Chapter 370 Submit or Not?
"President Williams?"
"When did the Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance get a President Williams?"
"If he wasn't the president, why would Ruby and Francis be so respectful?"
"Could this President Williams be the same James involved in the president's death?"
"Oh my God, what kind of drama is this?"
Seeing James standing tall in the center of the ring, with Ruby and the others greeting him with utmost respect, the crowd was in shock, finding it hard to believe.
Despite their doubts, they had to keep them to themselves. With Ruby and the others' support, even a dog could become the president.
Seraphina was still in a daze, her eyes fixed on James in the ring.
Cressida's body was stiff, her legs trembling slightly. She wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.
Vincent was equally filled with despair. Thinking about how he had challenged James, his face turned pale, and he could barely stand.
The women around them were in turmoil, their nails digging into their palms without them even noticing.
James, President Williams—How could these two seemingly different people be connected?
One was Kaitlyn's boyfriend, a doctor from some neighborhood, ordinary except for his strength.
The other was a commanding figure in the Glowing Oasis, controlling thousands of followers and billions in assets, even more influential than Milo.
Both Vincent and Seraphina found it absurd, but the fact remained that Ruby and the others were showing James utmost respect.
It was unbelievable.
"Are you the James who killed the president?" After a brief shock, Crazy Bear was the first to react, shouting through his pain. "What right does a murderer have to be president?"
As soon as he spoke, Cressida and the others were stunned, their mouths agape. What? The former Mystic Alliance president Larry was killed by James?
Vincent collapsed to the ground upon hearing this.
Milo's confidants also started shouting, "A murderer as president? Ridiculous!"
"My name is James, and yes, many people believe I killed Larry." James's sharp gaze swept over Milo and his group. "But I am also the new president of the Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance."
"Lancelot was furious with the Glowing Oasis Mystic Alliance for being selfish and disorganized, so he sent me to clean up the mess."
"I have Ruby and the others' support. The only ones left are Milo's faction."
"I have one rule for integrating the Glowing Oasis: obey me and gain everything, defy me and die."
"So the outcome of tonight's match depends on your answer."
James's voice was firm. "Submit, or not?"
The crowd was in an uproar, unable to believe that James was indeed suspected of killing Larry.
Then they fell silent, sensing the deadly seriousness in James's seemingly gentle demeanor.
Seraphina and the others noticed that the exits had been closed at some point.
Tonight could end in a bloodbath if things went wrong.
Crazy Bear roared, "Ruby, the former president was your mentor, your godfather, and James is suspected of killing him."
He brandished his axe menacingly. "How can you and seven thousand followers respect him as president? Are you betraying the former president?"
Many people were stirred by his words, shouting accusations at Ruby.
Meanwhile, a woman and six followers approached, shields in hand, protecting Milo.
"The Mystic Alliance has enough evidence to prove that James had nothing to do with the former president's death." Ruby's voice was clear and decisive. "If James really killed him, would Lancelot have let him take over?"
The crowd fell silent, their anger dissipating. If James were truly the murderer, Lancelot wouldn't have let him become president.
"Whether James is the killer or not, he did injure the president. He's still our enemy."
Milo stood up, supporting the sentiment. He then turned to Ollie and shouted, "Ollie, are you gonna be his lapdog too?"
His voice was filled with frustration. "Ruby might betray for profit, but will you also sell out for benefits?"
Milo knew the situation was dire but also knew he had to show strength to avoid a worse fate.
"Milo, you're quite perceptive." Ollie stepped forward with a sinister smile. "Yeah, I am President Williams's lapdog, the most loyal and fierce one."
"Anyone who disrespects President Williams will be bitten to death by me."
Ollie then bared his teeth and barked at Milo and his group.
Seeing Ollie's shameless behavior, Seraphina and the others were both angry and helpless.
They never expected the rebellious Ollie to submit to James.
Milo couldn't help but shout, "Ollie, you're disgracing the Green family!"
"Milo, watch your words. I'm the head of the Green family now. Disrespecting me is disrespecting the Green family."
Ollie was confident. "I have no bottom line. Cross me, and your family might have accidents."
Milo's face darkened. "You little punk, you dare?"
"Mr. Murphy, enough with the nonsense and accusations."
"If you were truly loyal to the former president, you wouldn't have left me waiting in Rosewood City for a month with only Ruby coming for revenge."
James walked to the front of the ring, his gaze cold as he looked down at Milo and his group.
"Did you ever think about avenging Larry after he died?"
"In your heart, you were probably glad, eager to take his place."
James knew Milo's tough stance was just a bargaining tactic, but he wasn't giving him any leverage.
"So there's no need to dwell on Larry's death tonight." James's voice was firm. "I only ask you, submit, or not?"
Milo flicked away his unlit cigar and snorted, "A murderer as president? I don't submit."
Whether resisting or compromising, he wouldn't easily give in, or he'd lose his bargaining power.
As soon as Milo finished speaking, James made his move.
Though he looked frail, his attacks were unstoppable.
With the first strike, three shields were sent flying.
With the second, Crazy Bear was thrown, axe and all.
With the third, four confidants fell, and Milo retreated in fear.
James took two more steps and struck three more times. Milo retreated eight steps but couldn't escape James's grasp. Desperate, he grabbed a sword to block.
James's hand bypassed the sword and struck Milo's chest.
To Seraphina and Cressida, James's moves seemed gentle.
But Milo roared in pain, blood spraying as he was sent flying, his sword clattering away.
As he hit the ground, a cold hand gripped his throat.
"Didn't hear you clearly. Say it again." James's voice was cold as he looked at Milo. "Submit, or not?"
The crowd was dead silent.
How could this be?
They had never seen James in action and were stunned.
They couldn't believe Milo was powerless against James.
Milo was the vice president, stronger than Crazy Bear. How could James control his fate so easily?
Seraphina trembled, completely shocked by James. She rushed to him, pleading, "James, he's my father. Don't hurt him."
Seraphina's tearful plea was heart-wrenching.
James remained unmoved, looking at Milo. "Submit, or not?"
The gap was too vast.
With no bargaining power left, Milo looked at James with a defeated expression. "Milo acknowledges President Williams!"
Crazy Bear and the others knelt on one knee. "We acknowledge President Williams!"
The outcome was decided.
