Chapter 470 You Are Bound to Lose

The next afternoon at 2 PM, James arrived at Maple Hill with Francis and Elysia.

In the end, he didn't sleep with Olivia.

James knew deep down that Olivia was worried he might die in battle and wanted to ensure he left behind a legacy, so he wouldn't be the last of his line. This thoughtfulness and deep affection moved James profoundly, and because of this, he didn't take advantage of the situation.

He hoped to return alive and see Olivia again.

The mountain wind howled, bringing a biting chill.

James walked around the hilltop, then sat down to meditate.

He arrived early to familiarize himself with the environment and to create a false impression, making Dane think he was overly nervous.

"James, it's useless. You're doomed to lose."

Despite being tortured to the brink of death, Elysia lifted her head and sneered at James, "Dane is a high-level fighter. No matter how hard you try, you're just a mid-level. It's like an egg hitting a rock."

"You're going to die a horrible death today, James. You're dead meat."

Her eyes gleamed with a manic intensity, making her look terrifyingly insane.

Thinking of the brutal deaths of Atticus and the Law enforcement members, her heart ached as if being cut by a knife. She wished she could skin James alive.

"Then just wait and see who dies today."

James didn't torture Elysia further. She couldn't endure a third round of Gu Sorcery bites. He wanted her to witness this battle and see Terrence's final moments.

Francis took Elysia to a corner and gagged her to stop her from making more noise.

James had only been meditating for fifteen minutes when a convoy roared up the hill.

The car doors opened, and Terrence emerged with his Law enforcement team.

Terrence stormed out of the car, immediately spotting James and rushing over in a rage. "James! I'll skin you alive!"

He had only been back in Stardust City for a few days, and not only had the Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance changed hands again, but his nephew Atticus was also dead.

He drew his sword to confront James, but his subordinates quickly held him back, urging him not to act impulsively.

"No rush." James opened his eyes and looked at Terrence, "After I kill Dane, you'll have your turn."

"Bastard!" Terrence's veins bulged. "I'll tell you this, whether you die today or not, I'm going to grind your bones to dust."

He hadn't slept all night, haunted by the image of James's foot crushing Atticus. His heart bled with every thought.

He still couldn't understand where James got the courage to defy the Law enforcement and the audacity to kill Atticus.

"I'm afraid you won't get the chance." James didn't even lift his eyelids. "But don't worry, I'll make sure you join Atticus."

Terrence laughed in fury. "Kid, you're arrogant. I'll let you live another hour. Let's see how Dane kills you."

He restrained his urge to kill James immediately, fearing that if he acted, James would fall and play dead, using it as an excuse to cancel the fight.

Terrence clapped his hands, and a truck drove up, opening its doors to reveal a black coffin.

"James, see this? I bought this coffin specially for you. When you're dead, I'll personally chop you into pieces and put you in it."

"Then, I'll have your flesh made into a meat patty for your parents to enjoy."

Terrence was clearly enraged by James, laughing maniacally, "You killed my nephew, so it's only fair I bury your whole family!"

James remained calm. "For that, I will definitely kill you."

"Bastard!"

"Who gave you the guts to say that?"

At that moment, a group of well-dressed men and women appeared on the hill, accompanied by bodyguards.

Leading them was a graceful woman with an oval face and cherry lips, dressed in a gown with her hair up, exuding an air of nobility.

But her face was frosty as she scolded James, "James, you recklessly accepted this challenge, bringing disgrace to the Mystic Alliance and Celestia Martial practices."

"Now, you're ignoring the hierarchy of the Mystic Alliance, speaking arrogantly and disrespectfully. This is a grave offense."

"I order you to apologize to Mr. Wheeler immediately."

She issued commands to James from her high perch.

James looked at her and didn't need to ask to know who she was—Tessa, Leila's sister, and the leader of the Celestia observation team.

But he didn't show her any respect. "He brought a coffin to curse me, and you want me to apologize? Do you think I'm out of my mind?"

"That's different." Tessa's face turned cold. "You've already lost this fight. Mr. Wheeler brought the coffin to avoid your body being left in the wilderness."

"Do you think you have a chance of winning? Look at yourself—a small-time president challenging a sword saint—isn't that seeking death?"

"A week ago, didn't Mr. Banks teach you enough? He crippled you with one hand. If you win today, I'll crawl down this hill."

"Being young is good, but being arrogant is not." Tessa was very displeased with James ignoring her authority. "I'm giving you one more chance. If you don't apologize to Mr. Wheeler, you'll bear the consequences."

Tessa had a significant background. Even in Stardust City, many people treated her with respect, but James was so ungrateful.

Her female companions also rolled their eyes at James. Beaten by Dane and still so arrogant, he was unbelievable.

Terrence smirked, "That's right, I brought the coffin for your own good."

James looked at Tessa without any courtesy. "My business is none of your concern!"

Tessa was even more displeased. "James, do you know who I am? Who gave you the guts to talk back to me?"

"I don't care who you are." James looked at the approaching group. "Here's a word for you—"

"Scram!"

Tessa was furious. "Alright, alright, a small-time president dares to challenge me. Fine, I'll see how strong you are today."

She had never been scolded like this to her face.

And told to scram? Among the Mystic Alliance presidents and members, who didn't treat her with respect?

Now, a newly appointed president, beaten by Dane, dared to tell her to scram in public?

If she didn't deal with this guy today, Tessa felt she couldn't swallow this anger!

She ordered a female companion, "Teach him a lesson."

"Ms. Hawthorne, Dane and Mr. Montes are here." Terrence sensed Tessa's anger and worried she might attack James, quickly speaking up,

"Let Dane handle him."

He then whispered to Tessa, advising her not to give James an excuse to call off the fight.

Tessa thought for a moment, then glared at James. "I'll deal with you later."

She then turned with a charming smile to greet Dane and his group.

"Mr. Banks, welcome. Sorry for not greeting you sooner."

Terrence and his group also gathered around, treating Dane like one of their own.

Dane was instantly the center of attention.

In the vast open space, only James stood alone.

But he didn't mind. With a step forward, he firmly spoke up, "Dane! Come up and face your death!"

Dane didn't waste words, leaping like lightning out of Tessa's sight.

The next instant, he appeared in front of James, his finger already aiming for James's throat.

The life-and-death battle had begun.
