Chapter 363 Clarence Fisher

One of the young guys with a buzz cut grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it down.

The other guy's head split open instantly, blood pouring out.

Seeing the fat guy bleeding, the group of young men finally stopped.

"How dare you mess with my girl? I'll kill you."

He kicked the fat guy again before leading his crew away.

The fat guy struggled to stand up, clutching his bleeding head and growled, "Mess with me, Indigo, and you'll pay for this."

Indigo left, clutching his head in anger, while Kaitlyn pulled James into the VIP booth.

"Alright, I'll be waiting right here. Rememeber my name—Vincent Woods." The young guy grinned.

James glanced around and saw the booth labeled "Emperor's Seat" was spacious, occupied by over twenty well-dressed men and women.

The men were tall and muscular, including Vincent, the buzz-cut guy from earlier.

The women were much more refined, each dressed stylishly, with bright eyes and elegant manners, looking sexy and captivating under the dim lights.

But the most eye-catching were the two women in the center, not only dressed in glamorous outfits but also stunningly beautiful, with every smile and frown exuding charm.

Kaitlyn introduced them briefly: one was Seraphina Murphy, the other was Cressida Hamilton.

Vincent was Cressida's boyfriend and the stunt coordinator for the crew.

Compared to the showy Cressida, Seraphina was much colder, speaking little and sipping her drink casually.

Her aloofness only made her more desirable.

"Kaitlyn's here?"

"You're late, and you missed quite a show. Three drinks as a penalty."

Vincent, who had been excitedly discussing the fight with his friends, suddenly brightened up and called out to Kaitlyn.

Cressida also greeted Kaitlyn warmly, "Kaitlyn, come sit over here."

Clearly, Kaitlyn held some status in the crew.

Seraphina crossed her legs, her toes pointing forward, scrutinizing the out-of-place James.

Kaitlyn was so outstanding, yet James seemed so ordinary. It was odd.

"Seraphina, Cressida, Vincent, good evening, everyone. Sorry I'm late." Kaitlyn smiled and greeted everyone. "By the way, this is my friend, James, a doctor."

James politely greeted everyone, "Hello."

"Hello!" Seraphina and Cressida nodded in response but didn't offer a handshake, casually smiling and gesturing for James to sit down.

Though they were just minor actresses, they prided themselves on their sharp judgment.

James's outfit was worth no more than a thousand dollars, and he didn't have any luxury car keys. They saw no need to befriend him, a smile for Kaitlyn's sake was enough.

"A doctor, huh?" Vincent looked at James with a fake smile.

"Nice profession. I hear doctors can make over ten thousand dollars a day in bribes, more than us in the entertainment industry."

Kaitlyn had the looks and the body, with a bright future ahead, it was a shame she was with James.

Cressida and the others laughed, as if James was some corrupt doctor.

Kaitlyn's eyelid twitched, and she spoke up, "Don't talk nonsense. James isn't the type to take bribes. Besides, he doesn't work at a hospital; he runs his own clinic."

"Runs his own clinic? At this age, quite impressive."

Hearing this, Vincent and the others scoffed, their smiles even more disdainful. They thought he was some young talent, but he turned out to be a nobody.

Cressida's eyes flashed with contempt.

Seraphina sipped her wine, saying nothing, her interest in James waning.

Without deliberate distancing, there wouldn't be any forced enthusiasm.

James smiled, unfazed, watching them with self-assurance.

"By the way, Seraphina, what happened earlier?" Kaitlyn, worried James might be upset, quickly changed the subject. "Why did you guys beat up that fat guy?"

"Him? A loser. He drank too much and tried to hit on Cressida, even wanted to take her home."

Vincent explained proudly, "I went up and kicked him. Damn, touching my girlfriend? No way."

Cressida raised her chin. "Exactly, a greasy fat guy trying to touch me? Two slaps were too kind."

Talking about beating up Indigo, Vincent and his crew were all excited.

James hesitated. "That fat guy isn't just some random dude. I think we should leave and go somewhere else."

"Not just some random dude? How so?" Vincent sneered. "He's just a fat guy, a bit bigger, what's there to fear? I could take on ten of him with one hand."

"James, it's not the 1900s anymore. You don't have to bow down to powerful people." Cressida looked at James with disdain. "You need to learn to stand up for yourself."

"But I get it, a doctor from a small town, it's natural to be scared of people with connections."

Cressida mocked James mercilessly, feeling uncomfortable seeing him so close to Kaitlyn.

A beauty like Kaitlyn should be with a rich heir or a star, not some doctor.

Cressida felt this lowered the circle's standards.

Everyone laughed, seeing James as a coward afraid of people with connections.

Kaitlyn wanted to get angry, but James held her hand, signaling there was no need to argue.

Seraphina remained aloof, not joining in, but her expression showed disappointment.

The disappointment was not just because James feared people with connections, but also because he didn't stand up to the mockery. He lacked spirit.

James and Kaitlyn were not a good match.

Seraphina's fingers lightly rubbed her wine glass, her red nails seductive under the light, just like her, full of pride and coldness.

"I don't care if you laugh at me, just a reminder, that fat guy might have connections." James looked at Vincent and his crew. "We should move somewhere else."

"Enough, stop talking. Don't think we're cowards too." Cressida impatiently rolled her eyes. "If you're afraid of his revenge, just leave. We don't want to hang out with a coward."

Vincent broke a bottle with his bare hands. "See this? This is strength. I can take on ten fat guys."

Cressida and the others cheered, shouting Vincent's name.

James ignored them, wanting to leave the trouble behind: "Kaitlyn, let's go."

Kaitlyn didn't hesitate and stood up with James.

Seraphina shook her head again, thinking James was just a small-town doctor, unaware of their circle's power and her status.

Seraphina felt she was mysterious enough, but James failed to see her strength, making her look down on him more.

Cressida and the others were about to mock James when they saw someone at the booth entrance get kicked away.

Then, a dozen burly men walked in, each strong and tattooed.

James glanced at them, recognizing they were all tough fighters.

Behind them was the bruised and swollen Indigo, the fat guy from earlier.

"Clarence, these are the bastards who beat me up."

Indigo pointed at Vincent and his crew with venom.

Then, a bald man stepped forward, tall, with a hooked nose, no eyebrows or beard, looking like a fish.

Clarence held a bottle of whiskey, drinking and sneering at Vincent, "Kid, you got guts messing with my people."

Clarence's casual smile and sharp gaze were filled with killing intent, clearly a man with blood on his hands.

"So what if I mess with your people? I'll mess with you too." Vincent, drunk and fearless, grabbed a bottle and charged.

But before he got close, Clarence kicked him hard in the waist.

Vincent flew back, crashing into the booth wall, the sound of bones breaking clear.

Everyone gasped.

Vincent was in agony, not dead but with two broken ribs.

His crew, furious, charged with fists raised.

But they were quickly knocked down.

Facing seven or eight attackers, the bald man took them down one by one, punching each to the ground.

In less than five minutes, Vincent's crew lay scattered on the floor, leaving Seraphina and the other women, and the watching James.

Seeing the brutal scene, Cressida trembled and asked, "Who are you?"

Clarence sneered. "You don't know me, Clarence Fisher? How dare you mess with my people?"

"Clarence Fisher?" Vincent exclaimed in shock. "You're the Riverfront King?"
