Chapter 159 I'll Take Care of You from Now On

When Mary was crying her heart out, James was sitting alone at the Whispering Willow Retreat, drinking.

He had divorced Mary, finally gaining his freedom, no longer having to endure the disdain and contempt of the Smith Family, but it also meant the end of his hopes.

At the age of six, starving and freezing, he was saved by Mary, and he swore to repay her if he survived.

Later, by a twist of fate, he married Mary. James didn't see it as a bad thing; he considered it a blessing from above.

How fortunate to marry the goddess of his childhood dreams!

James entered the Smith Family with gratitude and love, willingly working hard to become a part of the family, hoping that sincerity would eventually bring them together.

Who knew that after a year, they would part ways unhappily? James couldn't have imagined this outcome.

The cold stares and the signed agreement made James laugh at himself. Then, he downed a few more glasses of red wine.

He ordered a dozen bottles of red wine, six to mourn the past, six to toast the future.

James hoped that when he woke up tomorrow, he would forget Mary and start a new life.

Not far away, Jonathan and Stephen were smoking and watching James, shaking their heads.

They didn't know what had happened to James, but they could see he was troubled and knew they couldn't advise him, so they eventually made a call.

In less than half an hour, five or six cars arrived outside the Whispering Willow Retreat. A Ferrari in the middle opened and out stepped a charming woman in red.

Her curvaceous figure and stunning face instantly attracted many eyes.

The woman in red threw her sunglasses into the car, then walked briskly into the restaurant, coldly scanning the room before heading straight to James by the window.

Seeing James, her eyes softened, and she quickly stood in front of him, bringing a fragrant breeze with her.

"Good wine needs a beautiful woman." The woman in red gave a lazy, sexy smile. "Otherwise, it's too boring."

Hearing this voice, James couldn't help but feel a stir in his heart.

A subtle fragrance wafted to his nose, and when he looked up, he saw a face that could captivate any man.

Olivia.

James was about to pick up the last bottle of red wine when Olivia's slender hand pressed down, then she took the bottle and drank.

The 20-ounce bottle of red wine was quickly emptied as Olivia's throat moved.

Olivia was direct. "Divorced?"

"How did you know?" James was stunned, then smiled. "Is it that obvious on my face?"

"Not really, but your divorce agreement is sticking out of your pocket."

Olivia picked up the divorce agreement but didn't open it. She folded it and put it back in James' pocket.

"What? Can't let go?" Olivia asked.

James shook his head lightly. "No."

Olivia's smile was playful.

"Then why drown your sorrows in alcohol? You should be happy to be free. Didn't you always want a divorce?"

She understood James internally; some things aren't easy to let go of.

James leaned back in his chair and smiled.

"No one to support me anymore, no more pocket money. How can I be happy?"

"I'll support you." Olivia was as domineering as ever. "Come to Terry Ward and be the son-in-law."

Hearing these words, James gave a bitter smile.

"If you don't answer, I'll take it as your consent."

Olivia threw the bottle on the table, grabbed James' hand, and smiled gently.

"Remember, from now on, you're mine."

James staggered slightly, then looked at Olivia. "I'm fine."

"Of course, I know you're fine."

Olivia's smile was as bright as a flower. She raised her arm and wrapped it around James.

"I'm just taking you to a better place to drink."

James hesitated for a moment, then followed Olivia.

Along the way, many diners who knew Olivia looked curiously, and several business tycoons inquired.

"Ms. Lee, who is this? Your brother?"

Hearing the teasing, Olivia wasn't angry and still smiled lightly.

"My man, James. Please take care of him in the future."

"Tell me, are you my man?"

Olivia's red lips gently touched James' earlobe, her voice as enchanting as ever.

Everyone was shocked. They had never heard Olivia mention a man before and thought she was joking, but their intimacy suggested otherwise.

James wanted to explain but didn't know how, so he let Olivia introduce him with a charming smile, and then she pushed him into the Ferrari.

In the jostling, Olivia accidentally bumped her head against the car window, causing an instant swelling on her forehead.

She didn't mind, rubbed it, and then got into the driver's seat.

"Don't move!"

James instinctively grabbed Olivia's wrist, his eyes fixed on the injury on her forehead.

His heart softened inexplicably, and he pulled Olivia into his arms, lowering his head to kiss the bruise.

Olivia's body stiffened, wanting to struggle, but James held her tightly and firmly.

The strong smell of alcohol and James' masculine scent made her dizzy.

In her daze, James kissed her forehead, and the pain quickly subsided.

Olivia felt conflicted, enjoying the thrill of James' embrace yet hoping it would end soon.

In public, she didn't mind being watched, but she had to consider James' reputation.

After all, James was the top expert in Rosewood City.

She didn't want to tarnish James' reputation because of her.

"James."

As her thoughts raced, Olivia quickly realized something was wrong. James' grip was getting stronger, and their bodies were getting closer.

They were in full contact, her chest pressed against James' body through thin clothes, making her feel suffocated.

As she opened her mouth to breathe, James lowered his head, pressing his lips against hers with overwhelming force.

A wild kiss.

Olivia's mind went blank, her body stiff and unresponsive.

This was her first kiss. Apart from her adopted daughter Sophia, no one had taken advantage of her.

The kiss ended as abruptly as it began. Just as Olivia worried James might do something more excessive, he suddenly let her go.

Then, he sat back in his seat, tilted his head, closed his eyes, and fell asleep with a light snore.

Olivia's face alternated between red and white, her hand on her chest, breathing heavily.

"You little rascal!"

It took Olivia a full three minutes to calm down. She muttered a complaint, then stepped on the gas and drove away.

Thirty minutes later, the Ferrari entered a riverside residential area. As it was about to go in, Olivia reversed a few dozen feet.

The car stopped in front of a convenience store. Olivia opened the door and went out, then rushed into the store with her head down.

Her face was flushed as she threw out $15, grabbed something, and fled the store before the cashier could react.

The cashier was stunned and instinctively chased after her, but saw Olivia get into the Ferrari and drive away.

She could only mutter as she returned to the register, picking up the $15 and checking the inventory.

Soon, the cashier realized that a box of Durex was missing.
