Chapter 237 Moving Next Month

James was so wrapped up in saving Kimberly that he totally blanked on why she was in trouble to begin with.

Oh right, it was that thing stuck in her throat.

"Move aside!" James shoved the middle-aged couple out of the way, scooped up Kimberly, and flipped her over his arm.

The couple freaked out, yelling, "What are you doing?"

A bunch of people rushed at James, ready to throw punches.

Charles hesitated but then jumped in to block them. "Hold on! James can save her."

James had to save Kimberly, or Charles would be in deep trouble.

James smacked Kimberly on the back.

A loud noise echoed.

Kimberly's body jerked, and something cracked in her throat.

A piece of jelly shot out of her mouth.

James smacked her again.

She spat out a big mouthful of water.

One more smack.

Kimberly let out a weird cry and started wailing. Her dark face turned rosy.

The place went dead silent.

"She's alive! The kid's alive again."

"Yeah, her face is turning red. It was so dark before, it was scary."

"He's a pro. The doctors said she was gone, but he brought her back."

"Who called him a fraud? They must be blind."

The crowd, realizing what just happened, stopped attacking James and started cheering for him.

The middle-aged couple hugged their kid, crying tears of joy, and tried to kneel in gratitude, but James helped them up.

James pulled Charles over, introduced himself, and cleared up any suspicions of human trafficking.

Charles apologized and offered them three grand, but the couple refused. They calmed down once they realized Charles wasn't a bad guy.

James glanced at Sarah.

Sarah snorted, "Just lucky!"

James replied coolly, "Miss Howard, remember, tomorrow your dad's gonna be in a world of pain."

'A small-time doc who got lucky thinks he's a big shot? Ridiculous!' Sarah sneered and left with her assistant.

The crowd dispersed, and Charles pulled James away.

"James, thank you. If you hadn't saved that kid, I would've been beaten or arrested."

He patted James's arm, unusually warm and friendly.

"No problem, saving lives is my job," James replied awkwardly. "Besides, you meant well; you just didn't expect Kimberly to choke."

James patted himself down and realized the half-broken branch was gone.

Without that branch, Larry's weapon couldn't be verified. James cursed himself for being careless.

But the scene was chaotic, and he was focused on saving Kimberly, with no time to worry about the branch.

Charles, elated, pulled James along. "You saved my life today. Come on, let's go home. I'll have your mom make you a roast chicken..."

Halfway through, he awkwardly smiled and let go of James's arm. "Sorry, I forgot you divorced Mary. But if you have time and want to visit, the Smith Family always welcomes you."

Charles squeezed out, "The past grudges were because of me and your Aunt Addison's foolishness. Don't hold it against us."

James smiled. "Uncle Charles, don't worry; it's all in the past."

He's so busy now that he doesn't have time to dwell on the Smith Family's issues.

"By the way, Mary mentioned this Rolex was a gift from Jacob." Charles slapped his forehead, remembering, and took off the Rolex, handing it to James. "Returning it to its rightful owner."

"Uncle Charles, no need." James quickly waved his hand. "I've got a watch I like. I'm not used to wearing a Rolex. So, this Rolex is yours."

James put the Rolex back on Charles's wrist. "Thanks for looking out for me this past year."

"Good kid, good kid." Charles patted James's arm, sighing. "It's the Smith Family that lacks vision."

"Charles, Charles."

A few figures rushed over, and Addison appeared with Abigail and Christopher.

"You said on the phone that something big happened, and many people were attacking you. What exactly happened?"

Addison locked eyes on James and shouted, "Is it this heartless person bullying you? If he dares to touch you, I'll fight him."

Christopher and Abigail stared at James with complex expressions, both hating and not daring to hate, wanting to please but unable to lower their pride.

James, however, was calm, his freedom allowing him to act with ease.

"Don't blame James. If it weren't for him, I might have been beaten to death by now." Charles quickly pulled Addison and briefly explained the situation, "James helped me, we should thank him properly."

"I see." Hearing that James had helped Charles, Addison's expression turned sour, but she still reluctantly said to James, "Thank you this time."

She reminded James, "But thank you or not, I still won't allow you to get close to Mary. She is going to marry into a wealthy family, don't ruin our plans."

James smiled. "Really? Marrying into a wealthy family? Which wealthy family would marry a divorced woman? Uncle Charles, goodbye."

After saying that, James waved to Charles and turned to walk down the steps.

"Get lost!" The last sentence was like a knife stabbing Addison, and she couldn't help but curse, "My Mary has plenty of wealthy suitors. Besides, even without a wealthy family, my Mary can become wealthy herself."

Addison boasted, "Mary is living in Peach Blossom Villa No. 1 now. Can you, a doctor, afford that?"

James smiled at her words and walked on without looking back.

Charles was stunned. "Peach Blossom Villa No. 1? Mary?"

"Yes, Mary said she was moving out, and I secretly checked." Addison became excited. "She's living in Peach Blossom Villa No. 1, a 140 million dollar villa."

Christopher and Abigail followed, looking proud.

Charles was shocked. "Where did she get the money to buy it?"

"I don't care if she bought it or if it was given to her, I only know she's the owner of Peach Blossom Villa No. 1." Addison raised her head. "I'm going to enjoy life with her. There are many rooms there, you can all move in together."

She pointed at Christopher and his wife, acting like the head of the family.

Christopher and Abigail were overjoyed. "Thank you, Mom!"

Addison remembered something and took a few steps forward, shouting at James's back, "James, thanks for saving Charles. We're moving into Peach Blossom Villa No. 1 on the 8th next month. Make sure to come and celebrate!"
