Chapter 472 Victory

James's three punches were quick and brutal, like a force of nature.

In a flash, he was right in front of Dane.

Dane's expression changed drastically. Unable to dodge, he raised both hands to block.

A loud bang echoed, dust filled the air, and the force of the impact made everyone squint. No one could see what had happened.

Tessa and the others could only hear coughing through the dust.

After a while, they could finally see the situation. Dane had taken James's punch head-on, and the ground within a 30-foot radius around them was completely shattered, a terrifying scene.

The power of the three punches was comparable to a bomb explosion.

Dane was sent far from the center of the fight, his feet dragging two trenches in the ground. Blood filled his mouth, his arms hung limp, and he was half-kneeling on the ground, looking utterly defeated.

His body trembled uncontrollably, his breathing was so rapid that everyone could hear it.

His arms were broken, his ribs shattered, and his internal organs severely damaged. Dane couldn't even muster the strength to get up, let alone fight again.

James stood in front of him, hands behind his back, like an untouchable deity.

Dane stared at James with a venomous look, like a snake.

He couldn't understand how James, who was so weak a week ago, could now hurt him.

What had happened in that week? Had James also reached High Level?

But even if James had advanced, he shouldn't be able to hurt him. After all, Dane had been at High Level for ten years. If anyone should be dominating, it should be him.

Dane couldn't figure it out. Blood surged in his chest, and he spat out another mouthful of blood.

The entire place fell silent.

No one spoke, it was as if even breathing had stopped.

Except for James, everyone—Tessa, Terrence, Primrose, and the others—were stunned, watching the shocking scene unfold.

Orval and the other Lumaria people took off their glasses and rubbed their eyes hard, thinking they were seeing things.

Who was Dane?

He was a high-level master, one of the top ten sword saints. A week ago, he had single-handedly swept through the entire Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance and severely injured James.

But now, this formidable figure had been defeated by the supposedly crippled James with a single punch. How could they not be shocked?

"This can't be happening!"

"Dane is high-level, James is at most mid-level. How could he win?"

"Was there some kind of twist just now?"

Tessa muttered to herself, unable to believe or accept what she was seeing.

Terrence and the others felt their mouths go dry, their previous excitement turning bitter, and their cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"You lost!" James smiled at Dane. "But dying in such a beautiful place like Maple Hill is an honor for you."

"This can't be true!" Dane growled. "A week ago, you were so weak. How are you stronger than me now?"

"You have to thank yourself." James spoke calmly, "In the battle at Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance, you injured me, but it also helped me break through."

"So you did break through. At your age, reaching High Level is rare. You're strong."

Dane struggled. "But something's still not right. Your foundation shouldn't be stable. You shouldn't be able to beat me."

He stared at James. "I've been at High Level for ten years."

"Sorry, I broke through two levels. I'm now at Advanced High Level." "Sorry, I broke through two levels. I'm now at Advanced High Level," James leaned down and whispered in Dane's ear.

"Of course, it isn't stable yet. To easily crush you is impossible. Even a tie could be uncertain, given your rich combat experience."

"I can only say I have the ability to fight you. But when you made your move, I knew you were injured from our last battle."

"Though it wasn't fatal, prolonged fighting would weaken your strength and speed."

"So I hid my strength, kept dodging to drain your energy, and then struck with full force."

James stood up straight. "As I expected, you couldn't withstand my final strike."

Dane's eyelids twitched, then he roared in anger, "You cunning and shameless bastard!"

"What's cunning about it? Just playing to my strengths." James smirked, his tone dripping with disdain. "If anyone's shameless, it's you."

"Don't think I don't know. In the last battle at Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance, besides saving people, you had another goal—to kill me."

"But you found me and Francis too strong, got injured, and saw we had more people. So you pretended to spare my life."

"For you, wiping out the entire Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance was more glorious than bullying a rookie like me."

"As for the challenge you issued at Maple Hill, it was just a cover for your plan to massacre Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance."

He directly revealed Dane's intentions. "After Aurelia died and you found out I was the president, you decided to target Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance."

"You wanted to kill me, the president, and then massacre Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance to set an example."

James smiled calmly. "Am I right?"

Dane's body shook violently, his eyes fierce as he stared at James. "You deserve to die."

"Too bad, it's you who's dying now." James stepped forward, raised his right foot, and stomped Dane to the ground.

Orval was furious.

Primrose and the others were also filled with grief and anger. What could be more infuriating than seeing their idol humiliated by someone they despised?

"Bastard!"

Tessa was also very angry, watching Dane being stomped by James. She had hoped Dane would win, but now he was under James's foot. And the James she had looked down on was now the victor.

This scene felt like a dream; it should have been the other way around.

"It's over." James pressed his foot on Dane's throat.

Before Orval and the others could rush to save him, Tessa angrily stepped forward and shouted, "James, stop!"

"I won't acknowledge this kind of victory! You were shameless, always dodging and never fighting him head-on. After wearing him down, you take advantage of it and claim to win?"

"Absolutely not!" Tessa spoke righteously. "Release Mr. Banks now, apologize properly, and I might consider not pursuing this further."

Terrence also snorted. "James, let him go, or the consequences will be severe. Ms. Hawthorne isn't joking."

James smiled faintly. "Let him go? Are you out of your mind, or am I?"

"James, I know you crave glory and want to announce your victory." Tessa looked at James and spoke confidently. "But victory isn't achieved this way."

"And Mr. Banks is from Lumaria. We have close ties with them. If you kill him, you'll damage our relationship. Can you bear that responsibility?"

"If you dare harm Mr. Banks, I won't protect you. If Mr. Reyes and the others take action, I won't intervene."

"Though you defeated Mr. Banks, it wasn't your true strength. And I believe you're at your limit now. If Mr. Reyes and the others attack, you'll surely die."

She raised her face to warn James, also signaling Orval.

Orval tilted his head slightly, and a dozen of Dane's men drew their swords and surrounded James.

Seeing this, Dane smiled. "James, you're strong, but you can't kill me today. Just wait for my revenge. I'll kill every one you care about."

With Tessa and the others intervening, Dane believed James wouldn't dare kill him.

James smiled indifferently and looked at Tessa.

"Mr. Wheeler even brought a coffin, and you talk about close ties and relationships?"

A bunch of people wanted him dead, yet they asked him to consider the bigger picture. James found it laughable.

"That's different. You and Mr. Banks aren't comparable." Tessa insisted. "I'll say it one last time, release Mr. Banks now."

"Release him? Fine, I'll release him." James looked at Tessa and smiled faintly. The next second, he stomped down.

Dane's throat shattered, blood spurted from his mouth and nose, and his life ended instantly.

James kicked his body to Tessa's feet.

"Here you go!"
