Chapter 191 Bullying with Numbers
Kaitlyn was dead set on sticking with James, so he had no choice but to take her back to Bright Heart Hall Clinic and have her room with Kelsey.
JZL Medical Clinic was almost done with renovations, but the backyard was a mess and couldn't take any patients. So, James moved everything to Bright Heart Hall Clinic for now.
Even though Bright Heart Hall Clinic was only half the size of JZL, it was enough for Mark Anderson and Kelsey to stay.
After getting Kaitlyn settled, James headed back to JZL Medical Clinic.
The video from Glory Bar had come in, clearly showing Mary getting drugged.
Emily, the one behind it, was now on James's hit list.
James made a bunch of calls. The situation with Mary was far from over; it was just getting started.
As he hung up, Olivia called. Her voice was as soft as ever. "James, the Garcia family is looking for you everywhere. They want Joseph back.
"I heard Joseph's dad even showed up."
"Good," James said with a faint smile. "A kid's bad behavior is on the parents. We need to settle things with Joseph properly."
He was planning to go after Emily from the Garcia family, but it looked like they came to him first.
Olivia giggled. "What? Ready to settle things once and for all?"
James chuckled. "Leaving loose ends isn't my style. Spread the word—let the Garcia family know I'm at JZL Medical Clinic."
Half an hour later, a bunch of off-road vehicles roared in, surrounding JZL Medical Clinic.
Under the dim lights, over two hundred people got out of the cars.
Clad entirely in black and armed with nightsticks, they radiated an intimidating aura that made the air thick with tension.
As James sent a text, three more Cadillacs pulled up.
The doors opened, and five or six men and women stepped out.
Leading them was a middle-aged man in gold-rimmed glasses and a trench coat, looking a lot like Joseph.
Flanking him were several tall, striking women, each one exuding an air of cold beauty—some youthful, some mature, some seductive—all wearing a disdainful expression.
Trailing behind them was a burly, bald young man chewing gum with an attitude that screamed,"I'm the best."
The middle-aged man, flanked by his crew, walked up slowly but with a lot of pressure.
James eyed the uninvited guests. "Who are you people?"
"You must be James, right?" The middle-aged man took off his gold-rimmed glasses, wiping them on his sleeve as he asked casually.
His eyes quickly scanned James—young, thin, indifferent. He thought, 'Despite his extraordinary aura, he seems like just another young guy.
' Joseph is truly useless, unable to handle even someone like this with three bodyguards, and now he is facing jail time?'
James didn't respond, just scrutinizing them, figuring they were from the Garcia family.
"Mr. Garcia is asking you a question, are you mute?" The bald young man stepped forward, glaring fiercely.
James spoke calmly, "Joseph's father?"
The bald young man drew a short axe and shouted, "Mr. Garcia's name is not for you to call out recklessly!"
The beautiful women also looked at James mockingly, thinking he was a bit too full of himself.
"Cedric, don't be impulsive." The middle-aged man waved to stop him, then smiled at James. "That's right, I'm Ray Garcia, Joseph's father."
James nodded. "So you are from the Garcia family."
"I have a rough understanding of what happened at Lotus Hotel."
Ray smiled at James, then put on his glasses and stared at him.
"As for right and wrong, there's no need to discuss it. In the adult world, it's survival of the fittest, not about right or wrong."
"I came here for one thing. And that is to take Joseph back in one piece."
"Although the hotel surveillance video was erased and few people saw where Joseph went, I know he ended up in your hands."
As a father, Ray had rushed to the Lotus Hotel the moment he learned something had happened to Joseph, trying to find answers as quickly as possible.
With the hotel surveillance down and Joseph missing, the situation was confusing, but he could deduce from various testimonies that Joseph had been taken by James.
Ray didn't know exactly how James did it, and he didn't care now. He just wanted to take Joseph back safely.
For his son's safety, Ray suppressed his anger and treated James with a gentle attitude.
"Hand him over safely, and the Garcia family won't pursue tonight's matter.
"We will also offer a sum of money to the Smith family. If the Smith family is willing, the Garcia family might even overlook past grievances and accept Mary as part of our family."
Ray spoke with a veneer of politeness and logic, but his smile was unsettling, tinged with a hint of cunning.
Cedric slapped the car forcefully and shouted, "Did you hear that? Hand over Mr. Garcia to me."
The group of striking women eyed James disdainfully. To them, a loser like James encountering a big shot like Ray would only end with him groveling.
"Not holding grudges? Do you even have the right to say that?" James suddenly smiled. "Joseph's assault on Mary hasn't even been settled, and you still dream of marrying her off to him?
