Chapter 90 Arrogant Claire

One hundred percent chance of success.

Claire boasted arrogantly.

James was taken aback at first, then kindly advised."Carl and Bella are very cunning."

"Cunning?" Upon hearing this, Claire and her two female companions burst into laughter, their eyes filled with disdain and contempt.

"It sounds like you're underestimating us," they countered.

Claire said, "We've taken down more foes than you could conceive. If it weren't for my concerns about Raymond and Taylor's safety, I would have taken them out with a single slap each."

It was clear that they didn't regard Carl and Bella as serious threats, perceiving them as mere bullies to bodyguards.

James patiently advised. "I know you are formidable, but Carl..."

"Stop talking. You are just a small doctor. Don't get involved. You can't imagine how powerful we are." Claire snorted with an air of importance. "James, just stay put and watch how I take them down."

Claire said, "Piper, Ariana, protect Mr. Clark and Miss. Clark. I'm going in."

She had been famous for many years, won numerous awards, and even taught Taylor how to throw knives, which earned her the right to be Taylor's honored guest.

James, a mere doctor, being on equal footing with her made Claire very displeased.

"I'll show these scoundrels what I'm capable of," she declared.

Her two companions echoed in unison. "Understood."

"Miss Moore, don't be careless. Carl is holding back his true abilities. To take him down, it would be best if all three of you attacked together," James advised again. "It's too dangerous for you to rush in alone."

"Shut up!" Claire barked at Jame., "I can handle it."

With that, she brandished a knife and leaped toward Carl, swift as a cheetah.

A battle quickly ensued ahead.

The hall was dimly lit, and with two women in green blocking the view, James couldn't see the fierce fight clearly.

But he could see the flicker of blades, the smoke of bullets, and hear the piercing sounds of combat and the harrowing screams.

What kept everyone on high alert were Claire's intermittent shouts.

Each shout was full of vigor, echoing through the entire hall, showcasing Claire's profound skills.

"James, don't worry. Claire is very powerful. Just wait for her triumphant return," Taylor said with a smile, admiring Claire. "The enemies will be eliminated soon."

The two women in green also held their heads high, exuding an air of inevitable victory.

Raymond remained silent.

James also stayed quiet, just trying to peer ahead.

At that moment, the sound of a large knife striking continuously rang out, clashing eighteen times without pause.

Suddenly, Claire's vigorous sounds ceased.

Then, a loud bang shook the entire hall.

James could tell it was the final move of a continuous knife strike, a powerful blow.

A scream echoed.

Taylor and the others looked up.

A blood-soaked figure dashed out from the front, fleeing to James's side in a chaotic state.

Covered in blood, hair disarrayed, missing a left arm, her face was filled with terror, an utter mess.

It was the once arrogant Claire.

Taylor and the others' smiles froze instantly.

Claire had charged in with great momentum but returned like a defeated dog.

Her wretched state left Taylor and the others stunned.

No one had expected this outcome for Claire.

In the minds of Taylor and his team, Claire was supposed to vanquish Bella and her crew single-handedly, her green attire remaining untouched by blood.

Yet, she had returned in a state of complete defeat.

Claire, who had fled back, was gasping for air, and the confident demeanor she once had was nowhere to be seen.

Of course, she made no mention of her previous assertion, 'I'm 100% sure.' That statement was now conspicuously absent.

"Hurry, James, quickly treat Claire," Taylor shouted to James, "Stop the bleeding."

James moved over.

Claire struggled to speak, "It can't be stopped, it can't be stopped, this is a severed arm. Ariana, use our trauma medicine."

Clearly, she still looked down on James.

Ariana hurriedly took out the trauma medicine and poured it on the wounded arm.

With a splash, the powder was washed away by the blood, having no effect at all.

James took out a silver needle and said, "Let me do it."

Claire shook her head vehemently. "You can't."

Seeing her in such a state, James didn't bother to argue. He inserted a few silver needles, stopping the blood from the wound.

Then, he tore off a piece of cloth to bandage Claire.

Claire and the others were taken aback when they saw the wound stop bleeding and the pain significantly reduced. They didn't expect James to have such remarkable medical skills.

However, the proud Claire still refused to apologize or express gratitude.

"Claire, how did you get hurt?" Taylor still couldn't accept her idol's failure. "Were you ambushed?"

"It was all his fault!" Claire suddenly sat up, pointing at James and shouting incessantly, "He spouted nonsense and harmed me, harmed everyone. If it weren't for him shaking my confidence, I wouldn't have been so hesitant. If I hadn't been hesitant, Carl wouldn't have had a chance to win even half a move. It's all this bastard's fault, making me suffer such a huge loss. I will remember this."

James thought to himself, 'How did my well-intentioned reminder turn into idle nonsense? How did it become a cause of shaking her confidence?' James was dumbfounded. She was good at twisting the truth.

"Miss Moore, although you are a master of the Mystic Alliance, you should still be reasonable," James retorted unceremoniously. "I only hoped you would be careful. I never said you were inferior. Moreover, I reminded you all that it would be best if the three of you went together to suppress Carl. But you didn't listen and acted on your own. Now that things have turned out this way, you should be reflecting on it instead of blaming me for speaking nonsense. It's utterly ridiculous."

He regretted stopping the bleeding for this woman.

Claire was so angry she almost spat blood. "You."

"James, how can you talk like that? Arguing with a woman, are you even a man? Don't you have any sense of manliness?" Piper and Ariana scolded James with stern faces. "Look how miserable she is. You shouldn't provoke her."

"And is it really not your fault?"

"You should have been more firm in your stance."

"If you had insisted that Carl was formidable, we might have been swayed by you."

"Even if we weren't swayed, we would have been more cautious."

"Or, if you had held onto her leg and stopped her when Claire was about to charge, the situation wouldn't be like this now."

"But you didn't insist, nor did you forcibly stop her, indirectly causing Claire's severe injury."

"In any case, you can't shirk responsibility for this."

Claire quickly chimed in, "Yes, yes, if you had held onto my leg tightly, I definitely wouldn't have charged."

James was stunned.

He had seen shameless people before, but never anyone this shameless.

James sighed. "How shameless."

Claire flew into a rage. "What did you say? Are you calling me shameless?"

"Stop arguing!" Taylor looked ahead. "Carl and Bella are coming."

They were here.
