Chapter108Remarriage
<Chapter>Chapter108Remarriage</Chapter>
Matthew held the reissued Marriage Certificate Booklet tightly, feeling a sense of relief as if things were finally falling back into place.
He took the other copy from Madison's hands, snapped a picture, and then slipped it into his pocket, murmuring, "I'll keep them both."
"What if we get a divorce again?" Madison asked half-jokingly.
"Don't even think about it," Matthew growled playfully, then assertively took her hand as they got into the car.
Matthew drove while chatting with Madison about their plans. They had just gotten their marriage license and were excited to share the news with Grandpa at The Old Residence. After dropping Madison off at the studio, Matthew headed back to his office.
As soon as he settled into his office chair, Matthew eagerly pulled out his phone and shared a snapshot of their newly acquired marriage license with his closest friends in the group chat. The responses came flooding in without delay.
Victor silently sent a thumbs-up emoji.
Mitchell texted, "Matthew, you legend!"
Liam added, "Looks like my advice came in handy, huh?"
Patrick was incredulous, "When did this happen!!!"
In a rare good mood, Matthew replied with a simple, "Today," before putting the group chat aside and diving into his work.
Patrick, always curious, bombarded the chat with questions, eager for details, but got no response. He even tried calling Matthew directly, but Matthew was too busy to pick up.
Matthew was more focused on finishing his work before breakfast, picking up his wife and child, and heading back to The Old Residence for a family feast. He didn't have time for idle banter with Liam.
The silence of the empty house hit him hard last night. Unable to sleep, he left for The New Garden District at dawn, resolving never to spend another night alone in the villa.
Knowing Madison had agreed to remarry him, the fear of living alone struck Matthew. The absence of family chatter made everything seem lifeless, and he couldn't help feeling a touch of jealousy toward Quentin and Hannah, who used to sleep with Madison every night.

As Madison stepped into the studio, she bumped into Rachel heading out. A genuine smile played on Madison's lips, a change Rachel couldn't help but notice.
"Madison, with that glow, I have to wonder if last night you and Matthew..." Rachel's voice trailed off teasingly as Madison lightly patted her shoulder, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement.
"Um... Well, it's just that..." Madison hesitated, searching for the words.
"Spit it out, Madison. You're killing me here!" Rachel implored with an impatient grin.
"We got back together," Madison finally revealed.
After Madison finished speaking, Rachel didn't react with the shock Madison had expected. With a voice that seemed beyond her years, she said, "Oh, I thought it was something big. Isn't that bound to happen sooner or later?"
"Why do you say that? I'm actually pretty conflicted," Madison confessed, revealing her true hesitation.
"With Matthew being the way he is, could you ever escape his grasp? It was just a matter of time before he'd sweep you off your feet, and you'd remarry. I saw it coming."
Rachel thought that with Matthew's charm and wealth, he'd quickly make a move if he wanted to. Knowing Madison still had feelings for him, Rachel wasn't surprised by their remarriage.
"That's great. Matthew seems genuinely committed, and the thought of you four being together and happy is wonderful," she beamed.
Suddenly, a question popped into her mind.
"Madison, where are you planning to live now? Are you moving back to the villa or settling in New River Gardens?"
"We haven't discussed it yet. New River Gardens might be more convenient, but I'll talk it over with Matthew."
Worried that Rachel might be concerned about her living arrangement, Madison quickly added, "Rachel, I've kept your room just for you, so don't feel awkward about it, okay?"
"Ha, I've got thick skin. I'll mainly stay at my apartment since the lease isn't up yet. Plus, you two need some alone time occasionally, right? I can always take care of Quentin and Hannah. Though I wonder if Matthew would mind staying in a smaller place."
Madison didn't think Matthew would mind at all; he had always seemed perfectly at ease and familiar with New River Gardens without a hint of discomfort.

JK Group.
Matthew's departure from his office at 3:30 PM coincided with Brian's arrival to deliver some documents.
"Heading out, Matthew?" Brian asked, puzzled. He didn't recall seeing an outside appointment on Matthew's calendar for the day.
"Ah, I had to pick up the kids after work," he said, glancing at the stack of documents Brian was carrying. "From now on, documents that have been approved online go straight to Jonah. No need to bring them up here."
Without another word, he turned and left.
At that moment, sitting in his office, Mitchell sneezed and thought to himself, "What's going on?!"
Brian watched his boss hurry off, standing alone in the empty hallway with a folder full of papers.
The transformation of the boss into a superdad was remarkable. If the folks at the mall ever caught wind that the CEO of JK Group routinely left work early or arrived late just to pick up his kids, they'd be amused.
Brian decided to head back to his office when Ariel came out to get some water and saw the troubled look on his face. She asked proactively, "What's wrong? You look all worried. Did the boss give you a hard time?"
Brian shook his head, "The boss left already."
"Again? Lately, he's always in late and out early. It's not like him, and we're still adjusting to it."
"He went to pick up his kids. Do you think the boss isn't taking his work seriously enough?" Brian couldn't help feeling that the boss really wasn't focused on his business.
"The boss is successful now; shouldn't he rush home to enjoy the warm domestic bliss with his wife and kids? Besides, it's easier for you when he's not here, isn't it? Why the long face?"
Ariel, who held traditional values close, noticed a significant change in the boss. He appeared much warmer and more approachable now compared to his previously icy demeanor.
"The problem is, with the boss away, there's even more work to do." Brian found himself reminiscing about the days when the boss was a workaholic, longing for the times when things seemed more manageable with the boss directly involved.
Ariel's team in the CEO's office found themselves with almost nothing to do once Matthew left.
"Assistant, we feel for you."
Brian sighed heavily, resigned to his fate, and proceeded to deliver the documents to Mitchell's office.
