Chapter 334 A Major Incident Occurred

None of them expected James to actually lay a hand on Eagle Lady.

Eagle Lady was Amanda's trusted confidant and one of the Smith Clan's strongest fighters, capable of taking on a hundred opponents single-handedly.

Eagle Lady herself was frustrated. She tried to fight back several times, but James was too fast. Slap after slap landed on her, leaving her speechless and unable to retaliate.

The pain, the frustration, the unwillingness, the anger—it was all useless. She could only endure the beating.

Addison gasped, covering her face and silently thanking James for showing mercy in the past. Otherwise, she would have been left with a bruised face.

"James, James, that's enough. Give me a break, stop hitting her," Charles stepped in to break up the fight. "If you keep going, something serious will happen."

Mary gently pulled on James's arm. "James, let it go. Give Eagle Lady a chance. She's just following orders."

Kaitlyn chimed in, "James, let her go."

James was hitting so hard that everyone feared he might give Eagle Lady a concussion.

What they didn't know was that James was already holding back. If he hadn't, Eagle Lady's face might have been flattened with the first slap.

Addison secretly hoped James would hit Eagle Lady a few more times but was also worried about explaining her death to Amanda.

"Get lost," James said, releasing Eagle Lady and kicking her out the door.

Several Smith Clan women screamed and rushed out to help Eagle Lady.

"Go to hell!" Eagle Lady shoved the women aside and charged at James, her right hand glowing with inner energy. She put all her shame, anger, and strength into one punch.

"James!" Mary and the others instinctively cried out.

James didn't back down. He stepped forward and threw a punch of his own.

Their fists collided with a dull thud. James's power shattered Eagle Lady's sleeve, broke her knuckles, and twisted her arm. She grunted, her face pale, and stumbled back several feet, sweat pouring from her forehead as she looked at James in terror.

She was finished.

Everyone was stunned. The women covered their mouths to stifle their screams. Eagle Lady and her group left in disgrace.

James would have broken another of Eagle Lady's legs if the Smith Family hadn't been present. He didn't want to appear too violent.

"James, you're amazing," Kaitlyn cheered, hugging James's neck, her warmth and fragrance enveloping him.

She clung to him so tightly, making it nearly impossible for James to push her away.

Christopher and the others smiled, relieved that Mary was safe.

Seeing Kaitlyn so close to James, Mary frowned and pulled her away. "That's enough. Your face is a bit swollen. Go get an ice pack."

Kaitlyn shrugged. "I don't care. As long as James doesn't mind."

Kaitlyn had finished her commercial shoot and had a few days off, so she didn't care about a few bruises.

Mary put on a serious face. "Go get the ice pack. Now."

"Did you hear Mary? Go!" Addison urged Kaitlyn away and then turned to James with a smile. "Thanks, James. If it weren't for you, Mary would have been in trouble."

"I won't let anything happen to Mary," James said, glancing at the clock. "It's getting late. I should head home."

"Home? This is your home too," Addison said, grabbing James's arm. "Stay here with Mary tonight. You two should spend more time together."

Charles and the others were surprised by Addison's change in attitude but quickly understood.

Addison wanted James to stay to deal with Amanda's retaliation. If Amanda came for revenge, they could blame James and hand him over.

James saw through Addison's plan but smiled at Mary. "Alright, I'll stay tonight."

Addison was delighted and shouted, "Christopher, get a room ready for James."

Mary quickly interjected, "No need. He can sleep on the floor in my room."

Kaitlyn appeared, rubbing her cheek. "Why should he sleep on the floor? James, you can have my room. I'll sleep on the couch."

"Kids shouldn't talk," Mary said, staring at James. "Are you coming?"

Two hours later, Mary entered her room, and James followed. As Mary took off her shoes, she stumbled and fell into James's arms.

Mary's body was warm and fragrant, the soft touch making James's breath quicken. The mix of alcohol and her scent was intoxicating, and her face flushed.

James stepped back, smiling. "We shouldn't get too close."

Mary quickly grabbed his arm. "James, let's take a bath together." Her voice was barely above a whisper.

James's arm trembled, and his breathing grew heavier. He wondered if he had heard her correctly.

Mary was even more nervous, and time seemed to freeze.

After a moment, Mary let go of James and went to the bathroom, leaving the door unlocked.

Mary seemed bold and direct, but as soon as she let go of James, her face showed her nervousness.

Mary didn't know why she had said that. Maybe it was the alcohol or desire, but she had already spoken.

And to take their relationship to the next level, they would need some intimacy.

James stood there, numb, feeling things a bit funny. Throughout the year they shared a home, he had never dared to look at Mary's body.

Taking a bath with Mary was something he had never imagined.

But fate was strange. Everything had changed in an instant.

James didn't want to think about the future. He was caught in the moment.

Should he go in or not?

Mary's voice came from the bathroom. "James, come help me with the zipper. It's stuck."

The zipper was stuck?

James thought it was the most enticing excuse in the world. His blood began to boil.

But then, an annoying phone ringtone interrupted.

Life was always unexpectable.

Why did humans invent phones?

James angrily threw his phone, but then realized it wasn't his ringtone.

It turned out to be Mary's phone ringing.

Mary, wrapped in a towel, ran out and glared at James before answering the call.

After a moment, her face changed dramatically. "What? Eagle Lady and her group are dead?"
