Chapter 131 Going to Challenge
An hour later, John and his gang were thrown into a van with broken limbs. Shortly after, a few police officers came and drove the van away.
They wouldn't be able to get out of bed or prison for at least three to five months.
After James finished treating the remaining patients, Jared ran up to him and reported the results of the interrogation.
"That old man is indeed named John, and the middle-aged woman is Evelyn Johnson. They were sent by Bright Heart Hall Clinic."
"Last time, Bright Heart Hall Clinic tried to mess with JZL Medical Hall but failed. Not only did they lose face, but all the patients came to us instead."
"Bright Heart Hall Clinic was furious, so they sent people disguised as dead to cause trouble, aiming to ruin our reputation and shut down our clinic."
"Who knew they'd end up suffering the consequences themselves."
Hearing this, Daniel sighed, "We shouldn't have let Bright Heart Hall Clinic off the hook last time. We provided them with an escape route, but they mistook our kindness for weakness, testing their luck."
James spoke calmly, "Who's the boss of Bright Heart Hall Clinic?"
Jared quickly provided the name. "Alexander."
"He's really something." James laughed and then called out to Daniel, "Daniel, let's go challenge him."
James initially wanted to give Bright Heart Hall Clinic a way out, but since they even resorted to faking deaths, he decided to crush them.
Especially since their boss, Alexander, was so greedy and unscrupulous.
Hearing there was going to be a show, Daniel grabbed his medical kit and followed James across the street. Many curious patients and their families excitedly followed as well.
Bright Heart Hall Clinic had few patients, and when James stormed in, they were so frightened that they scattered, leaving the entire hall empty.
A few of Alexander's apprentices stepped forward.
A middle-aged doctor in a long robe shouted, "What are you doing? Who gave you the guts to cause trouble here?"
A handsome young doctor also glared. "Is this a place for you to act wild? Get out, now."
A pretty female doctor furrowed her brows. "I'll give you thirty seconds to disappear from our sight."
"Enough talking, bring out Alexander." James got straight to the point. "Tell him James is here to challenge him."
Daniel chimed in, "Exactly, Bright Heart Hall Clinic has sabotaged JZL Medical Hall multiple times. We're here to settle the score today."
"Challenge?" The middle-aged doctor pushed James' shoulder. "What makes a young man like you think you can compete with Bright Heart Hall Clinic?"
James brushed off his hand and sneered, "And what makes a premature ejaculator like you think you can say that?"
"What premature ejaculator?" The middle-aged doctor's expression shifted dramatically, and he stuttered, "Don't speak nonsense and defame me, or I will take legal action against you for slander."
Though he tried to act tough, it was clear to everyone that the middle-aged doctor was flustered, obviously hit where it hurt.
"You know very well if you're a premature ejaculator."
"I also know you've taken a lot of supplements, but they haven't worked."
"Recently, you've had a poor appetite, bloating, nausea, vomiting, aversion to greasy food, and fatigue. Do you know why? You have hepatitis B."
James' blunt words left the middle-aged doctor dumbfounded and scared his patients, as hepatitis B is contagious.
The middle-aged doctor broke into a cold sweat. "You..."
James cut him off. "If you keep talking, I'll spread the word. Once patients know you have hepatitis B, no one will come to you for treatment."
"Bastard, threatening my senior like that, you have no shame." A young doctor was furious and questioned, "Do you have any medical ethics?"
"Medical ethics?" James looked at the young doctor and sneered, "You dare talk to me about medical ethics?"
"The coughing patient in front of you could be easily treated, but you prescribed unnecessary supplements."
James didn't hold back as he continued, "A $4.67 issue, and you caused her to spend $467. And you lecture me about medical ethics?"
The coughing woman was incredulous, asking, "Doctor, is he telling the truth?"
The young doctor's face turned pale. "He's talking nonsense, pretending to know what he's talking about."
James pressed on, "If you don't want to take medicine, acupuncture can solve it, and one session is enough."
James gave a knowing smile and had Daniel bring over the acupuncture needles. He quickly inserted nine needles into the patient and then removed them shortly after.
The woman initially mumbled that she didn't feel anything, but then she jumped up in delight.
"Oh my, I'm really not coughing anymore, and my throat isn't itchy."
"This is amazing, truly amazing."
She gave James a thumbs up. "Young doctor, you're the real expert."
Though the cough wasn't a serious illness, it had been tormenting her, making her throat itch and causing constant coughing, which was very uncomfortable.
Now, everything was better, and she felt the world was bright again.
"Young doctor, here's your fee. Compared to $467, this is nothing."
The woman took out $46.7 and gave it to James, then tore up the prescription from Bright Heart Hall Clinic with a snap.
The young doctor's face burned with shame.
"If you keep causing trouble, I'll call the police." Seeing all the patients crowd around James, the pretty female doctor couldn't hold back her anger. "Get out of here now."
"Such a bad temper." James looked at the female doctor and smiled. "If I'm not mistaken, you've been feeling anxious and irritable lately, with a poor appetite, and often find yourself daydreaming."
"At night, you wake up suddenly, feeling empty and lonely."
He continued, "And when it rains, you feel weak all over, with cold hands and feet, right?"
"How do you know?" The pretty doctor was startled. She had been experiencing these symptoms for a while but hadn't mentioned them to anyone, thinking it wasn't a big deal.
She didn't expect James to pinpoint it so accurately.
Then she scoffed, "Many young people feel this way, it's just work stress."
"You're wrong, it's not work stress." James smiled faintly. "You have a hormonal imbalance. Your prescription is: find a boyfriend as soon as possible."
"Otherwise, you'll become more irritable and mean to your patients."
"And don't deny it. The mark from a removed ring on your ring finger and the hole in your stockings show you haven't been with a man for a long time."
The crowd laughed, and several patients nodded in agreement. James' diagnosis was spot on; the pretty doctor was indeed very fierce.
The pretty doctor was both embarrassed and angry. "You bastard."
"Alexander, get out here." James ignored her and stood in the middle of the clinic, shouting, "Today, either JZL Medical Hall stays, or Bright Heart Hall Clinic does."
"James, if you want to die, I'll grant your wish." At that moment, a sinister laugh came from inside, and James saw a short, fat old man with a ruddy face and fierce eyes appear.
It was Alexander, whom he had seen in Gabriella's ward.
