Chapter 396 The Gonzalez Family

While Clarence and the crew were busy at the police station, Olivia had called James over to Sky Pavilion for a little celebration.

Sure, Isaac was dead and a bunch of bodyguards got hurt, but compared to what the Lee family had feared, this was nothing.

They had been bracing for the worst, thinking the whole family might go down with Molly.

But now, with way less damage than they expected, they were over the moon.

Sky Pavilion was all spruced up, red carpet on the floor, flowers and plants everywhere. You'd never guess a fight had gone down there.

As soon as James showed up, Trevor was there to greet him, "James, I heard you went after White Shadow and her gang. How'd it go? You okay?"

Trevor knew how to play it. Instead of asking about White Shadow, he checked on James, showing he cared.

"White Shadow's dead, and I took down Molly's son, but I didn't kill him," James said, summing it up. "He's a bit unhinged, but I've got him under control. He won't be a problem for the Lee family anymore."

James's tone was firm, hoping the Lee family would let it go and avoid more trouble.

"Thanks, James!"

Trevor and the others were relieved and grateful.

Even though Dax wasn't dead, the feud was settled, and James had handled it, keeping the Lee family safe.

Olivia looked at James with bright eyes, practically drooling over him.

James didn't stick around with Trevor and the others. He went straight to check on the nearly thousand poisoned folks. After diagnosing them, he quickly prescribed treatments.

A few hours later, everyone was out of danger. Those who had been on death's door were now full of life, ecstatic.

No one had ever survived Molly's poison before.

Around five o'clock, Trevor invited James and a few others to a banquet.

James was now a VIP for the Lee family. Everyone treated him with the utmost respect.

Olivia stayed close, pouring drinks and playfully teasing him.

Patricia still had her cold demeanor, but she wasn't as haughty as she had been in Rosewood City. Her gaze towards James now held a hint of admiration.

Gerald was all smiles, clearly feeling that befriending James was the right move.

James's medical skills alone were enough to put him at the top of society.

Trevor clapped his hands, and a trusted aide brought over a tray.

On the tray were a check, a bank card, and some documents.

Before James could ask, Trevor stood up, clapped James on the shoulder, and laughed, "James, this check is for one hundred million dollars, the cost for thirty Toxiclear Elixirs."

"This bank card has ten billion dollars, a reward for 'curing' me today."

"And this contract is for a twenty percent stake in the Lee Group, which was controlled by Isaac."

Trevor laid it out. "Please accept these as a favor to me."

Even though everyone had an idea of what was coming, Trevor's words still left them stunned.

Patricia narrowed her eyes.

This was worth two hundred billion dollars.

If James signed the contract, he'd become the second-largest shareholder in the Lee Group, with more shares than Patricia, Trevor's own daughter.

Olivia was thrilled. The money was one thing, but it showed Trevor's recognition of James.

Gerald wasn't surprised. Trevor was shrewd but never stingy with money.

James was initially taken aback, then quickly waved his hands. "You're too kind. I can't accept these. I did all these just for Olivia."

"Besides, you weren't really sick, so I didn't actually cure you. I can't accept this," James said, trying to keep things light.

With Patricia and Olivia around, James wanted to keep his cool and be a gentleman.

"Why can't you accept it?" Trevor asked, shaking his head with a smile. "Without your Toxiclear Elixir, I wouldn't have dared to take today's risks."

Trevor continued, "Without today's actions, Molly and Isaac might still be alive. My original plan was to fake my death to lure out Molly, but I wouldn't have gotten close to her because I feared her Sorcerous Poison. But with your Toxiclear Elixir, I had the confidence to take the risk, making the assassination more secure."

"Most importantly, you saved many Lee family members today. Without your medical skills, all the poisoned people would have died. There are at least a thousand people lying outside and in the hall. You saved them all and resolved our crisis. You deserve these."

Trevor personally placed the check, bank card, and contract in James's hands.

James shook his head again. "Mr. Lee, if you really want to thank me, give them to Olivia."

"That's a separate matter. Olivia will have her own reward for her excellent performance," Trevor insisted, pushing the money and shares towards James. "These belong to you."

He added with a smile, "Besides, if you don't accept, I won't feel comfortable making a request."

James was puzzled. "What is it?"

Olivia softly interjected, "My grandfather wants the formula for Toxiclear Elixir. Although there won't be another Molly, we were truly terrified this time, so we want to buy the life-saving formula from you. As long as we can afford it, you can name your price."

"That's right," Trevor joked. "This request is a bit abrupt, so if you don't accept my gifts, how can I ask to buy it?"

Patricia also smiled, "James, accept it. If you don't, my father won't be able to sleep."

"Yes, James, accept it. The money may seem like a lot, but it's nothing to Trevor," Gerald chimed in with a smile. "He donates over thirty billion dollars every year."

Seeing everyone urging him, James thought for a moment and finally nodded reluctantly. "Alright, I'll accept. Thank you for your generosity."

James signed the contract and put away the check and bank card. He could see that Trevor wanted to use this opportunity to get closer to him, knowing that having a doctor like James was immensely beneficial. So James didn't want to seem too ungrateful.

"Here's the Toxiclear Elixir formula," James said, writing it down and handing it to Trevor. "But I won't accept money for this. Consider it a gift."

"Great, you're so straightforward, I won't be coy either," Trevor said, delighted, clapping James on the shoulder and laughing. "I'll consider this Olivia's wedding gift."

Olivia blushed and protested, "Grandpa, what are you talking about?"

Patricia and the others laughed.

Just as James was feeling a headache, Gerald's phone vibrated. He frowned as he answered, and his expression changed. "What? The poisoned patients from yesterday are in serious condition? Alright, I'm on my way!"

James stood up. "Mr. Rivera, what's going on?"

"The poisoned patients from last night were supposed to be given medicine by Kaida, but someone stopped her," Gerald explained, saying goodbye to Trevor. "The situation is serious. I need to go check."

"I'll go with you," James said, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "But who would dare stop Kaida from administering the medicine?"

"Isla Gonzalez," Gerald's eyes turned cold. "The Gonzalez Family is really making a scene."
