Chapter 364 Became the Vanguard

Clarence?

Cressida and her friends were stunned. Many of them were locals of Glowing Oasis, so they knew exactly who Clarence was.

Clarence wasn't just a great swimmer; he was the ruler of the Glowing Oasis River. Anyone living by the river had to pay their respects to him, aside from the official authorities.

Cargo ships, cruise liners, sand barges, fishing boats, riverside restaurants... all needed Clarence's approval to operate smoothly.

If anyone crossed him, their boats wouldn't run, or worse, they'd be destroyed, and lives would be lost.

Clarence's ruthlessness, his methods, and his control over the river made him the undisputed Riverfront King.

So when Vincent and his crew realized they had provoked Clarence, they felt a chill run down their spines.

Vincent apologized repeatedly, "Mr. Fisher, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you."

"You know me, huh?" Clarence stepped forward and slapped Vincent several times. "You know me and still mess with my guests? Think your parents had too many kids?"

Vincent's mouth was swollen from the slaps, but he could only continue to bow his head. "I'm sorry, it's my fault."

"You know it's your fault, huh?" Indigo sneered and rushed at Vincent, punching and kicking him.

Vincent was beaten until his nose and mouth bled, his face turning pale.

"Kid, you think you're tough?" Indigo sneered, "You hit my head, kicked me six times, tonight I'll show you how I teach a lesson."

"Indigo, I'm sorry, I was wrong, please let me go."

Vincent held his head and begged for mercy. He was just a stunt coordinator; he couldn't afford to provoke Clarence.

"Let you go? Sure." Indigo grabbed Cressida and laughed, "Tonight, let your woman keep me company."

Cressida was weak and helpless, looking pitiful, but she didn't dare to resist.

"This one looks even better." Indigo suddenly noticed Kaitlyn, his eyes lit up, and he reached out to grab her.

James reached out, grabbed Indigo's hand, and broke it, then kicked him away.

Indigo screamed and flew backward, causing the women to scream in fear.

"Good, good, you dare to hit my guest and even make a move in front of me." Clarence's face twitched with anger, feeling his dignity was severely challenged.

He pressed his hands down and shouted, "Everyone, attack! Kill him!"

With this shout, a dozen strong men charged at James.

The lights were dim, shadows flickered, and Seraphina and her friends couldn't see James clearly, nor could they see how he fought back.

They only saw the attackers falling one by one, screaming like pigs being slaughtered, causing the onlookers to retreat instinctively.

Kaitlyn was both worried and excited.

In less than five minutes, all eighteen strong men were lying on the ground, their arms and legs broken.

And James was completely unharmed.

Clarence's face changed drastically, and he took a step back. "Ezra, take him down!"

An elderly man in gray clothes appeared from behind and quickly reached James.

With a swift and fierce strike, Ezra, Clarence's longtime bodyguard, aimed to kill with one blow.

"Kid! You're dead!" Ezra shouted, a knife flashed from his sleeve, and he stabbed at James without hesitation.

Fast and fierce, with extreme force, Ezra was confident he could seriously injure James with one move.

Kaitlyn instinctively shouted, "James, watch out!"

Just as the knife was about to touch James, he smiled faintly and extended two fingers.

He pinched.

A crisp sound echoed!

Ezra, who was ready to charge forward, suddenly froze, his steps halted, and his sneer was completely fixed!

"How is this possible?"

His knife was pinched by James, as steady as a rock, preventing him from moving forward.

Then, the knife shattered, and Ezra instinctively leaned forward.

James remained still, only the fingers holding the knife fragments, which pierced into Ezra's body.

Ezra's eyes widened in disbelief.

Blood pooled around Ezra, spreading across the ground.

James kicked him away. "You really thought you could take me on?"

Ezra groaned, flying backward and hitting the ground hard. He wasn't dead, but he clutched his wound tightly, not daring to move. The knife fragments were dangerously close to his heart; any movement could be fatal.

Ezra was furious and unwilling but helpless. James was too strong, so strong that he couldn't block a single move.

How was this possible?

Cressida and her friends were all dumbfounded—James not only survived but took down Ezra and his men.

The outcome was completely different from what they had imagined.

It was unbelievable.

"James is so cool," Kaitlyn murmured, showing signs of infatuation.

Even the aloof Seraphina was stunned, never expecting the seemingly insignificant James to be so powerful.

Unfortunately, James lacked background and status. If he had a similar family background, she might have been interested in him.

But with his current status, James could only be an outstanding fighter, never a major player.

"Vincent and his crew were wrong to hit people, but the whole incident was caused by Indigo."

James stepped forward, looking at Clarence and speaking calmly, "Mr. Fisher, you're a man of status, are you really going to ignore the facts?"

Clarence stared at him, his face grim.

He hadn't expected his dozen capable men and the highly skilled Ezra to be unable to defeat a young man.

This kid's skills were terrifying.

Such abilities were rare even in his decades of dominance in Glowing Oasis.

But Clarence was a seasoned leader, able to suppress his anger and speak calmly, "Tonight, I admit defeat. Until we meet again."

James spoke calmly, "Apologize and compensate."

"Everyone, I was reckless tonight. I'm sorry." Clarence smiled at James, apologized to Kaitlyn and the others, paid for the whole night, and then looked at James with a smile. "Your name?"

People of the same kind often have a unique feeling, a glance, a smile, a gesture can convey it.

James looked at Clarence, and Clarence looked at James, with admiration and natural rivalry in their eyes.

"James!" James also wrote down his phone number for him, "Challenge me if you're not convinced."

Clarence laughed heartily, gave James a thumbs up, and then left with his men.

For both of them, tonight was just the beginning, not the end.

"Good, good, very good!"

As Clarence and his men disappeared, applause and cheers suddenly erupted from the second floor of the bar.

The bar lights brightened.

Vincent and his crew looked up and saw an elderly man in a trench coat descending the stairs.

He was tall, with a sharp gaze, moving silently, exuding the aura of a superior.

Behind him were a dozen men and women in combat gear, with an imposing presence, even more impressive than Clarence's men.

"Milo? Mr. Murphy?"

Someone shouted, instantly causing a stir. They hadn't expected the elderly man to be a senior member of the Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance.

He was one of the few big shots in Glowing Oasis and a likely candidate for the next president.

Everyone was watching.

James's face changed slightly upon hearing it was Milo, then he wiped Ezra's blood on his face to cover himself.

"Dad!" Seraphina greeted him, "You finally arrived."

Dad?

Vincent and his crew were stunned, shocked by Seraphina's identity.

James was also surprised, not expecting Milo's daughter to lower herself to be a minor actress.

"I've been here for a while, and luckily I came early, or I would have missed a good show and a talented person."

Milo descended with his powerful aura, causing the onlookers to scatter under the pressure.

"Young man, you're quite skilled, defeating Ezra with one move." Milo walked straight to James and spoke, "Tomorrow night, I'm fighting Ruby in the ring. Be my vanguard and help me out."

"I'll give you one billion dollars as a reward, " he continued, a confident smile on his lips.
