Chapter 64 You Should Know the Nine Palace Reviving Needle
James and Olivia followed Bradley through the front hall, down a long corridor, and into the backyard of JZL Medical Hall.
Though the backyard was somewhat old-fashioned, it had a distinct Virtual architectural style, complete with small bridges, flowing water, pavilions, and rockeries.
The sunlight slanted, a warm breeze blew, and the trees rustled, creating a picturesque scene.
At this moment, a young woman in a long white dress was sitting in the pavilion, her dark hair elegantly pinned up. She held a book, gently flipping through its pages.
She was quiet and graceful, her delicate face radiant, exuding an air of scholarly elegance.
A trace of admiration flashed in James's eyes. These days, there are many beautiful girls; you can find plenty of fashionable and glamorous women on the streets.
But a girl as poetic and picturesque as Kelsey was rare indeed.
The girl asked, "Grandfather, is this the buyer you found?"
Seeing someone enter the courtyard, Kelsey closed her book and looked at Bradley, who was approaching, with a wry smile. "I've already told you, this leg can't be treated. That medicine only works on children. Using it on me is a pure waste of money."
She advised Bradley. "You don't need to sell this JZL Medical Hall and leave yourself without a place to stay."
Bradley said, "I only have you as my granddaughter. No matter how small the hope, I must try my best. Besides, if you can't live, what do I need this house for?"
Bradley said kindly, "If I keep the house, I'll be all alone, which would be even more miserable and pathetic. It's better to sell it and take a chance for you."
"Jennifer has been taking care of us a lot lately. We can leave the house to her," Kelsey suggested, her smile sweet and sincere. "If she's grateful, she'll stay with you and take care of you in your old age.
"Jennifer does come often, but she has too many thoughts," Bradley said indifferently. "Kelsey, just focus on getting better and don't think about other things."
Seeing Bradley like this, Kelsey stopped advising him and instead turned to James and Olivia with a smile. "Thank you both. Sorry for the trouble."
"Kelsey, I forgot to mention, this is James. He is the buyer and also a very skilled doctor." Bradley slapped his forehead and laughed. "He plans to take this house without spending a penny, so I brought him to see you."
"Buyer? Very skilled doctor?" Kelsey looked bewildered. "Grandfather, what are you talking about?"
Bradley quickly summarized the medical skills competition that had taken place in the hall earlier, but his explanation left Kelsey skeptical. She found it hard to believe that James was a highly skilled doctor. He was simply too young.
Yet, she knew that Bradley would never deceive her.
James smiled and extended his hand to Kelsey. "Kelsey, hello. My name is James."
"Hello, James," Kelsey replied politely, shaking his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for taking the trouble to treat me. You don't need to feel pressured; I've already come to terms with my condition."
She patted the diagnosis report on the table, indicating her understanding of her illness.
"Muscle atrophy," James confirmed the condition, smiling as he said, "I feel no pressure at all!"
Bradley was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
James responded calmly, "I can treat you!"
With a tone of excitement, Bradley turned to James. "You can help Kelsey to stand up?"
In the past, he would have certainly doubted it, even calling James a fraud. After all, neither he nor the hospital had been able to do anything about the illness.
But James's performance in the hall had earned Bradley's complete trust.
Kelsey also lifted her face, her expression hopeful yet uncertain. "Mr. Williams, are you sure you can treat me?"
James nodded earnestly. "Yes, I can!"
Bradley was overjoyed. "If you can cure her, this house is yours, and I owe you a great favor."
"Enough talk, let me treat Kelsey first." James didn't waste time with pleasantries, asking Bradley to bring a set of equipment.
Kelsey was straightforward, too. She reached out and rolled up her long dress, revealing two pale, slender, beautiful legs.
Bradley asked, "James, how do you plan to treat Kelsey?"
James responded calmly, "Activate the vitality of the muscles to stand up again."
"Bradley, Kelsey, where are you?" At that moment, a crisp, sweet, and familiar voice came from the corridor. "I brought Daniel to treat you."
James glanced at the corner of his eye and was slightly startled to find that it was Jennifer.
He was somewhat surprised. After the battle at SH Headquarters, Jennifer and Brian had fled early and disappeared from James' world, seemingly worrying about James' revenge.
James thought he would never see Jennifer again, but who knew he would meet her here?
The world was indeed small.
Bradley and Olivia looked over to see a group of men and women emerging from the corridor.
James noticed that several men and women were carrying medical kits besides Jennifer. One of them was slender and upright but with an extremely proud demeanor. His features bore some resemblance to Mark's.
Seeing Bradley, he nodded slightly. "Mr. Bradley, good morning."
