Chapter 495 Leaving Triumphantly

More than a dozen people entered the room with an imposing presence. Ron's voice was neither loud nor soft, yet it made Zane and his people visibly tense.

Katya covered her mouth, nearly gasping aloud. She never imagined James had connections to the Harvey family. Mary was equally surprised, not expecting the Harvey family's intervention.

Ron approached James and bowed respectfully. "Mr. Williams, I apologize for arriving late!"

James smiled faintly, "Ron, your timing is perfect. After all, Mr. Lowe's show has only just begun." As he spoke, he maintained his grip on Zane.

"I wondered who was bold enough to support Ms. Smith," Zane said, initially surprised before smiling coolly. "No wonder you're so confident, daring to take even me hostage."

Zane calculated his position. If James were merely from the Harvey family, he would show some caution.

But as their honored guest, there was room for negotiation—it all depended on how far the Harvey family would go for him.

Clio and the others stepped back to ease the tension, though their eyes remained fixed on James and Mary.

"Enough talk. Release Christopher and bring him here now," James said coldly. "Don't think about hurting him. Whatever harm comes to him, you'll suffer the same."

Zane's expression hardened. "James, considering you're the Harvey family's guest, I won't make trouble for you and Ms. Smith tonight. But releasing Christopher is impossible."

His voice turned menacing. "Just remember—if I die, you won't leave this place alive. No one can protect you."

"Honestly, your people are too weak to stop me," James replied with a dismissive smile.

Clio fumed, "Bastard! If you've got the guts, fight me one-on-one. I'll kill you!" She was furious, believing she could easily crush James, yet restrained because he held Zane hostage.

"Don't worry, you'll get your chance," James replied, eyeing her coolly.

"Overconfident fool," Zane scoffed, not believing James was a match for Clio. He turned to Ron and spoke loudly, "Ron, it's not that I don't respect you. But Christopher came after me with a crossbow and gasoline. If I don't punish him properly, how can I maintain my authority?"

He swept his gaze over Mary. "So decide—die here with me or leave."

Before James could respond, Ron stepped forward.

"Mr. Lowe, that's unreasonable," he said firmly. "The madam and I know exactly what happened. Christopher sought revenge only because you ordered someone to run him down and nearly killed his wife."

Ron's voice hardened. "Don't bother denying it. The madam has already found and detained the driver, ready to hand him over to the police at any moment. The madam instructed me to inform you that James, Ms. Smith, and Christopher all must remain unharmed."

He fixed Zane with a penetrating stare. "Now tell me, will you release him or not?"

Though Ron was just an ordinary elderly man without even a walking stick, the pressure radiating from him made Zane and his people feel like they had daggers at their backs.

Zane's eyelid twitched. He never expected the Harvey family to value James so highly that Acacia would track down the driver and risk offending him. No one had ever pressured him like this before.

"Is this your position, or the madam's?" he asked, trying to maintain composure.

Ron replied unhurriedly, "Do you think I would dare misrepresent the madam's wishes?"

"Do you think you have any choice right now?" Mary added sharply.

James remained still, letting Ron handle the situation and avoid unnecessary bloodshed.

"Release him," Ron said flatly. "Or would you prefer the madam call you directly?"

That simple sentence made Zane's breathing grow heavy. Cold sweat broke out on his back as he touched the blood on his neck.

He looked at Mary with extreme reluctance before finally nodding. "Release him and Bring him here."

The tattooed youth's gaze was fierce, but he ultimately took out his phone and made the call.

Twenty minutes later, several uniformed security guards appeared, throwing Christopher, wrapped in a coat, onto the floor. Clio grabbed him roughly.

"Christopher! Christopher!" Mary cried out.

Christopher trembled slightly, opened his eyes, and managed a weak smile. "I'm... I'm okay."

"Let Mr. Lowe go now!" Clio shouted at James.

Ron smiled at James. "Mr. Williams, it's better to resolve conflicts than prolong them. Please release Mr. Lowe."

"Get lost!" James shoved Zane back to the floor, then broke the fruit knife and tossed it aside. "Release him."

Clio immediately slapped Christopher four times. "Tonight we're letting you go for the Harvey family's sake, but next time I'll kill you all."

Zane didn't stop her. He couldn't kill James and the others, but that didn't mean they couldn't be beaten.

Seeing Christopher's face covered in blood, James spoke coldly, "Try touching him again."

Before Ron could speak, Clio delivered two more slaps, knocking out Christopher's teeth. Her smile grew more mocking, "What can you possibly do about it..."

Before she finished speaking, James's figure blurred into motion, instantly appearing before her.

Clio froze momentarily, then tried to swing her blade, but felt a sharp pain in her wrist as James seized her weapon.

Everyone was shocked. They hadn't expected James to be so formidable, disarming Zane's most capable lieutenant in an instant.

Clio raised her knee to strike, but James stepped on her leg, forcing it down.

In the next second, he threw a powerful punch directly into her Energy Core, instantly draining all strength from her body.

With a vicious smile, James grabbed Clio by the throat, yanked her toward him, and smashed her head against the table edge.

Clio's head collided with the corner with a dull thud. Blood gushed from the wound, rendering her incapable of fighting.

James swung his arm backward, knocking down more than a dozen people behind him.

"Let's go!" He led Mary and Christopher away with long strides, leaving Zane and his people in stunned silence.
