Chapter 434 Opening a Clinic in Stardust City
The eighth-floor ward of Glowing Oasis Hospital was in chaos that afternoon when James cured Matilda. Micah was like a raging bull, smashing everything in sight. "Useless, all of you! Absolutely useless! I've spent a fortune on you, and none of you are worth a damn!"
Even the hospital director got kicked across the room, writhing in pain on the floor.
The bodyguards and medical staff were frozen in fear, not daring to intervene or speak, lest they become Micah's next target.
After his outburst, Micah stormed over to Isla's bedside, glaring at her with fury.
Isla's face was pale, and her mind was foggy, clearly in agony.
Ten minutes earlier, three foreign doctors had left, having tried their best but ultimately expressing their regret that the toxins in Isla's body were beyond their capabilities.
This was the sixth batch of doctors, all internationally renowned, each charging millions of dollars for their services, yet none could help.
Isla had survived this long only because the director had confiscated the Toxiclear Elixir to keep her going.
But as time passed, the elixir's effects were diminishing, barely keeping her alive; she could die at any moment.
"Go, get me another batch of experts. No matter what, Isla must be saved."
Micah turned and kicked the director again. "If anything happens to her, you'll be buried with her."
"Mr. Gonzalez, I've already called in every toxin expert, both international and domestic. The entire medical community knows about her condition."
The director responded with his head bowed. "These six batches of doctors couldn't help, and now no one else dares to come. We can only wait for Ms. Kingsley's response now!"
"The Blood Medical Sect is highly skilled in biochemistry... no, in treating poison. I'm sure they can save Ms. Gonzalez!"
He regretted his actions deeply. If he had known it would come to this, he wouldn't have stolen James's credit for a bit of fame, dragging both himself and Isla into this mess.
To make matters worse, Gerald had used this opportunity to criticize the hospital's incompetence, not only purging many key members of The Gonzalez Family but also suspending the director.
Isla's position had temporarily been taken over by Kaida.
"I've spent so much money on you, and you're worthless." Micah slapped the director hard. "Isla got poisoned helping you. If anything happens to her, I'll kill you."
The director covered his cheek, saying nothing, praying silently for Isla to wake up.
Just then, Isla groaned, her hands flailing as she muttered incoherently.
"Kill me, kill me. It hurts, it hurts so much."
The toxins were not only affecting her mind but also causing excruciating pain in her joints, as if countless needles were piercing her body.
"Hurry, give her an injection, feed her the medicine." Micah shouted at the director and staff. "Isla can't die."
The director and staff quickly administered a painkiller injection and fed her three Toxiclear Elixir pills.
After ten minutes of chaos, Isla finally calmed down, though her face had darkened further.
"Isla, you can't die, and you won't die. I will save you." Micah held Isla's hand, speaking firmly. "Aurelia has gone to get doctors from the Blood Medical Sect. They'll be here soon to cure you."
"If that doesn't work, I'll ask my father to bring in the old master. He's a genius in both medicine and martial arts; he can definitely save you."
Besides being siblings, Isla's survival was crucial for Micah's plans in Glowing Oasis. Her death would be a significant blow to his ambitions.
He had fought hard to establish his position while Gerald was weakened, and Isla's death could trigger a chain reaction, jeopardizing everything.
So, no matter what, he had to save Isla.
Isla, regaining some strength, whispered, "James, James, be careful."
Micah responded firmly, "Isla, don't worry. I'll kill him and avenge you."
His hatred for James was deep-rooted. The conflict at the auction alone was enough for him to want James dead.
Isla's concern outweighed her anger. "Be careful of him."
"Mr. Gonzalez, Marshall Banks is here."
As Micah nodded dismissively, the door was gently knocked, and Aurelia entered with a middle-aged man.
The man was short and thin, but his eyes were sharp, like a rat in the night, exuding a sinister aura, his presence seeming to freeze the air in the room.
"Mr. Banks is an old friend of the Wolf Club and a bronze-level physician of the Blood Medical Sect, one of the few renowned doctors."
Aurelia introduced him to Micah. "He specializes in toxins and rushed here as soon as he heard about Ms. Gonzalez's condition."
Marshall extended his hand with a smile. "Mr. Gonzalez, pleased to meet you!"
"Mr. Banks, welcome. No need for formalities." Micah shook his hand eagerly. "My sister's condition is critical. Please check her and see if you can neutralize the toxins."
"If you can, I'll do everything in my power to fulfill one request of yours." His eyes shone with hope. "Mr. Banks, I'm counting on you."
"Sure, I'll do my best." Marshall smiled enigmatically and stepped forward to examine Isla.
"This toxin is indeed formidable. Few in the world could neutralize it." He sighed. "Ms. Gonzalez is in a dangerous state. Though the elixir is protecting her heart, it's barely holding on."
Micah's heart sank. "Mr. Banks, can you neutralize it?"
Marshall didn't answer immediately, looking at Micah with a sigh. "I can, but it will cost me dearly, almost my life."
He seemed conflicted and hesitant.
Micah's eyes lit up. "That's great, Mr. Banks. Please start treatment immediately. I'll compensate you for any cost."
He gripped Marshall's hand tightly. "Whatever you need, I'll do my best to provide."
Aurelia chimed in, "Yes, Mr. Gonzalez will make sure you're compensated."
"Alright, with your assurance, I'll proceed."
Marshall gritted his teeth and made his decision. He opened his medical kit, taking out a bronze syringe and a bottle of bronze liquid.
He drew the liquid into the syringe and slowly injected it into Isla's body.
Three minutes later, the darkness on Isla's face began to fade.
Five minutes later, her pain significantly lessened.
Ten minutes later, her breathing became smooth.
Half an hour later, aside from elevated white blood cells, Isla's vital signs returned to normal, her heartbeat stronger than before.
After a thorough examination confirmed Isla's recovery, Micah was ecstatic, hugging Marshall tightly. "This is incredible! Mr. Banks, thank you, thank you so much."
"You've saved Isla, and you've saved me, helping The Gonzalez Family immensely." He was overjoyed. "Tell me, how can I repay you?"
"Nothing special." Marshall smiled slyly. "Just a permit to open a clinic in Stardust City."
