazenly wrapped his arm around Jennifer, smiling. "Jennifer, I formally invite you to join our wine party."
Jennifer didn't push Harry away; instead, she leaned in and smiled. "Mr. Jones is so gracious. How could I refuse and be so impolite?"
She didn't know Harry's identity, but anyone who could make Brian so fearful must have a background far superior to the Robinson family.
Brian pleaded anxiously. "Jennifer, it's getting late. Let me take you home."
"It's just past eight, still early." Jennifer didn't hesitate to reject Brian's request. "I'm going to have a drink with Mr. Jones. I'll go home later by myself. You should leave first."
Brian's face turned pale. "Jennifer, you can't go."
"Brian, the more friends, the more help." Jennifer spoke lightly, "It's no big deal to have a couple of drinks with Mr. Jones. You should go home and rest. See you tomorrow."
"Exactly," Donna also chimed in. "It's just a drink. It's no big deal. Brian, don't be so petty. Moreover, Mr. Jones is your good friend. You should trust him. He won't do anything to Jennifer."
Donna went all out to persuade Brian. "Don't worry, I'll make sure Jennifer is safe. You can rest assured about that."
Brian was so furious he could hardly speak.
"Very good. I like smart women," Harry chuckled, giving Donna a playful nudge. "Why don't you join us, beautiful?"
Donna's eyes sparkled. "Thank you, Mr. Jones. It's my honor to share a drink with you."
Harry drew Jennifer and Donna closer, planting a firm kiss on each of their cheeks. "You've brightened my evening. The Ferrari parked outside is now yours. Furthermore, come to Overlord Pharmaceutical tomorrow. I'd like you to be my personal secretaries, with a monthly salary of thirty thousand dollars."
At his words, Jennifer and Donna's faces lit up even more. "It's all your call."
Overlord Pharmaceutical was worth more than a dozen Robinson families.
Harry looked at Brian. "Brian, you should go home first. I'll send Jennifer back later."
"This is too much." Brian's eyes reddened as he grabbed a chair and charged forward.
Harry's eyes turned icy. He leaped forward, kicking Brian away in an instant. The speed and power of that kick were beyond ordinary imagination.
Jennifer and Donna's eyes grew even more fervent.
James was momentarily stunned, surprised by Harry's prowess. He had thought Harry was just a ne'er-do-well, not expecting him to be such a skilled fighter.
Without waiting for Harry's command, several of his companions rushed forward, raining punches and kicking on Brian.
Brian's screams filled the air, and soon he was covered in blood.
"What a waste," Harry scoffed, brushing off his clothes and walking forward with Jennifer and Donna in his arms.
"Jennifer, you traitor." Brian attempted to get up, only to be swiftly kicked back down. His recently healed arm broke again in an instant.
Harry cracked his neck, striding forward and delivering a powerful kick that sent Brian flying several meters away.
Brian let out a horrible scream, rolling a few times before coming to a stop right at James's feet.
