Chapter 113 You are Commiting Murder

Lydia was beaten to a pulp by Mrs. Thompson and then detained by the police. She was crying bitterly and deeply regretting her actions.

Katherine got James' phone number from Lydia, and after confirming the address, she drove straight to JZL Medical Hall.

"It's you!" Seeing the familiar face, Katherine was shocked. She didn't expect that the one who saved Gabriella was James.

Thinking about how James had saved David, she was completely convinced of James' abilities, though her face remained stern.

"Get in the car quickly. Lydia pulled out one of the needles, and Miss Thompson's in the brink of death." Katherine added, "We've tried to save her, but she's still in critical condition. At this rate, she might not make it until noon."

James thought, 'The needle was pulled out?'

James was taken aback and immediately realized that Gabriella didn't have much time left, so he didn't put on any airs with Katherine. "I thought it was someone from the Thompson family coming to get me."

He really didn't expect Katherine to come looking for him.

Katherine said, "Lydia is from the First Hospital of Rosewood City. Her falsified information not only delayed Miss Thompson's treatment but also made Mr. Thompson very angry."

Katherine shook her head slightly at James as she turned the steering wheel. "They don't trust me, the Rosewood City Hospital, or even you anymore. They've told both me and the hospital to stay out of it, using their connections to find other doctors to save her. I shouldn't be meddling anymore, but I still want to do something for the hospital. If we don't properly make amends or save Miss Thompson, a lot of people will be in trouble," she conveyed her concerns.

The involved personnel could be dismissed and expelled from the medical system at best or sent to prison for ten years at worst. The hospital might also face downgrading and restructuring.

"So I have to bring you back no matter what." Katherine said confidently, "Whether you can save Miss Thompson or not, at least I can have a clear conscience."

"That's a good mindset." James smiled faintly. "But don't worry, Gabriella will be fine. I saved her last night, and I can save her again today."

"I can even cure your skin condition." James exuded strong confidence. "Just don't forget to come and sweep the floor."

Katherine's face turned cold, and she snorted, "If you can help with Gabriella and change Mr. Thompson's opinion of the hospital, I won't just sweep the floor. I'll even acknowledge you as my mentor."

She didn't want to bow down to James, but she had to admit that James' medical skills were far superior to hers.

James shrugged. "Sorry, I can't take you as a disciple."

"Bastard, what did you say?" Katherine's face turned red with anger. "I'm a top student, and you don't want me as a disciple!"

"I already have two disciples, one named Mark and the other named Bradley," James casually remarked, "Taking you as a disciple would be disrespectful to them."

Katherine trembled as she looked at James in disbelief. She couldn't imagine that Mark and Bradley had become James' disciples.

Half an hour later, Katherine brought James to the intensive care unit of Rosewood City Hospital.

Two bodyguards in sunglasses stood at the door, showing how much the Thompson family valued Gabriella.

Katherine greeted them and then pulled James into the ward.

Inside the ward stood seven or eight well-dressed men and women.

One of the middle-aged men stood there, his hands clasped behind his back, his expression filled with anxiety.

Beside him stood a captivating and beautiful woman.

James recognized them as Andrew and Mrs. Thompson.

On the hospital bed, Gabriella lay still as stone, her jaw set tight, her eyes firmly closed, her face a shade of deathly white.

The beeping monitors beside her bed were teetering on the brink of alarm.

Her life was hanging by a thread.

James also saw an elderly man with a white beard sitting beside Gabriella.

The old man was about sixty years old, with a long beard, a fat body, and about 5 feet 3 inches tall, but he looked very energetic.

His fingers were on Gabriella's wrist.

Katherine whispered to James, "That white-bearded doctor is a famous physician named Alexander Carter, who was invited by Mrs. Thompson."

James nodded slightly.

At this moment, Alexander was moving his fingers, assessing Gabriella's condition.

Andrew and the others watched nervously, even deliberately slowing their breathing, afraid of disturbing Alexander's diagnosis.

Five minutes later, Alexander removed his fingers, his expression unchanged.

"How is it, sir? How is my daughter?" Andrew clenched his fists, his eyes burning with intensity. "Can she wake up?"

Mark and Bradley were in seclusion, and Randy was buried in researching the Bashful Flower formula. Andrew couldn't find any of the three top experts in Rosewood City.

He could only pin his hopes on Alexander, whom his wife had found.

"It's quite troublesome!"

Alexander frowned, shaking his head repeatedly.

Andrew was heartbroken. "You can'thelp?"

"That's not it!" Alexander laughed heartily, immediately reigniting Andrew's hope. "What I mean is, I can treat Miss Thompson's condition, but it's quite troublesome. I have to use a special acupuncture technique to save Gabriella."

He added. "But using this technique will not only deplete my energy but also shorten my lifespan by several years."

James was slightly stunned. Alexander was impressive; even he found it tricky, yet Alexander seemed unfazed.

Andrew and the others were overjoyed at the news.

Andrew stepped forward. "Gabriella is my precious daughter. I don't want to lose her. Mr. Carter, please save Gabriella. We are willing to compensate you for the years of life you lose."

He pulled out a check and handed it over. "Ten million dollars, please, Mr. Carter, do something. And I represent the Thompson family in promising that from now on, Mr. Carter and your family's matters will be my matters."

Mrs. Thompson also stepped forward to express her stance.

"Once Gabriella recovers, I will have her acknowledge you as her godfather and honor you every year."

Alexander showed a satisfied expression and then brought over his medical kit.

"Alright, then, I will defy the heavens and change fate. I will start the acupuncture now. After the treatment, Miss Thompson will be out of danger and awake within half an hour."

Alexander took out a row of silver needles.

Awake in half an hour!

Andrew and the others exclaimed with joy, "Thank you very much."

Having experienced hope and disappointment, they cherished Gabriella's life even more.

At this moment, Alexander didn't hold back, picking up a silver needle and gently inserting it into Gabriella's temple.

James frowned as he watched the position of the silver needle.

Alexander continued to insert one needle after another.

Andrew and the others could clearly see Gabriella's face becoming rosy, her breathing increasing, and her fingers trembling.

The monitoring equipment showed readings jumping towards normal levels.

Gabriella appeared to be full of life.

Katherine sighed. "This Alexander is truly an expert."

James remained silent, just staring at the silver needles.

Alexander picked up the last silver needle, skillfully aiming for the most critical spot.

"Stop!" James shouted, "You're committing murder!"
