Chapter 353 Went Crazy

The room went dead silent.

A young woman stepped forward and placed a tray in front of James.

The tray was a far cry from the $6,888 breakfast spread. It had just two sandwiches, a pie, a glass of milk, and a bowl of ravioli.

It looked like it cost only a few bucks and was clearly made by an amateur.

The woman was Kaida.

James squinted slightly. He had invited her for breakfast at 8:30, but she had shown up early and made breakfast for him.

"Homemade, Mr. Williams. Enjoy... James, you're something else." Anneliese snorted. "Not only are you pretentious, but you also hire people to act for you."

"I really can't stand you." Anneliese was determined to break up James and Olivia, convinced that Olivia must not be deceived by James.

"Yeah, James, get real. This act is pathetic and gross."

"And if you're going to put on a show, at least use better props. This breakfast looks awful, though you did put in some effort picking the 'actress.' She's quite pretty."

Calista shook her head mockingly, aiming to belittle James, but then she recognized Kaida's face. "Ms. Rivera!"

As a well-known member of the Glowing Oasis social circle, Calista certainly knew Kaida, the most prominent figure in Glowing Oasis.

Seeing Kaida delivering breakfast to James, Calista gasped and stood up abruptly, spilling milk and caviar all over the table.

Calista scrambled to clean up.

"Ms. Rivera, hello." Anneliese, who was sitting nearby, also recognized Kaida and stood up in a fluster.

The disdainful expression she usually wore vanished instantly.

Though Anneliese was a famous socialite in Glowing Oasis with a net worth in the millions, she was nowhere near Kaida's level.

Kaida was the undisputed top socialite of Glowing Oasis and the goddaughter of Gerald Rivera, the future heir of the Rivera Group. Anneliese couldn't compare.

"Ms. Rivera." The other restaurant patrons recognized Kaida and were equally shocked and awed.

They hadn't expected to see Kaida here, let alone delivering breakfast with such respect, which was usually reserved for Gerald.

Kaida nodded slightly in greeting, then turned to Calista and Anneliese. "You think my breakfast is awful?"

Kaida's voice was calm but made Calista and Anneliese tremble.

"No, no." Calista's face flushed. "It's us who are awful."

Anneliese chimed in, "Anything made by Ms. Rivera is the most delicious in the world."

Calista bowed her head in apology. "I'm sorry, Ms. Rivera. It's our fault for offending you."

Kaida ignored them and set the knife and fork in front of James. "Mr. Williams, I made this breakfast myself. It may not look great, but I spent two hours on it."

"Please have a try and see if you like it."

Kaida's usual arrogance was replaced with a hint of eagerness.

Seeing Kaida acting like a maid and serving James left everyone in the room stunned.

James was just an ordinary guy, unremarkable. How did he deserve such deference from Kaida?

"This can't be happening."

"How is this possible?"

"Ms. Rivera made him breakfast? And called him Mr. Williams?"

"Isn't he from a small town? An unlicensed doctor? How does he command such respect from Ms. Rivera?"

Calista and Anneliese gasped, their mouths agape in disbelief.

How did James have such influence?

"Mr. Williams is a distinguished guest of mine and my family." Kaida addressed Calista and Anneliese coldly. "From today on, opposing Mr. Williams means opposing the Rivera family."

Hearing this, Calista stared at James, feeling deeply conflicted.

She clutched her clothes tightly, overwhelmed with regret.

She could have used her connection with Olivia to become friends with James and, through him, gain favor with the Rivera family.

With the Rivera family's help, she could have risen significantly.

But she had squandered her chance.

Anneliese also felt a pang of regret.

She had never imagined that James had such power.

She had always looked down on James, thinking he was inferior to the wealthy heirs and even to herself.

But the reality was different.

Kaida had personally made breakfast for James, a privilege no wealthy heir could enjoy.

She now even feared James might seek revenge.

Seeing Calista and Anneliese standing awkwardly, James waved them away.

"You can leave now, but deliver a message for me."

"If Olivia wants me to return to Rosewood City, she needs to meet me in person."

"She has three days. If she doesn't show up, I'll go to the Lee family myself."

James's tone was firm and unquestionable.

"Yes, we understand."

"We'll definitely deliver the message."

Calista and Anneliese nodded repeatedly, then turned to Kaida.

"Goodbye, Ms. Rivera."

They hurriedly left, needing time to process the shock and inform Olivia.

Meanwhile, they were already planning how to get closer to James, hoping to gain his favor and elevate their status.

After they left, Kaida signaled to the Rivera Group bodyguards.

They quickly cleared the restaurant.

"This is a check for ten million dollars." Kaida took out a check and respectfully handed it to James. "Please accept it."

"Thank you." James didn't hesitate to take the check, knowing it was his due.

He smiled and said, "And also, thank you for the breakfast. It's all Glowing Oasis specialties. Very thoughtful."

James picked up the knife and fork and started eating. Despite the poor presentation, the taste was good, showing Kaida's effort.

"Your satisfaction is my greatest honor, Mr. Williams."

Kaida's face showed gratitude as she watched James eat. Not everyone had the courage to eat food made by a novice.

And this was her sincere effort.

Last night, James had invited her for breakfast at 8:30, so she had come early to the Lucky Hotel to prepare a Glowing Oasis specialty breakfast for him.

It was the best way to show her sincerity and please James.

Seeing James enjoy her food made Kaida happy, feeling her early efforts were worthwhile.

"The taste is good. Thanks again for the breakfast, Ms. Rivera. Next time, I'll treat you to a meal."

James finished the food on the tray and wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Give my regards to Mr. Rivera."

"Of course, I'll pass on your message."

Kaida saw James was about to leave and quickly took out a key card.

"Mr. Williams, since you're new here, you must need a place to stay."

"This is the key to the Dragon Villa at Twelve Constellations. It's a gift from Mr. Rivera, hoping you'll accept it."

Kaida added, "Mr. Rivera said he wants to be friends with you, so consider this a token of friendship."

A villa?

James was momentarily surprised, then smiled, understanding Gerald's intention to keep track of him.

With a villa, he couldn't disappear easily, and his whereabouts would be more predictable.

"Mr. Rivera is very considerate. I'll accept it."

James smiled and took the key card, avoiding any further gifts from Gerald. "Thank Mr. Rivera for me."

"Understood."

Kaida breathed a sigh of relief, but then her phone rang.

She answered it, and her face changed. "What? Mrs. Shaw has gone mad?"
