Chapter 127 A Hand and a Leg as Promised

Joel shouted, "Take this guy down."

A group of his subordinates, filled with murderous intent, were ready to attack James. Those two slaps not only hit Stacy but also provoked them.

Seizing the opportunity, Stacy clung to Joel's arm and cried out pitifully.

Stacy said, "Mr. Thompson, did you see that? He's so arrogant. Not only did he hit me, but he also dared to hit me right in front of you. He's showing you no respect at all. This is outrageous, completely disregarding the Thompson family."

She was stirring up trouble.

Joel waved his hand to stop the crowd from charging and then gave James a thumbs-up with a smile.

Joel said, "Very good. I've seen a lot of arrogant people, but you're the first to provoke me like this. I'm not going to waste words with you. Break one of his hands and one of his legs. The girl stays with me for three days, and this matter will be settled."

Joel added, "If you don't agree, I'll give you an hour to call for backup. If you can intimidate me and my subordinates, I'll kneel and bow to send you off. If you can't, I'll add another hand. Got it?"

Joel's tone was calm but carried an unmistakable contempt and arrogance.

It seemed as if he had the entire Rosewood City under his foot.

Harmony and her friends were gloating.

"A hand and a leg? Stay with you for three days?" James smirked, his tone laced with sarcasm. "And who do you think you are?"

Joel's face turned cold. "Now I'm angry."

Harmony, who was standing by the side, couldn't stand it any longer. She shouted at James, who was acting tough. "You're ridiculously childish. Do you really think you can mess with the powerful and influencial Thompson family?"

"Get him!" Joel waved his hand.

Several bodyguards moved forward.

The cronies also surged forward menacingly.

James didn't waste words. He took out his phone, dialed a number, and put it on speaker.

The other end quickly picked up, and a hearty laugh came through.

"James, good afternoon. What made you call me?"

Hearing this voice, Joel's smile froze instantly.

"Mr. Thompson, I'm dealing with someone named Joel, a white-haired guy. Is he related to you?" James's voice was steady as he spoke into the phone. "If he is, I'll break one of his hands and one of his legs. If he's not, I'll break both hands and both legs."

Andrew's laughter immediately ceased. "James, he's my nephew."

Before Andrew could finish, James stepped forward and kicked Joel to the ground.

In the next second, he stomped on Joel's calf with a crack.

The entire place fell silent.

The snap of a leg bone breaking resonated throughout the corridor, and Joel's agonizing scream sent chills down everyone's spines.

Stacy and her friends, who had been openly scoffing at James for his audacity, were suddenly shocked by the scene unfolding before them. They never expected James's recklessness to reach such an extreme.

He didn't just dare to lay his hands on Stacy, but he also showed no regard for Joel. In their eyes, he was digging his own grave.

They had heard James making a call, but it didn't register at the moment, and they certainly didn't connect the dots that Mr. Thompson was actually Andrew.

The dozen or so cronies were furious. They were used to bullying others, not being bullied.

They surrounded James with their bodyguards, ready to tear him apart.

James didn't even look at them. He stared at the enraged Joel and shouted,  "Mr. Thompson, are you going to walk out of here with your people, or should I break all your limbs and have someone carry you out?"

James's tone was casual but exuded a powerful aura.

"Don't move." Joel stopped his companions and then glared at James. "Who are you?"

James replied, "Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is what you've done."

Ignoring the spiteful glare from Joel, James walked up to him with his hands clasped behind his back and began to speak, "Harmony Care Hospital nearly killed my father, and you want to break my limbs and sleep with my woman. I broke one of your hands and one of your legs, isn't that fair?"

James added, "And if you don't accept it, I can beat you until you do."

His tone was playful but left no room for doubt. No one thought James was bluffing.

"Mr. Thompson, this bastard is too much. He's completely disregarding the Thompson family." Stacy's face was frosty. "Let's just kill him."

They indignant, wishing they could tear James apart.

Before Joel could respond, his phone rang. He answered it, and Andrew's harsh reprimand came through.

The unprecedented severity of the scolding made Joel's angry expression turn awkward, and then his face became extremely serious.

After listening, he stopped his restless companions again.

Joel looked at James and squeezed out a difficult. "I'm sorry. I was wrong."

He was wrong!

Hearing these words, Stacy and her friends almost fell over, their faces filled with shock. They never expected Joel to bow to James.

Stacy thought to herself, 'Could it be that James has an extraordinary background? Could the phone call he made be the trump card that suppresses Joel?'

Even the arrogant Stacy was slightly dazed, feeling a bit uneasy.

James said, "You were wrong?"

Looking at Joel's grim face, James's smile was not only playful but also filled with contempt and disdain. "Does this broken leg convince you?"

James's mocking gaze made Joel's smile a painful grimace, a silent scream of despair.

Observant people noticed that Mr. Thompson's fists were clenched, and veins were bulging on his forehead, but he still had to force a smile.

Andrew had clearly reprimanded him over the phone. If he didn't want to die or be kicked out of the family, he had to apologize to James immediately.

Joel couldn't figure out James's background, but he believed his protective Uncle Andrew wouldn't deceive him. He forced a smile, unprecedentedly humble.

Joel said, "Mr. Williams, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have bullied others and abused my power."

Enduring the pain, he bowed to James and said, "This lesson was well taught. I admit defeat wholeheartedly."

"Good that you accept it." James then broke his left hand. "Get lost!"

A promise of one hand and one leg meant one hand and one leg.

James quickly left Harmony Care Hospital with Mary and Virgil.

Watching James's back, Joel angrily punched the wall, then pushed away a few companions and made a call with his good right hand.

Joel complained, "Uncle Andrew, I'm aggrieved. Who is he? Why did you tell me to obey him unconditionally? He's not from one of the six major families in Rosewood City nor a prominent family in Stardust City. Why does he get to suppress me like this?"

Joel was seething with resentment, feeling supremely aggrieved. If it wasn't for Andrew restraining him, he could have easily crushed a hundred James.

"He's just a doctor with no significant background." Andrew's tone was calm. "Apart from his medical skills, his connections in Rosewood City are unmatched. He's a friend to Jacob and Patrick, a close friend to Raymond, a benefactor to Olivia, and a guest of honor to the Miller family brothers."

Joel's anger subsided by half, but he still stubbornly said, "So what? James is just their friend, and I'm your nephew. Would Jacob and the others really go to war with you over James?"

Compared to friendship, Joel believed more in family ties and interests.

"The Watson brothers offended James. One is serving a life sentence, and the other died in a car accident." Andrew's tone was indifferent. "Tommy and his son provoked James. One was shot to death, and the other's head was blown off. Do you think you're tougher than Bryan or more experienced than Tommy?"

Andrew added, "I can tell you, if James kills you, the Thompson family can't do anything about it."

This last sentence instantly shattered Joel's anger.