"Jennifer, did you bring someone from the HC TCM Clinic?" Bradley narrowed his eyes a bit."Are you Mark's grandson, Daniel?"
Daniel smiled. "Mr. Bradley, you have a good memory. Yes, I am indeed Daniel."
Jennifer quickly explained, smiling, "Bradley, Daniel is my friend. His medical skills are exceptional and have recently improved significantly."
"After my earnest request, he agreed to treat Kelsey." Her eyes sparkled. "Bradley, let him give it a try. After all, there aren't any better options right now."
"Mark has already examined Kelsey and couldn't do anything. I doubt that you'll fare any better." Bradley looked at the proud Daniel and spoke coldly, "Besides, I've already asked Mr. Williams to take care of it."
He knew enough about the HC Clinic, being well aware that Mark had been unable to help and that Daniel was too ostentatious.
Among Mark's disciples, Daniel didn't even rank in the top ten. Bradley wouldn't let him waste their time.
He pointed lightly at James, issuing an eviction order to Daniel.
"Mr. Williams? James?" Jennifer was initially stunned, but then she saw James and exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"
James replied calmly, "If you can come, so can I."
"Jennifer, do you know Mr. Williams?" Bradley showed some interest. "He could treat Kelsey's illness and was about to start treatment."
Jennifer was first taken aback, then she stomped her feet repeatedly. "Bradley, you're being foolish, utterly foolish."
Jennifer said, "James is just a son-in-law living with his wife's family. He's my ex-boyfriend and has never studied medicine. He couldn't even help his mother when she was hospitalized with a stomach ailment. If you let him treat Kelsey, he'll kill her. You mustn't let him treat her, or there will be serious consequences."
As she exposed James's background, she kept shouting, "James, don't harm Kelsey. If you hate me, come at me. Do whatever you want to me, but don't touch Kelsey."
Bradley quickly pulled her back. "Jennifer, don't be reckless."
Kelsey also smiled. "Jennifer, I'm fine."
"Fine? It's a good thing I came in time, or you'd be doomed." Jennifer scolded, taking advantage of Bradley's momentary distraction to break free. She then rushed to James and slapped him hard.
Jennifer shouted, "I'll kill you, you worthless scum, for daring to harm Kelsey."
Before James could react, Olivia, quick as lightning, slapped Jennifer back, sending her flying.
Olivia shouted, "How dare you be disrespectful to James? Are you looking for trouble?"
Jennifer screamed and staggered back two steps, then covered her delicate face, seething with anger.
"Bradley, did you see that? She hit me," Jennifer shouted anxiously at Bradley. "They're teaming up to harm Kelsey. You mustn't let him treat her."
She wasn't denying James's ability to treat illnesses; on the contrary, Jennifer believed he might actually have the skills.
After the battle at SH Headquarters, Jennifer felt that James had changed, making her inexplicably believe he could cure Kelsey.
But Jennifer couldn't allow this. Even if there was a slight chance, she had to find a way to sabotage it.
Otherwise, if Kelsey got better, all her efforts over the past two months would be in vain, and today's schemes would be wasted.
Hearing that James was a fellow practitioner, Daniel, and the others looked at him with a mix of mockery and hostility.
"Jennifer, don't be impulsive," Bradley said, initially stunned by the revelation of James's connection to Jennifer.
He then pulled Jennifer aside and advised, "I don't know what James was like before, but his medical skills are truly exceptional."
Bradley, having witnessed James's astonishing performance in the hall, knew that James was highly skilled.
"Bradley, why don't you believe me?" Jennifer struggled and shouted, "He will kill Kelsey. You are misled by him. I can't let Kelsey get hurt."
She pushed James aside and stood protectively in front of Kelsey. "James, you might fool Bradley, but you can't fool me. If you want to harm Kelsey, you'll have to step over my dead body."
She pressed on aggressively. "Do you dare to admit publicly that you haven't attended medical school and don't have a medical license?"
"Sorry to disappoint you, but he does have a medical license," Olivia said mockingly, pulling out a booklet. "James is a fully qualified doctor."
She opened the booklet, revealing James's medical license with his information and official seal.
Jennifer was stunned. "How could this be?"
"Well, James, you've even learned to forge documents. Did you buy this fake license from Four Seasons Garden?" Jennifer sneered. "Bradley, he's a shameless fraud."
"Bradley, I don't know where you found this obscure doctor, nor do I understand why you trust him," Daniel interjected. "I just want to tell you that Kelsey's leg can only be treated by HC Clinic. No one else can cure it."
Bradley frowned slightly and asked, "Why?"
"Because I have inherited the Nine Palace Reviving Needle," Daniel said proudly. "With just three needles, I can cure the illness."
Bradley was very surprised.
