Chapter 75 Caught

When James returned to JZL Medical Hall with Samuel and Kelsey, there were already five or six law enforcement vehicles parked at the entrance.

Representatives from the FAD and the police were present.

About twenty uniformed men and women surrounded JZL Medical Hall, gesticulating and looking fierce.

At the forefront stood a fat man and a tall man. The fat man, dressed in white attire with "Medical Bureau" written on the back, was named Harold Garcia. The tall man, clad in a police uniform, was named Kyle Smith.

The two had been partners for years and sworn friends. They specialized in shutting down illegal clinics and small medical halls. Today, their target was clear: JZL Medical Clinic.

Jared and his team, wearing safety helmets, blocked the entrance, preventing Harold and Kyle from entering JZL Medical Hall.

With so many people around, there was a risk of being framed, which would complicate matters.

James also spotted Jonathan, who was carrying several baskets filled with food from Whispering Willow Retreat.

It was evident that this guy had come to JZL Medical Hall to curry favor as well.

"Mr. Harold, Mr. Kyle, good morning," Samuel ran over before James could speak, shaking hands with the two leaders and smiling. "What brings you here?" He quickly pulled out a box of cigarettes for them.

Samuel had met the two a few times while mingling in various circles and knew they were scoundrels, so he hoped to resolve the issue with a small bribe. "Here, have a cigarette. It's almost noon. You all must be working hard," Samuel said with a smile. "Later, let's go to Whispering Willow Retreat for a few drinks to cool off."

"Get lost!" Harold, knowing Samuel was a fallen aristocrat, rudely pushed him away. "Don't try that with me. I'm on duty. Get your boss out here, or we'll shut the place down."

Kyle pointed at the disheveled Jared and his team, "And you all, aiding and abetting, will be taken in for investigation."

Samuel stepped forward with a smile. "Mr. Harold, Mr. Kyle, we can sit down and discuss this."

"Get lost! We received a report that this is an illegal clinic," Harold shouted, his eyes wide. "JZL Medical Hall's paperwork is incomplete, and the doctors are practicing illegally. You better cooperate with the investigation."

"An illegal clinic?" Several patients who had arrived early for treatment were shocked. "That's impossible. We've been coming here for years without any issues, and they never overcharge."

"Yes, JZL Medical Clinic has been around longer than your grandfathers. There's no way their paperwork isn't in order," the patients looked at Harold and his team with suspicion. "Are you out of your mind?"

The onlookers burst into laughter.

"Don't you understand? JZL Medical Hall is illegal and could kill you. Stop getting treated here," Harold shouted at the patients and their families. "Leave now, or we'll take you in for investigation too."

"Whether they have paperwork or not doesn't matter. Having paperwork doesn't make someone a good doctor or guarantee they can cure people."

"Exactly. Hospitals have all the paperwork, but I had a skin ulcer treated for three months, spent over four thousand dollars, and saw no improvement."

"JL Medical Clinic charged me $4 for a consultation and $15 for three doses of medicine, and my stomachache was cured."

"Especially Mr. Williams. He's a godsend to us."

"The FDA has time to investigate JZL Medical Clinic but not the shady workshops and pharmaceutical companies producing health products that make people vomit and have diarrhea."

More and more patients and onlookers gathered, and the mention of medical treatment stirred up their emotions. They began to criticize Harold and Kyle vehemently.

"Shut up!" Kyle's face darkened as he waved his hand to have his subordinates separate the crowd. He then shouted at Jared and his team, "If you don't move, I'll start arresting people."

The twenty or so uniformed men and women advanced menacingly.

James, who had been closely watching the situation, wore a subtle smile. He chose not to step in right away, hoping to gather some information from their actions, particularly to find out if Mary sent them.

"My name is James. I am the owner of JZL Medical Clinic," James said as he walked up to Harold and Kyle. "What's up?"

Harold's eyes lit up, and then he put on a stern expression, rebuking. "Are you the owner of JZL Medical Hall? Show me your medical practicing license."

With a slight wave of James's hand, Kelsey quickly brought over a booklet. Harold took it and glanced at it, his expression changing slightly. It was a legitimate professional medical license. His voice deepened, "Now show me your business license."

James had Samuel bring over the business license.

Harold's face grew even more unpleasant; this didn't match the information he had. He then widened his eyes. "Where's the pharmaceutical operating license?"

James handed over that license as well.

"Mr. Harold, Mr. Kyle, we are a legitimate clinic with all the necessary paperwork and an excellent reputation," Samuel said with a smile, trying to smooth things over. "The report must be a misunderstanding. It's noon. Let me treat everyone to lunch."

"It's not a misunderstanding," Harold pushed Samuel aside. "If you keep babbling, I'll charge you with obstructing justice."

James stopped Samuel. "Gentlemen, JZL Medical Hall has all the necessary paperwork. Please leave."

"Is that so? Let me see," Kyle said as he took the three documents from Harold, his expression shifting. He glanced at them briefly, then coughed heavily and bent down. With a ripping sound, he tore the three licenses and threw them into a paint bucket. The licenses were immediately stained with paint, making the text illegible.

"I couldn't see clearly. They're too dirty to read," Kyle said with a smile as he picked them up from the bucket with gloved hands. "We'll have to consider them fake."

The next second, he waved his hand and shouted, "Come on. Shut down the clinic! Arrest everyone! Shoot anyone who resists!"

Arrogant and overbearing.

The twenty or so people immediately advanced, holding seals and handcuffs.

Jared and Stephen were all stunned.

They knew they weren't good people and would go to hell after death, but compared to Harold and Kyle, they felt much cleaner.

The truth was distorted, and people were oppressed with power. It was just like that.

Seeing the documents being torn, James didn't get angry. Instead, he laughed openly, his smile bright and vigorous. "Mr. Harold, Mr. Kyle, don't you find yourself rediculous?"

"Shut up!" Harold ordered. "Take them all away!"

James stopped Jared and the others from taking action. In this storm, stepping on these people was meaningless; he wanted to find out who was involved.

Soon, James, Samuel, Jared, and the others were all taken away. Their mobile phones were confiscated by Kyle and his team, who hoped to find evidence of illegal medical practices from them.

The car had just reached halfway when James's phone rang. Kyle picked it up to answer.

A respectful and apologetic voice came from the other end. "Hello, is this Mr. Williams? I am..."

Kyle interrupted rudely. "James was practicing medicine illegally and has been arrested."

The voice on the other end immediately turned cold. "This is David. Who are you?"

"Who I am is none of your business," Kyle snapped, angered by the authoritative tone of the caller, and hung up the phone.
