Chapter 333 You Made Me Angry
Seeing that it was Amanda's trusted confidant, Addison's arrogance vanished instantly, her anger turning into a warm smile, "Eagle Lady, what brings you here? It's rare to see you, welcome."
"Christopher, why aren't you making coffee? Didn't you see Eagle Lady gracing us with her presence? All you do is eat all day." She turned and snapped at Christopher, "If you neglect our guest, I'll kick you out."
Christopher quickly put down his bowl and got to work.
Out of courtesy, Charles and Mary also walked over to greet her.
Only James remained unfazed, slowly eating a crab.
Eagle Lady, accompanied by several young women, entered the hall, looking at Charles's family with disdain. She then slapped the coffee out of Christopher's hand.
"Don't bother with the pretense. I have no interest in coffee."Several women from the Smith Clan also sneered, openly showing their contempt for the Smith Family.
Despite living in a mansion and having money and beauty, in their eyes, Charles's family were still nobodies. If Charles had any status or power, Eagle Lady wouldn't dare to be so brazen.
Charles, looking embarrassed, told Christopher to clean up the mess, then turned to Eagle Lady with a smile. "Eagle Lady, what brings you here tonight?"
Addison also chimed in, "Is there something Mrs. Smith needs?"
She thought they were probably here to ask Mary to return as president.
Eagle Lady, exuding authority, said, "I have only one purpose tonight."
"Mary has shown disrespect to her elders, disregarded the interests of the Smith Clan, allowed outsiders to cause trouble, and insulted Mrs. Smith."
Her voice turned cold, "According to family law, she must lose a leg."
The women from the Smith Clan looked at Mary with schadenfreude. What good was her beauty if she was going to lose a leg?
"What?" Charles and the others were shocked. "Break Mary's leg?"
"What did Mary do wrong to deserve such punishment?" Kaitlyn was the first to protest. "Even if she did something wrong, you can't be so cruel to her."
Eagle Lady suddenly stepped forward and slapped Kaitlyn, "Who do you think you are, to speak to me?"
"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear me announce Mary's crimes?"
"Cruel?"
"She's part of the Smith Family. If she makes a big mistake, she must be punished according to family law."
Eagle Lady's eyes were filled with malice. "If you dare to speak again, I'll knock your teeth out."
Kaitlyn was furious. "You're too tyrannical."
James stood up from the table, tossing his crab shell onto his plate. "Kaitlyn, step back."
Addison quickly shielded Kaitlyn and looked at Eagle Lady. "Weren't you here to ask Mary to return as president? Why are you talking about breaking her leg?"
"Mrs. Smith said, don't even think about the president position. The contract issue must be resolved by the Smith Family, and Mary's leg must be broken."
Eagle Lady looked around arrogantly. "If we don't teach you a lesson, you won't understand Mrs. Smith's authority."
"Daring to use the contract to threaten her, you really don't know your place."
"If she could be threatened, she wouldn't have achieved what she has today."
Eagle Lady shouted, "Mary, come forward and accept your punishment!"
Two women from the Smith Clan immediately approached James, while another woman brandished a stick, her face showing a sinister smile.
What could be more satisfying than breaking Mary's leg?
Mary's eyes turned cold as she took a step back. "Eagle Lady, don't push us too far."
"The contract issue is because they don't recognize Jane. What does it have to do with me?"
"If you want to hold someone accountable, start with Jane."
Mary had compromised for so many years, but she still couldn't escape being discarded. Today, she didn't want to be weak anymore.
Addison nodded repeatedly. "That's right, this has nothing to do with Mary. She can't influence Sarah and the others."
Without a word, Eagle Lady raised her hand and slapped Addison hard. "Do I need your explanation?"
"I'm not here to listen to your excuses. My task is to break Mary's leg."
Her face turned cold. "Get out of the way and let your daughter be punished."
Addison, covering her face, was furious but didn't dare to get angry at Eagle Lady. Besides being Amanda's confidant, Eagle Lady was also a formidable fighter.
Even a hundred Addisons couldn't beat Eagle Lady.
Mary's voice was low. "I did nothing wrong. I won't accept punishment."
"It's not Mary's fault. It's my failure to discipline her, and it's my fault for offending Mrs. Smith."
Charles rarely stood up, slapping himself. "If someone must be punished, it should be me."
"Such fatherly love." Eagle Lady sneered. "Charles, if you want to be punished, go hit your head against the wall. Your daughter can't escape tonight."
"You can't protect her!"
Eagle Lady commanded, "Do it!"
Three women from the Smith Clan arrogantly rushed at Mary.
"If you lay a finger on Mary, I'll break both your legs and throw you out."
A cold, emotionless voice rang out.
James stepped in front of Mary, throwing the three women from the Smith Clan aside. "Try me if you don't believe it."
Mary quickly grabbed James. "James, you don't have to do this."
She knew James was strong, but she also knew Eagle Lady was formidable.
"Break my legs?" Eagle Lady was furious. It was the first time someone had dared to challenge her like this.
She sneered, "James, you don't know who you're dealing with."
The three women from the Smith Clan were also furious, thinking James was a fool for challenging Eagle Lady. Did he really think he could stand up to her?
Laughable.
Addison couldn't help but advise, "James, Eagle Lady is very powerful. Don't be reckless. Apologize quickly and don't cause trouble."
Addison was worried that if James angered Eagle Lady further, the entire Smith Family would be beaten.
Seeing Addison so fearful, the disdain on the women's faces rose even more, thinking he was completely out of his depth.
They crossed their arms, looking down at James.
"James, break your own hand, and I'll let you go tonight." Eagle Lady glared at James. "Otherwise, I'll take both your hands and legs."
James's voice turned cold. "Get lost!"
Get lost?
Eagle Lady exploded. "James, you dare tell me to get lost?"
She clenched her fist and laughed angrily, "If I don't cripple you tonight, you won't know what fear is."
The women from the Smith Clan smirked, waiting to see James get beaten.
Eagle Lady's body tensed, swelling like a toad. "You've made me angry."
The women from the Smith Clan squealed with excitement, their eyes full of anticipation. Eagle Lady was about to unleash her fury.
Before Eagle Lady could make a move, James's figure blurred, and he slapped her across the face.
Eagle Lady screamed, flying back several feet.
James sneered, "What's wrong with telling you to get lost?"
Eagle Lady, clutching her face, was furious. "You dare hit me?"
James slapped her again, "So what?"
"Just because you're older, you think you can't be hit?"
"Who gave you the guts to threaten to break Mary's leg?"
"Who do you think you are, slapping Kaitlyn?"
"How terrifying do you think you are?"
"Do you think you can cripple me? Are you dreaming?"
"Break my own hand? Do you think you can say that to me?"
With each sentence, James slapped Eagle Lady, making her stagger and dizzy.
Her once arrogant face quickly became swollen and bloody, a shocking sight under the light.
Everyone was stunned.
The women from the Smith Clan were completely dumbfounded.