"What a family, the Garcia family is truly shameless."
His eyes sparkled with mockery, clearly seeing that Ray was deliberately provoking him, knowing full well that he was Mary's ex-husband, yet forcing Joseph to marry her.
Cedric swung an axe at the windshield and shouted, "Hand him over quickly, or I'll kill you."
The axe struck with a deafening bang, but the windshield remained unscathed, leaving Cedric momentarily stunned. Ray's eyes narrowed in surprise.
Bulletproof.
James looked at them indifferently, his gaze as if looking at dead men.
"James, I know you have some skills," Ray coldly stared at him. "I also know you have a good relationship with Olivia, but that doesn't mean you can mess with the Garcia family.
"You, a son-in-law who was kicked out by the Smithfamily, what right do you have to shout at us?
"Any one of our fingers is enough to ruin you and your mother," Ray calmly and seemingly kindly advised. "Besides, Mary wasn't even hurt in the assault."
The incident happened suddenly, and Ray had limited information, so despite seeing Olivia's name, he still looked down on James.
'What could a son-in-law living with his wife's family do?'
The beautiful women, upon hearing that James was a son-in-law living with his wife's family, instinctively showed a look of disdain.
Clearly, they looked down on men who relied on women.
Facing Ray's pressure, James was intrigued. "You think I can't mess with you?"
Ray spread his hands. "Kid, I don't want to provoke you, but some people are best left alone if you can avoid it."
He felt he was patient enough; if not for worrying about his son's safety, he would have slapped James down long ago.
"Two things."
James didn't waste words.
"First, Joseph is dead for sure, no one can save him. That's my word.
"Second, before dawn, hand over the other culprit, Emily."
His voice dropped to a steely edge,"Or I'll wipe out the entire Garcia family."
Ray’s face twitched with a sardonic smile. He chuckled softly, "Wipe out the Garcia family?"
The women around him tittered with disdain. To them, the idea of someone threatening to take down the Garcia family was laughably naive and delusional.
James straightened up and said, "You will regret this statement.""Ray, this punk is getting on my nerves. I'm losing patience—I'm going to kill him," Cedric roared, brandishing his axe and advancing on James.
"You've got ten minutes. If you don't hand over the guy, I'm going to kill you, your mother, and everyone in your family."
Over two hundred people surrounded them.
The high-maintenance women around Ray exchanged smirks, clearly amused by James' audacity and Cedric's mounting frustration.
James smiled and looked at Ray. "Aren't you going to control your dog?"
Ray sneered darkly, "Can't do it. My boys are hot-blooded. If Cedric doesn't like you, he just doesn't. Nothing I can do about it.” James, no more nonsense from you, and no more nonsense from me. I spoke to you nicely to give you a chance to live, but you didn't appreciate it. Do you really think you have the right to stand on equal footing with me?
"Don't be naive. Even if you struggle for another eighteen years, you won't be able to stand with me. Now, I'll give you one last chance. Within ten minutes, hand over Joseph and break one of your own hands, and I'll spare your life. After ten minutes, if you still act high and mighty, don't blame me for being ruthless."
After saying that, he took two steps back, showing a stance of persistence.
The women's eyes sparkled with admiration for Ray's commanding presence and dominant attitude.
Compared to him, James seemed like an inexperienced and poor loser.
James smiled faintly. "Bullying with numbers?"
Ray nodded seriously. "Yes, bullying with numbers."
Those women around him sneered at James.
Cedric stepped forward, swaggering. "Aren't you going to kneel for me? Do you want me to get angry?"
Over two hundred people sneered and pressed forward.
Just then, a clamor erupted from both ends of the street, followed by a rapid, rhythmic pounding of footsteps.
The sound was steady and powerful, echoing loudly through the night, making hearts race with its intensity.
"Who is it?" Ray and the others instinctively turned their heads.
What they saw made their bodies stiffen in shock.
On either end of the street, shadows began to appear.
Then more shadows emerged, rolling in like a surging tide, overwhelming the scene.
The masses were so dense, it was impossible to count them all!
The next second, voices echoed from the night sky.
"SH Corporation, a trio of hundred brethren!"
"WH Group, a trio of hundred brethren!"
"Bruce Club, a trio of hundred brethren!"
"Here as per directives, anticipating James' decree!"
James hoisted his arm and hollered, "Greetings, brethren!"
"Hello, James!"
Over a thousand people shouted in unison, like a tidal wave.
The high-maintenance women were left dumbstruck, their faces frozen in disbelief.
