Chapter 105 Dared to Move Again

"Mr. Jones, I ambushed you ten times in a row, and each time I succeeded." James stomped heavily on Harry and sneered. "Why weren't you on guard? Why weren't you cautious? Your carelessness disappoints me."

He kept pressing down with his foot, making Harry scream in pain and causing Donna's group to fall silent in fear.

Brian, however, seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the scene. He didn't say a word, though, instead quietly watching from the corner.

"You are really skilled." Harry was furious but had to face reality.

With his prominent family background and exceptional skills, Harry had always felt that he was the most formidable among the younger generation for the past two years.

Given another ten years, he believed he could stand on equal footing with those who had more experience, so he looked down on Patrick and Jacob.

Even Raymond and Ralph didn't command his respect.

This arrogance and strength made Harry feel that crushing James would be as easy as crushing an ant.

A complete and utter domination.

But now?

He was the one beaten to the ground.

The ant had turned into an elephant in an instant, stepping on his back from above.

Ten slaps made Harry question his life.

He couldn't even dodge, let alone fight back, which left the proud Harry in despair.

The rest of his companions were also ashen-faced, their former arrogance completely gone.

"Whether I'm skilled or not is irrelevant." James's lips curled into a mocking smile. "What matters is that I can trample you underfoot, you bastard."

"You bastard, if you dare lay a hand on me, the police won't let you off, and neither will the people of the Jones family." Harry felt an unprecedented sense of humiliation. As the heir to the prestigious Jones family, he felt disgraced to have been reduced to such a state. But more than shame, he felt a deep sense of resentment.

James stepped on Harry's right hand. "How won't they let me off?"

Seeing James so arrogant, Jennifer felt very uncomfortable. She couldn't imagine such an outcome that he had Harry firmly under his foot. This ex-boyfriend was completely different from before.

Over the past month, James had repeatedly shattered her perceptions, each time stimulating her and making her feel jealous and upset.

"James, you bastard." Feeling the pain in his wrist, Harry roared, "If you have the guts, kill me."

"Are you kidding? I'm a law-abiding citizen." James remained calm. "How could I possibly kill someone in public? I'm here to seek justice for Mary. I can spare your life, but punishment is inevitable."

James stared at his wrist and said, "You almost had Mary violated. Breaking your two hands isn't too much, is it?"

"James, that's enough." Jennifer couldn't stand it anymore. She couldn't tolerate James trampling on the person who provided her with financial support.

James had no right to deal with Harry.

She pointed a finger at him, her voice filled with anger yet still maintaining a delicate tone. "James, stop. You may be strong, but the Jones family has power and influence that a commoner like you can't compare to. Bryan, Secure Horizon Services, Mr. Jones, Overlord Pharmaceutical, Mr. Jones, the Chairman of BH Bank - aren't they all big shots? Which one of them can a small fry like you afford to offend? Have you thought about the consequences of your reckless actions? Have you thought about your family?"

Jennifer's words woke up the dozen or so people present.

Yes, this society was not like the old days of chivalry.

In this era, money and power still ruled. No matter how strong one was, they were just watchdogs for the wealthy and powerful unless they were among the very top?

"The Jones family is wealthy and powerful. If they really want to go all out, they can spend millions of dollars to hire a bunch of skilled people to deal with you. Don't think you're invincible. There are always people better than you, and the Jones family has the money and power to hire them. If you harm Mr. Jones, The Jones family will be furious. Not only will you suffer, but your family will also be in trouble."

Jennifer spoke proudly, "James, don't be arrogant."

It was as if she had found her confidence again.

"That's right, money and power are the real deal!"

A rich girl nearby shouted arrogantly.

Jennifer's words made the others present lift their heads again. Their money and connections far surpassed James'. What were they afraid of?

Did James really dare to kill them? Wasn't he afraid of going to jail? Wasn't he worried about his family being implicated?

"So what if you're strong?"

Another rich kid shouted, "Can you fight against knives, guns, or the state machinery?"

Everyone followed suit, realizing that money and power were indeed the real deal.

The Jones family was a powerful family, with money and connections beyond what ordinary people could imagine.

What did James have to compete with them?

"Stop now, apologize to Mr. Jones, and listen to his demands. Compensate and hand over Mary. That way, you might have a chance to survive. I can guarantee that if you do as I say, I'll make sure Mr. Jones lets you go." Jennifer earnestly advised James. "Mr. Jones is not as simple as you think."

James stomped on Harry's right hand, breaking it. "Not simple? How so?"

Harry couldn't help but scream in pain.

Jennifer shouted, "You!"

Jennifer covered her face in disbelief, looking at James. She had made it so clear. How could James not understand?

She was furious. "You've caused big trouble."

James stomped on Harry's left hand, breaking it. "What big trouble?"

Jennifer was almost furious to the point of vomiting blood.

Almost at the same time, six black jeeps, surrounding an off-road vehicle, blocked the entrance of TranquilTea Haven.

Their arrogance was palpable.

Then, the six vehicles opened their doors one after another, closing them with a bang. The commotion at TranquilTea Haven came to a halt, and bystanders retreated.

More than a dozen men in trench coats got out of the cars, surrounding a burly man.

Tommy, with a square face and wearing a bracelet, looked fierce and intimidating. His glare alone could scare many people.

A dozen people marched into the hall, kicking a few people at the staircase aside.

Many diners quickly made their way, their faces showing fear.

A few waiters stood up straight, not daring to breathe. They recognized him as Tommy, the chairman of BH Bank.

Jacob slightly tilted his head, watching from the shadows with his subordinates.

A dozen strong men from the Jones family quickly rushed to the third floor.

Their presence was intimidating.

Tommy walked in with a cold face, exuding the aura of a superior who controlled others' lives.

He appeared with his hands behind his back.

Harry weakly called out, "Dad."

In the end, he still had to rely on his father.

Witnessing Harry's unprecedented misery, Tommy glared at James with a dark, angry smile. "So, you dare to harm my son! Try it again in my presence, dare you?"

"Alright," James responded calmly. Without hesitation, he stepped forward and stomped on Harry once more.

Harry let out a blood-curdling scream as his left leg broke.

The room fell into a deafening silence.
