Chapter 149 Danger
Seeing Olivia and Taylor step out of the Ferrari, James understood why Mary stormed off in anger, but he didn't dwell on it.
He felt he had done right by Mary and the Smith Family, but they owed him quite a bit.
Aaron and the others could tell there was tension between the parties, but they didn't pry. Instead, they laughed and pulled James toward the Enchanted Vine Tavern.
The parking lot was only a few dozen feet from the entrance, but it was crowded with people, bodyguards, restaurant greeters, and many onlookers.
Halfway there, James' gaze shifted slightly toward a nearby restaurant greeter.
This greeter was petite and silent, looking quite unremarkable. She didn't seem excited or nervous about Aaron and the others' presence.
Unusually calm.
It was this calm demeanor that made James take a second look.
James noticed that the petite greeter's lowered hand was very steady, and the flower basket she held was very still, like a patient hunter.
As James followed Aaron another dozen feet, he saw the petite greeter slowly lift the flower basket.
The next second, a sound rang out.
'Needles!'
James, very familiar with silver needles, made a quick judgment and, without hesitation, pounced on Aaron like a leopard.
At the same time, he shouted, "Get down."
He rolled with Aaron twice.
Aaron instinctively grabbed James' hand, but seeing that James made no further moves, he stopped struggling.
"James, what's going on?"
James replied, "Hitman!"
"What are you doing?" Seeing James pin Aaron to the ground, several of The Collins bodyguards' faces changed drastically, and they rushed to control James and rescue Aaron.
But just as they started, they noticed something was wrong. Serena and a few security guards were swaying and falling to the ground.
They were in the direction Aaron had been pushed.
Jacob rushed over and saw a cluster of fine needles on their bodies, his face changing drastically.
"There's a hitman! Protect Mr. Collins!"
Olivia also locked onto the petite greeter. "It's her."
The Collins family's bodyguards were shocked. They hadn't expected a hitman to be among the crowd, let alone someone daring to target Aaron.
Everyone knew that if someone tried to kill Aaron and was found out, it would result in a massacre.
So, for the past ten years, there had been no attempts on Aaron's life.
This had made the Collins family's bodyguards somewhat lax, and now they were a bit stunned by the sudden change. However, they were professionals and quickly reacted.
Some retreated to protect Aaron, while others drew their weapons and surrounded the hitman.
But before the Collins family's bodyguards could close in, the petite greeter moved, creating a gap in the human wall.
Seven or eight bodyguards groaned and were thrown out with their weapons.
Some had broken limbs, showing the enemy's immense strength.
James squinted slightly, sensing the opponent's power, and pulled Aaron back another step.
Then he moved a few steps away, keeping an eye on Olivia in the distance.
He wanted to act but was worried there might be other hitmen in the crowd. If someone took advantage of the chaos to kill Olivia, he would regret it.
Unconsciously, Olivia had become important to him.
Olivia also pulled Taylor back while shouting to the Collins family's bodyguards, "Use your guns."
A dozen people drew their guns simultaneously, pointing them at the petite greeter with fierce expressions.
The petite greeter remained calm, but her murderous gaze was unsettling.
She seemed to have waited a long time for this opportunity, so her attack was ruthless.
With a wave of her hands, two steel arms appeared, and she clenched her fists.
A large number of silver needles rained down on them.
Nearly a thousand silver needles sparkled in everyone's eyes.
The next second, a dozen of the Collins family's bodyguards screamed, clutching their throats and falling to the ground.
It was so fast that the bodyguards couldn't react.
Olivia shouted again, "She's Kylie Ramirez!"
She couldn't recognize the heavily made-up face, but seeing the technique with the hidden weapons, she immediately identified her.
Kylie, one of Bryan Bennett's four girls.
Compared to Barbie and Bella, Kylie was stronger and more cunning. Besides her exceptional skills, she was also adept at killing with hidden weapons.
And silver needles were her most powerful weapon, having killed many highly skilled individuals.
"Kill her!" Jacob and the others roared, raising their guns at Kylie.
Kylie spread her hands, clenched her fists, and another handful of silver needles shot out.
The dozen bodyguards couldn't dodge and fell to the ground, groaning, their guns flying out of their hands.
But Kylie had run out of silver needles.
Jacob didn't have time to pick up a gun and charged with his men.
But before they could surround Kylie, she appeared in front of them, her toes almost colliding with steel.
Jacob's eyes widened, feeling a surge of brute force and intense pain all over his body.
Kylie bumped her shoulder, and Jacob spat blood, flying backward, leaving a trail of several feet.
Without looking at her opponent, Kylie raised her left hand backward, catching another person's kicking left foot.
Her five fingers closed like iron clamps, producing a dull thud.
The leg broke with a scream.
Then, Kylie used the body to smash into the remaining bodyguards, knocking several of them down.
Two people roared, seizing the chance to draw their knives and attack Kylie's back.
Without looking, Kylie instinctively turned, her fists meeting theirs head-on.
The two were hit in the chest, screaming and flying out.
Like a hot knife through butter.
Kylie instantly broke the two circles of protection and encirclement, revealing Aaron's figure.
"Kill."
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Kylie slid her steps, closing the distance to Aaron.
She spread her left hand, a dagger in hand, and ruthlessly stabbed at Aaron, aiming for a heart-piercing strike.
Just as the dagger was about to stab Aaron, a white light flashed before everyone's eyes, and the dagger was knocked away.
The next second, there was a rush of footsteps, and James arrived, landing and catching the sword.
He swung the sword.
Kylie, not to be outdone, also struck with great force.
They saw the determination in each other's eyes and met at that moment.
They collided like fierce tigers and lions, deciding the outcome in one move.
James' sword struck down.
Kylie's face changed drastically, feeling a mountain pressing down, a weight that brought despair.
Kylie wanted to retreat but couldn't move her feet. She tried to block but couldn't stop the overwhelming force.
The sword, carried by the night wind, cut down, severing the dagger and then slicing it into Kylie's neck.
Kylie's head was separated from her body.
