Chapter 257 Come and Kill Me
"Neil, get out here," James's cold voice echoed through the Bennett mansion, shaking everyone to their core.
It was unreal. Someone had the guts to break in, commit murder, and then stand over Neil, hurling insults like it was nothing.
The air in the Bennett mansion was thick with tension.
Some were shocked, some were serious, and some were downright furious, but no one dared to speak.
Before today, if someone had shouted like this, they would've thought the person was nuts. Who in their right mind would provoke Neil?
But now, with the brutal death of the Shadow Triad, they realized James had every right to be cocky.
They had seen the Shadow Triad's power firsthand yesterday.
Their ferocity and dominance had left the Bennett elite in awe.
But now, these powerful people were killed by James like he was swatting flies. How could they not be stunned?
"If you don't come out, I'll come in," James said, picking up a knife again. "Your dad must be a turtle if he raised such a coward."
James's attitude was beyond arrogant. As soon as he finished speaking, the reinforced door swung open.
"James! James! James!" Neil stormed out, his face twisted with rage, shouting James's name three times.
He fired his gun, seven bullets aimed straight at James.
James kicked up a corpse to block the bullets effortlessly.
Neil tried to pull the trigger again, but the gun was empty. He tossed it aside, grabbed a crossbow, and yelled, "I'll kill you!"
The plan was to collect James's corpse. That was the plan. But things had gone sideways. Sadie's team was wiped out, and to make matters worse, James had stormed the villa with Francis by his side.
What really pissed Neil off was that James had also killed the Shadow Triad.
Seeing James's skills, Neil's anger hit the roof. His plan to take over Rosewood City was completely wrecked by James.
Over three hundred elite members, all handpicked, were now dead because of James. How could Neil not be heartbroken?
Dozens of Bennett elite members stepped back, forming a tight circle around Neil to protect him.
James's strength made them wary.
A few Bennett women peeked out to watch the drama unfold.
James spoke calmly, "Neil, you came out?"
Francis wanted to step in, but James stopped him with a slight wave of his hand.
Neil roared, "So what if I came out? Come kill me then."
He shot another arrow at James, but James caught it mid-air.
"Good, now I can kill you," James said indifferently, locking eyes with Neil.
Their gazes clashed like swords.
"James, I'll kill you!" Neil hissed through gritted teeth, his voice like a snake's tongue.
At that moment, dozens more Bennett elite members poured out, armed with shields and axes.
They quickly formed a protective wall around the impulsive Neil.
Then, a group of crossbowmen appeared, glaring at James with murderous intent.
It was like they were facing a major threat.
Next, a man in blue with a long sword on his back walked out.
He stared at James with unprecedented seriousness.
He was Maximilian's disciple, ranked forty-fourth on the assassin list, Archibald.
A few proud women gasped at how cool he looked.
"James, you really don't know what's good for you," Neil shouted. "You cut off my father's return, ambushed hundreds of my brothers, and now you're here causing trouble. You think so little of The Bennett Group?"
His voice was stern and severe.
James sneered, "Disrupting your plans and ambushing Sadie were all fair game, nothing shady about it. But you, as the Bennett heir, refused to accept the bet, broke the agreement, and kidnapped innocent people tonight. Neil, what right do you have to call me reckless? If you don't want me to kill more people tonight, release Mary immediately. Otherwise, I'll turn this place into a bloodbath."
His eyes turned sharp.
"Mary?" Neil suddenly got it, then sneered, "So you're here for her?"
He continued, "I didn't think the woman I had kidnapped would matter so much to you, James. I was planning to have some fun with your wife after killing you. Since you want to see her so badly, I'll let you."
His smile turned sinister, "Bring Mary out."
Sadie had once followed and investigated James, snapping a bunch of photos of people close to him.
Neil originally wanted to kill them all, but hearing that the Shadow Triad liked married women, he had her captured.
This was another way to torment James.
But before the Shadow Triad could humiliate Mary, James and Francis stormed in.
This also showed that Mary was very important to James.
Neil seemed to have suddenly grasped something.
Mary was quickly dragged out, her hair pulled as she stumbled forward.
Mary cried out in pain.
Neil showed no pity, grabbing Mary's hair and slapping her face, "Scream louder. Let your husband hear how I'm tormenting you."
James had made Neil lose face tonight.
On his own turf, James had gone on a killing spree and even taken out the Shadow Triad. This was a huge blow to the always arrogant Neil.
It made him stare defiantly at James, the frustration clear on his face.
Mary's face hurt, and she groaned again.
Tears sparkled, showing the charm of a delicate woman.
Then her eyes lit up, and she called out, "James!"
Seeing Neil treat Mary this way and noticing the many wounds on her body, a murderous intent flashed in James's eyes.
He nodded to Mary, "Mary, are you okay?"
Mary forced out a sentence, "I'm okay."
Seeing she was mostly unharmed, James's heart relaxed, "Good, I'll take you home."
Mary smiled sweetly, with grievance, joy, and an indescribable trust.
Then she showed concern, "You shouldn't have come."
"The love between you two is so deep, it’s almost making me cry. It’d be a shame not to stir things up a bit." Before James could speak, Neil slapped Mary again, hard on her face.
More finger marks appeared.
Blood trickled from the corner of Mary's mouth.
James's voice turned cold, "Neil, you're going too far."
"Too far? You're just realizing that now?"
Neil sneered, "I was born to do excessive things."
James's tone suddenly turned icy, "It seems you really have a death wish."
Neil laughed loudly, dragging Mary out of the protective circle, standing in front of the crowd, and taunting James, "I don't believe it. If I hurt her now, what can you do, James? Come kill me if you can."
He yanked Mary's hair viciously, his face twisted and terrifying, "Come kill me."
Seeing James at a loss, the Bennett guards were invigorated.
"I guarantee, if anything happens to Mary, all of you will die today!" James's emotionless, chilling voice, accompanied by a wave of killing intent, echoed through the entire area.
