Chapter 37

Mark's eyes showed approval. He said, "James's medical skills surpass mine; I suggest you all trust James this time."

Olivia also nodded in agreement and said, "Yes, James truly has the skills."

"James, Taylor was ignorant; I apologize to you on her behalf," Raymond bowed deeply to James and said, "Please, go ahead and treat me. Whether I live or die, I'll accept the outcome."

"If you can cure me, I'll give you half of my estate!"

"If you can't cure me, it doesn't matter; it won't get any worse."

He was living in too much pain now, with constant abdominal cramps and insomia. Despite his doubts about James, he had no other options since only James dared to claim he could cure him.

"Mr. Clark, you are too kind." James initially wanted to leave, but seeing Raymond's ghostly state, he felt a wave of compassion.

After all, Raymond's attitude was still quite good.

Taylor instinctively shouted, "Grandfather."

James's gaze turned cold as he looked at Taylor. He said, "Taylor, if you don't trust my medical skills, then let's make a bet today."

"If I can't cure your grandfather today, I will never practice medicine again, and I'll leave on my knees."

"But if I do cure your grandfather, I don't want half of the Clark estate; I only want you to be my maid for a year."

"How about it, Ms. Clark? Do you dare to take the bet?"

James challenged her and said, "This bet, for you, is all gain and no loss."

"If you win, laugh at me as you please."

"If you lose, you just cook and clean for me for a year, and in turn, your grandfather escapes death."

He decided to curb Taylor's arrogance and make this ignorant woman pay a price.

Taylor was initially taken aback, then through gritted teeth, she agreed, "Fine, I'll take your bet, with Mark and Olivia as witnesses."

"If I lose, I'll be your maid."

With the bet set, James used the power of the Life Gem to treat Raymond.

In just a few minutes, he cured Raymond's illness!

Olivia asked with a playful smile, "Mr. Clark, how do you feel now?"

James handed Raymond a cup of warm water.

Raymond's eyelids twitched as he took the glass with trembling hands.

Previously, every time he ate something warm, his stomach would churn painfully, so now, holding the cup, Raymond felt an instinctive fear. But in the end, he gritted his teeth and gulped it down.

Moments later, the cup was empty, and his stomach felt warm. The old twisting pain was gone. The torment of churning seas had completely dissipated.

He was ecstatic and said, "It's gone, it's really gone. There is no more pain."

Taylor and the others could also feel that Raymond's spirit had improved significantly.

Mark sighed in amazement and said, "James is truly miraculous; I admire you, truly admire you."

Taylor hesitantly asked, "Is my grandfather alright now?"

James looked at Raymond and smiled. "In a moment, I'll prescribe for you; just follow it and brew the medicine accordingly."

James wrote a prescription and instructed the Clark family to prepare the medicine as instructed.

Afterward, he stayed in the kitchen to brew the medicine.

James discovered that the white glow of the Life Gem had finally turned into three pieces.

'Can three pieces directly save someone?' While James was pondering this, Mark approached with an awkward expression.

James looked up and smiled. "Mr. Anderson, what's the matter? Is something wrong with Raymond?"

"No, no, he's doing very well; I've checked his body, and his pulse and heartbeat are all normal now."

Mark's smile was kind. He said, "He ate hot cereal and fell asleep, snoring so loudly you can't wake him."

"This is the first time he's slept so soundly in half a month."

James nodded lightly." Good, as long as he can fall asleep. After taking a few more doses of my medicine, he'll be completely fine."

"James, your skill in reviving the dying is incredible." Mark lavished praise upon James.

James laughed and said, "Mr. Anderson, just speak frankly."

Mark was taken aback, then laughed embarrassedly. "It seems flattery is also an art; otherwise, it's easy to be seen through."

He added, "James, I have an impertinent request."

Mark looked like a child making an unreasonable demand, saying, "Could you teach me your acupuncture skills?"

"I'll pay for it; any amount of money will do!"

His head bowed completely. He added, "You can tell me the price."

Mark looked at James with great anticipation.

"If it's not possible, forget it; I have been presumptuous." Mark's face was flushed with an indescribable apology. He said, "I hope you'll forgive me, James."

"What money? Mark, you are kidding." James laughed heartily. "I'll teach you for free."

Mark was stunned and asked, "Really?"

He couldn't believe that James was willing to teach him such a valuable acupuncture technique for free!

"Of course, for free. Medical skills are for saving people; the more people who learn, the better." James was generous. "Come on, while I still have some strength left, I'll start by teaching you the basics."

Mark shivered with excitement and asked, "Are you really willing to teach me?"

James nodded. "If you learn it, you will save more patients. It's a noble cause."

Mark knelt and said, "Mr. William, thank you for your generosity."
