Chapter 448 Release Her
When James showed up at the river, he immediately spotted Aurelia's yacht stuck in the water.
The river was wide, but there was no way out for Aurelia.
Three hundred boats had blocked the entire river, forcing Aurelia into a narrow stretch of water.
Then, dozens of Bennett's elite boarded the yacht, killing several Sky Wolf members before surrounding Aurelia and her three companions on the deck.
It was a dead end.
Given everything Aurelia had done to James, Clarence believed James would prefer to deal with her personally.
"James, Aurelia and her crew tried to escape, but we intercepted them," Clarence reported as soon as James boarded his large vessel.
"They killed seven or eight of my men, and we took out a few of her close associates."
"She only has three people left with her now, and we've checked the yacht—no explosives."
He asked, "How do you want to handle them? Should we fire all at once?"
With so many people and boats, a single harpoon from each would be enough to ensure Aurelia's demise.
"No need, let me talk to her first."
After all the scheming Aurelia had done against him, James wanted to see her one last time, as a sort of final memory.
Before James could call out, Aurelia's voice rang out, "James, I need to talk to you."
She stood tall on the deck, her hair up, dressed in black. Despite her desperate situation, she maintained her charm and arrogance.
James boarded the yacht, pushed through the crowd, and smiled at Aurelia. "Ms. Kingsley, do we really have anything left to discuss?"
"James, name your price." Aurelia ignored the harpoons around her, stepping closer to James. "Name the price for letting me leave here alive."
"Wolf Club is destroyed, Micah will pay the price, and now you're all alone with nothing left." James's eyes gleamed. "Do you even have a price worth your life?"
Aurelia's eyes filled with pain at James's words. Years of hard work had been ruined by this man.
She wanted to strangle James, but she knew she couldn't kill him. Her own life was in his hands.
No matter what, she had to survive and get to Lumaria.
She brushed her hair aside and said, "That's not your concern. Just name your terms."
"I know I've attacked you many times and nearly killed you. You must hate me."
"But killing me will only give you a moment of satisfaction. It won't make up for the past or bring you any benefits."
"You'd be better off giving me a chance to live in exchange for something valuable."
Aurelia tried to persuade him, even subtly lifting her skirt to draw attention to her legs.
James responded bluntly, "Sorry, I don't need any benefits. I just want to see you dead."
"James, be mature, will you?" Aurelia's face darkened. "My death means nothing to you."
"It means something to me." James pressed. "If I don't kill you, who knows if you'll come after me again?"
"My villa, my cars, and all Wolf Club's assets—I give them all to you." Aurelia then handed James a bank card. "There's three billion dollars on it. Take it all."
"Whether you give them to me or not, you can't take them with you." James toyed with the card. "So it means nothing."
No amount of money or benefits could save Aurelia after she kidnapped Kaitlyn.
"James, you're stubborn and ungrateful." Aurelia snapped.
"Yeah, you got the upper hand now, and you can kill me, but you can't handle the fallout."
"You know my background." She was sure James knew about her connections.
James slowly approached. "I don't."
"Don't play dumb."
Aurelia revealed her trump card. "I'm tight with Blood Medical Sect, and I'm Mr. Banks's goddaughter."
"If you kill me, Blood Medical Sect will come after you, and my godfather will seek revenge at any cost."
She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
"Marshall? Who's that? Is he powerful?" James was indifferent. "Didn't I already kill a young Mr. Banks? I don't mind killing an old one."
"How dare you insult my godfather!" Aurelia shouted angrily. "Remember, there's always someone stronger."
James didn't waste words and slapped Aurelia across the face.
With a loud smack, Aurelia screamed and fell, blood trickling from her mouth.
"You dare hit me?" Aurelia was shocked and furious. "Aren't you afraid of the consequences?"
"Are you out of your mind?" James sneered. "You're on the brink of death and still shouting? What's so special about you? You've tried to kill me multiple times, and you think I shoule let you live?"
James showed no mercy, stepping on Aurelia as she tried to get up.
Aurelia was enraged. "I have Blood Medical Sect and Dane Banks backing me. Aren't you afraid they'll come after you?"
Hearing Dane's name, James was unfazed, but Clarence's eyelid twitched.
Dane was of royal blood, one of Lumaria's top ten sword masters, highly skilled and respected, with disciples worldwide, ten of whom had reached intermediate level.
Most people wouldn't dare provoke him, or they'd face deadly consequences.
Clarence was surprised Aurelia had ties to Dane.
"Afraid? I'm afraid they won't come after me!" James extended his right hand. "I'll kill anyone who comes, even your godfather."
He took a knife from Clarence.
"You shouldn't have touched Kaitlyn. Any last words?"
At that moment, James's killing intent was so strong that even Clarence felt a chill.
Aurelia's ears twitched, then she removed her earpiece and put her phone on speaker, "My godfather wants to talk to you."
She could see James's intent to kill and quickly played her last card.
James looked at her phone, and a raspy voice came through, "Listen up, kid!"
"I'm Dane Banks. Aurelia is my goddaughter, and I'm very pleased with her."
"If you dare harm her, I won't let you off. Be smart and let her go, then apologize."
His voice turned cold. "Or else, I'll hunt you down no matter where you are!"
"Dane?" James was indifferent. "Who cares?"
"You insolent brat! I'm one of Lumaria's top ten sword masters. Are you tired of living?"
Dane's voice was filled with menace. "Stop talking nonsense and release Aurelia immediately."
"If you harm her, I'll come to Celestia and cut off your head!"
"Do you understand?"
He arrogantly scolded James, thinking his name would make James beg for mercy.
But James simply smiled.
"I'll be waiting at Glowing Oasis."
In the next second, he swung the knife down.
Aurelia screamed, her head separated from her body!
She died with her eyes wide open.
"Bastard!" Dane roared. "You've gone too far!"
"James, within a week, I'll take your life!"
