Chapter 210 Drinking Contest
Sophie kept topping off James' wine glass.
"Hey, Mr. Williams! I'm Jack Perez. Nice to meet ya. Cheers!"
This young dude in some fancy getup strolled over, grinning as he raised his glass to James.
"James, that's enough!"
Kaitlyn bit her lip and gently tugged on James' sleeve, trying to get him to stop.
"Alright, bottoms up."
James brushed her off, grinning as he downed another glass.
The other guy knocked back his drink too.
"Mr. Williams, you're loaded. Look out for us, will ya?"
"It's a pleasure to meet you. Come on, let's do three more."
Half a dozen young guys came up one by one to toast James, each with two or three glasses of red wine, acting like they were his long-lost bros.
James didn't turn anyone down, clinking glasses and drinking with each of them.
Twelve bottles of red wine vanished in no time.
"James, stop drinking. You're gonna get wasted."
Seeing James drink so much, Kaitlyn was sweating bullets, constantly trying to stop him, but he wouldn't listen.
She regretted bringing James here.
"Now that they're done, it's our turn." With a nod from Damon, Sophie stepped forward. "Women can drink just as much as men, James. You can't turn me down."
She even threw a flirty glance his way.
Kaitlyn instinctively stood up. "Sophie, I'll drink with you."
"Kaitlyn, you can't do that." Sophie shot her down. "Only men drink for women, never the other way around."
"You're saying James is useless."
She smiled at James. "James, you're not chicken out, are you?"
Her words made the women around laugh, filling the courtyard with a joyful vibe.
"Kaitlyn, sit down. Ms. Garcia is right. How can a man do that?"
James laughed, raised his glass, and downed it.
Sophie refilled both their glasses. "Come on, let's have another one. I apologize for my past actions."
James didn't hesitate, drinking it all in one go.
His face started to turn red and hot, and he was a bit wobbly.
The other socialites also stood up to toast, clearly trying to get James completely hammered and make a fool of him.
Another case of red wine was quickly emptied.
Damon watched with delight, thinking James was a fool for not seeing through their tactics.
It was clear James was reaching his limit; another half round and he'd be down.
John also smiled slyly, thinking Damon was clever for dealing with James without a fight.
He picked up his glass and approached, not letting James take a break. "Mr. Williams, at home, we rely on our parents; outside, we rely on friends. Let's have another drink."
The group kept drinking, and soon, all thirty-six bottles of red wine were gone.
Kaitlyn pulled on James, anxiously shouting, "James, you can't drink anymore."
"Come on keep drinking." James swayed, his eyes glazed, looking like he was about to pass out.
"Yes, no going home until we're drunk." John loosened his collar and ordered a case of brandy.
The drinking contest resumed.
But to Damon's surprise, despite drinking so much, James, though wobbly, never fell.
Kaitlyn kept trying to stop him, but James ignored her, challenging them to drink.
After six bottles of brandy, the courtyard was much quieter.
Damon and his crew were slumped in their chairs, gasping for air, no longer toasting James.
With no one left toasting him, James grinned, grabbed a bottle of brandy, poured himself a drink, and then filled up John and the others' glasses.
"Payback time."
"You guys toasted me so much, treating me like a buddy. I gotta return the favor."
"Come on, no hard feelings."
"Here, I toast you as my apology. I was just messing around earlier about having that kind of money."
James said with a smile, clinking glasses with each of them.
Damon and John initially thought he was a lightweight.
They figured James must be plastered; otherwise, why would he turn around and toast them?
But their smirks quickly faded as James, though still a bit wobbly, steadily toasted them all.
James toasted each of them three times.
Each glass was 3 ounces, three glasses 9 ounces, plus the previous rounds, John and the others had each downed 32 ounces.
Soon, six women were passed out on the table, completely out cold.
Sophie was sprawled on the ground.
James toasted another round.
Damon's face twitched. Normally, he could handle 32 ounces of brandy, but mixing red wine and brandy, his limit was 24 ounces.
Another glass of brandy down, Damon's face was flushed and hot, and he could barely speak.
But James didn't stop, pouring another glass and continuing to toast everyone, pushing them to drink.
After another three glasses, even John and Damon couldn't take it anymore.
Damon was swaying, and John was already snoring on the ground.
Kaitlyn was stunned and thought, 'James is incredible.'
"Mr. Bell, drinking with a friend, a thousand glasses aren't enough." James smiled at Damon, "Come on, let's have another drink."
Damon's right hand trembled, his eyes filled with despair. 'Is this guy even human? He is a walking keg.'
After another glass, Damon felt like he was on fire, his head spinning, barely able to stand.
But James remained unfazed, opening another bottle and filling both their glasses, smiling warmly. "Come on, Damon, one more drink!"
Damon collapsed onto the table, not sure if he was drunk or scared.
Almost simultaneously, James dropped his glass, pulled out three silver needles from his body, and instantly regained his composure.
His eyes were calm, deep, and in control.
He scanned the room, smirked, picked up a bottle, walked over to Damon, and pinched his nose, pouring the wine into him.
Damon was completely knocked out.
Kaitlyn watched in shock. All eighteen people were down, all because of James. It was terrifying.
"James, you're amazing."
Kaitlyn hugged James, touching his forehead. "Are you okay? Are you drunk?"
"I'm fine, Kaitlyn. Go call a cab." James smiled at Kaitlyn. "I'll wash my face and be right out."
Kaitlyn nodded gently and left the courtyard.
As soon as Kaitlyn was out of sight, James' face turned cold.
These days, there were too many foolish people.
He walked over, picked up Damon and John, stripped them, and threw them onto the bed in the room.
Then he found a bottle of hallucinogens on Damon, clearly meant for Kaitlyn.
James poured the hallucinogens into their mouths, took out silver needles, and pricked a few spots on their bodies, bringing them back to partial consciousness.
Soon, the room was filled with beastly noises.
