Chapter 435 All Poisoned
Micah's smile turned sly. Stardust City had a ton of international hospitals and clinics, so getting a permit for Marshall shouldn't be too tough.
But Micah couldn't believe Marshall went to such lengths to save his sister just to open a clinic in Stardust City.
This shady guy must have some other plans, hiding behind the clinic and the protection of The Gonzalez Family.
Micah looked at Marshall and chuckled, "Mr. Banks, opening a clinic in Stardust City isn't a walk in the park."
"I get that it's not easy, which is why I need your help." Marshall put away the bronze syringe and smiled. "This serum is called 'Revival Elixir.'"
"It's a life-saving potion from the Blood Medical Sect, given to bronze-level physicians. No matter the injury or poison, as long as there's a breath left, this will bring them back."
"But this elixir is crazy expensive, made from top-tier ingredients and various biological blood fusions—each syringe costs a hundred million dollars."
"So not every disciple of the Blood Medical Sect can have it; only those with special contributions are rewarded." He stared intently at Micah. "And each person is rewarded only once."
Aurelia gasped in surprise, "So, you used your own backup supply to save the poisoned Ms. Gonzalez?"
Marshall smiled faintly, "You could say that."
"Mr. Banks, your selflessness is admirable," Micah said with a smile. With Marshall's words, refusing would be unreasonable. At worst, he could join the clinic and keep an eye on it.
"Alright, I'll get you the permit."
"But it'll take a month or so. I need to handle it personally when I return to Stardust City, since you're a foreigner, and foreign clinics require my intervention."
Getting a permit was actually easy for him, but he would be responsible for any issues and provide protection.
If possible, Micah would rather settle things with money.
Marshall smiled warmly, "I'll follow your arrangements."
Just then, the door opened, and a Wolf Club member came in with a box. "Ms. Kingsley, your delivery is here."
Aurelia was puzzled. "Delivery? When did I order delivery?"
"A delivery guy came by earlier." The Wolf Club member looked confused. "He said it was papaya with snow frog. I checked the package, and it is food."
He confirmed the food before accepting it, not foolishly handing over random deliveries to Aurelia.
"Papaya with snow frog?" Aurelia and Marshall exchanged a shocked glance.
"Papaya with snow frog, a delicacy. Is it for Isla? Aurelia, you're thoughtful."
Micah casually took the delivery and placed it on the table. Inside was a large ceramic pot, steaming and fragrant.
He took a deep breath and opened the lid.
Almost immediately, Micah threw the lid away and stepped back.
An elderly man sprang from the corner, protectively standing in front of Micah.
In the pot, a blood-red frog sat, its eyes bulging with a fierce glare, though it was dead.
The pot had been boiled thoroughly, not only was the frog cooked, but the broth was thick and red like blood.
"What the hell is this?" Micah glared at the pot and shouted, "Aurelia, what is this?"
The director and others shuddered and retreated, gagging in the hallway.
"Mr. Gonzalez, this wasn't me." Aurelia exhaled, "This is likely James's prank."
Marshall remained silent, his eyes filled with murderous intent, his nails digging into his flesh, as if the frog was his child.
"Damn it, that bastard again." Micah was furious. "He keeps messing with me. I want him dead, dead!"
Aurelia's lips twitched. "Mr. Gonzalez, maybe you should let it go. James is skilled and cunning, several of my men have failed against him."
She added casually, "Maybe I should apologize, pay him off, and we can avoid each other?"
"Apologize? Compensate?" Micah was even more agitated. "He publicly defied me and poisoned Isla, and I should bow to him?"
"Who does he think he is? Do you think the Five Families are dead?"
"Mr. Banks, do me another favor—kill James."
"If you succeed, I'll not only protect your clinic in Stardust City, but also get you a pharmaceutical production license."
He looked at Marshall. "The money from selling medicine is far more than from treating patients."
Despite his anger, Micah remained rational, knowing how to use others to his advantage.
"Mr. Gonzalez, I'm a doctor, not a hitman." Marshall said meaningfully, "I don't kill casually."
"Others may not understand the Blood Medical Sect, but I do." Micah stepped forward. "You excel in medicine, martial arts, poisoning, and sorcery. For you, killing someone is like killing a dog."
"How about a partnership? Seventy-thirty."
Marshall thought for a moment. With The Gonzalez Family involved, he could establish himself better.
"I said, I'm a doctor, not a hitman!" Marshall calmly looked at Micah and smiled, "But anyone who makes you hate them so much must be despicable, and they deserve to be eradicated, for the good of the people."
He picked up his medical kit and headed out. "Wait for my good news."
As dusk approached, James left the private clinic. Matilda had woken up and regained her senses after his treatment.
Byron was delighted, not only paying James ten million dollars but also inviting him to River View Tower for a celebration.
However, James politely declined. Matilda had just woken up and needed company, and Byron likely wanted to spend time with her.
James also postponed the Sky Wolf matter, so Byron wouldn't neglect Matilda.
He asked Byron to invite him in a few days.
Byron didn't insist, personally escorting James out and leaving his private number, saying James could call anytime.
After saying goodbye to Byron, James took Olivia home and was about to call a car to return to Leo Villa when his phone vibrated.
He glanced at the number, surprised. It was Coralie.
James answered, and Coralie's weak voice came through, "James... James... come quickly... save us... we're all poisoned."
