Chapter 25
Jared and the others were rendered speechless; a faint red line indeed ran across Jacob's abdomen, spreading from his navel towards his chest.
How could this be?
Their complexions changed slightly.
Jared's gaze shifted toward James; he knew that this red line couldn't have been something Jacob had mentioned to James.
Could it be that James truly possessed some mystical power?
Jacob had no time to settle scores with Jared and the others, instead turning anxiously to James and saying, "James, this red line is the cursed blade energy, but I don't feel anything at all; I thought it was just a bruise."
He now held immense admiration for James and thus believed that he was indeed cursed.
"This red line doesn't itch or hurt because its time hasn't come yet." James narrowed his eyes. "The misfortune you've encountered these past few days, the protective amulet could resolve some of it, allowing you to keep half a life."
"But this red line, the protective amulet, can't stop. If you had come to me a day later, you'd be dead."
Jacob was utterly confused and asked, "Can this red line kill me?"
James pointed at the red line on Jacob's body and said, "Once the red line reaches the heart, it will kill you."
Upon hearing this, Jacob was startled, incredulously looking at the red line on his abdomen.
Anastasia bit her red lips and said, "Isn't that a bit exaggerated? It's not like we're in a movie. It might just be a bruise. I've never seen a wound move."
Before Jacob could rebuke her, the red line suddenly moved, spreading an inch closer to the heart.
This change shocked Anastasia and the others.
Jacob suddenly felt a chill, grabbing James's hand and saying, "James, I was blind yesterday and threw away the protective amulet; I was wrong."
"Please help me once more; I don't want to die so young."
"I'm really begging you."
Yesterday, Jacob scoffed at these false things, but now he believed in them to his core.
James said, "Don't worry, if I could come here, it means I will help you."
He didn't waste any more words, instructing Jacob to sit in the executive chair. Then, he took out silver needles and sterilized them
.
James took a deep breath, picked up the silver needles, and accurately inserted them into several acupoints on Jacob.
James moved slowly, taking three minutes to insert nine needles, but all were precisely targeted.
As the silver needles were inserted, the spread of the red line stopped and then began to fade.
"The red line is receding," several subordinates suddenly shouted with joy.
They clearly saw the red line that was pressing towards Jacob's heart retreating bit by bit towards the abdomen, then shrinking into a point and disappearing.
Jacob looked down and found that the oppressive feeling was gone, and the pain in his body had also eased a lot.
Jared was also dumbfounded. He originally thought James was just putting on an act, not expecting that it was his lack of knowledge.
Jacob said, "James, thank you so much; I feel so much lighter now."
James squinted his eyes, looking towards Jared not far away and saying, "When you were a child, did you hit your waist on something hard while swimming and hurt your internal organs from swallowing water?"
Jared was slightly startled, not expecting James to ask about himself, and then his expression turned to shock.
"James, how do you know these things?" Jared asked.
Anastasia was also stunned and asked, "Did you really suffer that?"
If it weren't for her husband, she would have thought it was all staged because she didn't even know about it.
James smiled faintly and said, "When you shook hands with me just now, I took the opportunity to feel your pulse."
"James really is capable ; no wonder Mr. Davis has such high regard for him." Jared took over the conversation. "That's right when I was a child, my family was poor. I started working on a boat at the age of twelve, accidentally got hit by an anchor on my waist, and fell into the water, nearly drowning."
He added, "I had to recuperate for three months before I could walk again, but there were no major issues after that."
Jacob was even more shocked by James's abilities, not expecting that James could fight, break curses, and even diagnose illnesses.
James smiled faintly and said, "It doesn't really affect your daily life."
"However, you should get more sunlight and keep warm."
"That accident, in addition to rendering you infertile for life, will also cause you to be paralyzed on one side of your body in your old age."
He reminded, "If you often go to damp places, you'll be in a wheelchair sooner."
The entire private room fell silent in an instant.
Anastasia's pretty face changed dramatically, and she shouted, "What nonsense are you spouting? If you don't know, don't talk nonsense."
"Let's go, he is just nonsense."
She pulled her man to leave.
"Shut up!" Jared yanked his wife away, then looked at James in shock and asked, "You're saying I'll be infertile for life, right?"
James sipped his tea and said, "That blow caused your spermatic vein to twist, leading to blood stagnation and blockage of the vas deferens."
"You can go to the hospital to check if you don't believe it."
Jacob chuckled, "James could speak of your childhood condition in one breath; if you still don't believe in his ability, then you really have a brain injury."
Several sycophants looked at Jared with pity.
Jared didn't speak, turning his head to stare at Anastasia.
At this moment, he was no longer nodding and bowing, no longer smiling humbly, but was filled with ferocity and murderous intent.
Anastasia panicked and said, "Honey, listen to me; Stanley really is your son."
Jared kicked her and walked out the door.
Anastasia hurriedly chased after him.
Jacob squinted slightly and said, "It's a night for killing."
