Chapter 275 I Know His Heartache

The next two days, James did not encounter the storm.

Rosewood City remained completely calm.

However, this tranquility made many people feel oppressed, sensing it as a precursor to a storm.

But James didn't pay much attention to it, he was focus on Virgil, he carefully treated him so that Virgil could get out of bed and walk.

James gathered Sebastian and Nathaniel for a meal, both to celebrate Virgil's recovery and to prepare for the opening of JZL Medical Clinic.

In three days, JZL Medical Clinic would open, it was a major achievement for James, making him somewhat nervous.

Under Virgil's guidance, James personally wrote the invitations and had them delivered to each household.

At the same time, James also sent them a large bottle of high-purity Bashful Flower beauty cream.

However, when it came to The Miller family, James hesitated, unsure whether to invite them due to their sensitive status.

While he was considering, David called, informing him that Mr. Miller had some chest pain and asked James to take a look.

James immediately had Samuel take him to The Miller family garden.

Half an hour later, James appeared at The Miller family’s door.

David had been waiting at the door and, upon seeing James, immediately came up and grabbed his hand, saying, "James, come quickly and see Mr. Miller. He hasn't eaten for two days, just sulking alone. I went to Stardust City to visit Matthew these past few days, and as soon as I got back this morning, Scott told me Mr. Miller almost fainted. The family doctor gave him emergency treatment, and although he's fine now, he looks much more haggard and aged. The doctor found nothing wrong, and he won't talk to us. I have no choice but to ask you to come over."

David was very anxious, clearly concerned about Brandon's health, so he rushed over as soon as he got off the plane upon hearing the news.

"Mr. Miller shouldn't have any issues." James followed David while speaking in surprise, "Last time I diagnosed him, his lung abscess was healed, and other minor ailments were gone."

David spread his hands, "I don't know what's wrong with him either, but it's really difficult now."

Halfway there, James suddenly stopped, his nose twitching as he caught a whiff of a bamboo-like fragrant alcohol scent.

The scent wasn't strong but very refreshing. Just a light sniff made him feel invigorated, the rich aroma filling his senses, making him feel indescribably pleasant.

This was an extraordinary wine.

James looked up and saw a room with a slightly ajar wooden door, the scent emanating from within.

He asked, "Mr. David Miller, what is that place?"

"That's Mr. Miller's study. He used to stay in there every day reading and practicing calligraphy, but the servants said he hasn't been in there these past two days." David explained, then shivered, "Could there be something wrong with the study? Some evil spirit tormenting Mr. Miller?"

After being spooked by a portrait last time, he was very sensitive to these things.

"No, Mr. Miller is righteous and holds a high position, evil spirits wouldn't dare to offend him." James smiled, "I just smelled a scent of alcohol."

"Alcohol? That's impossible." David shook his head lightly, "Mr. Miller used to be a heavy drinker, consuming 18 to 36 ounces almost every day."

"But after the lung abscess, he hasn't touched alcohol. He mostly drinks tea, only occasionally having half a glass of red wine with old friends. In other words, after a brush with death, he became extremely cautious and cherishes his health. He wouldn't hide alcohol in the study to drink secretly." David still had confidence in Brandon.

James smiled, "Alright, let's go see Mr. Miller first."

His curiosity about the alcohol scent was purely because it was so unique, just a sniff made him feel a sense of attachment.

Five minutes later, James appeared in front of Brandon.

Brandon was sitting in a rocking chair, looking haggard, coughing occasionally, breathing heavily, and appearing very oppressed.

Seeing James, his expression softened, "James, you're here?"

Scott was also there today, and upon seeing James, he quickly spoke up, "James, please take a look at Mr. Miller."

"I'm fine, there is no need to trouble James." Brandon glared at them, scolding, "James is very busy now, calling him over is a waste of his time."

David and Scott looked worried, "You've been fasting for two days, haven't spoken to anyone, and you're barely breathing with a grim face. You almost passed out, and you're saying you're alright?"

"Mr. Miller, it's no trouble, I have plenty of time." James smiled and sat down, then took Brandon's hand, "Let me take a look."

Brandon had driven away several family doctors, but seeing James diagnosing him, he just smiled helplessly, letting him hold his hand for the diagnosis.

During the diagnosis, James again smelled the alcohol scent, refreshing and pleasant, emanating from Brandon's fingers and palms.

It wasn't strong, just a trace, but it was real, allowing James to catch it.

Two minutes later, James released Brandon's hand, then looked at him and smiled, "Mr. Miller, it's a matter of the heart."

Brandon was stunned, then sighed.

"A matter of the heart?" David was shocked, stepping forward and grabbing Brandon's hand, asking, "Dad, what's on your mind? Tell us. No matter what it is, we'll spare no effort to help you."

Scott added,"Do you want Matthew to come back and keep you company, or are some old rivals bothering you?"

Both of them looked puzzled.Brandon had everything he wanted now, how could he have a matter of the heart?

"None of that." Brandon looked at his two sons with displeasure, waving his hand impatiently, "You two go do your own work, stop hovering around me and causing trouble. You can't solve it, and no one can. Stop bothering me."

He inexplicably grew angry and firmly refused to mention his heart issue.

"Let's go out first."David and Scott wanted to say more, but James reached out and pulled them, "Don't make Mr. Miller angry."

The two had no choice but to follow James out.

Scott muttered, "James, what's wrong with my dad? Is it menopause?"

"James couldn't know everything. If dad doesn't say the reason, how could James know what the heart issue is?" David impatiently interjected, "We can only call the servants and guards to ask what happened these days."

James looked at the two and said, "Mr. David Miller, take me to the study."

David was puzzled but didn't ask much, "Alright, I'll take you."

Three minutes later, James and David appeared in Brandon's study. The room wasn't large but was filled with books, calligraphy, and some old photos.

However, James didn't scrutinize the environment much but followed the alcohol scent to a corner, quickly finding a wooden trash can.

Inside the trash can, besides a pile of torn rice paper, were a few small fragments, emitting the scent of bamboo leaves.

James picked up the fragments and quickly arranged them. In less than a minute, a small wine bottle appeared in his view.

He pinched the intact seal, with a few traces of dust, and turned to them with a smile, "I know Mr. Miller's heart issue."
