Chapter 524 Fired in Public

Mitchell kept confirming that Willow was really okay, that she wasn't burned by the coffee, it hadn't affected her pregnancy, and her hands and legs were fine. Only then did he sigh in relief.

God knew how worried he was when he thought the person who got splashed with coffee might be Willow.

Finally, confirming that she was really here and had indeed been splashed with coffee by an intern, Mitchell felt both anxious and scared.

He even kept blaming himself in his heart, 'If only I had come a bit earlier, she wouldn't have gotten hurt. Why didn't I take the time to come to the café with her when she had clearly told me she wanted to come for some cake?'

Now that he was sure she was okay, he still felt a lingering fear, unable to imagine what would have happened if the coffee had been scalding hot and spilled on her.

Seeing his gloomy face, clearly upset, Willow gently rubbed his hand and whispered in his ear like a spoiled child, "Honey."

Mitchell's eyes instantly reddened.

Thankfully, his wife was okay.

Mitchell turned his head to look at where Savannah was standing, his gaze turning fierce. He first settled Willow on the sofa, then called his secretary's office upstairs, asking Amy to send someone down to take Willow up and to buy a clean set of clothes for her. After arranging everything, he turned and strode back to the spot where the incident happened.

Everyone was still standing there, waiting. No one from the project meeting dared to leave first, while others were gossiping, waiting to see how things would be handled.

Mitchell walked up to Savannah and, without any unnecessary words, said directly, "From this moment on, you're fired."

Then, he turned to the crowd and asked, "Is there anyone from Human Resources here?"

A young man nervously raised his hand. He responded ,"Mr. Jonah, I'm from Human Resources."

Mitchell commanded, "Alright, tell your director to process her termination immediately and report back to my office once it's done."

He immediately complied, "Yes, Mr. Jonah." The young man quickly contacted their director to inform them of the situation.

When Mitchell was about to leave, Savannah finally reacted. She hurriedly grabbed Mitchell's sleeve, saying, "Mr. Jonah, there must be some mistake! I'm the victim here. My left cheek is swollen from being slapped, everyone saw it. Why am I the one being fired? It should be Elizabeth who gets fired!"

Mitchell glanced at his sleeve being held, his gaze sharp.

Savannah was frightened, she quickly let go and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Jonah. I hope you handle this fairly. Just because Elizabeth is a senior employee doesn't mean..."

Her words insinuated of Mitchell's unfairness, suggesting that she was being unjustly fired despite being the one who got slapped.

Savannah had worked hard to get this internship and wasn't about to give it up easily.

"It's not your place to tell me how to do my job," Mitchell said bluntly, "If you want to handle this officially, then call the police. I will pursue legal action against you for intentionally spilling coffee on my wife and charge you with intentional harm. The café has surveillance cameras, and the footage will be provided to the police."

Then, he turned to the crowd and said, "Disperse, go prepare, and we'll resume the meeting in twenty minutes." With that, he was ready to head back to his office, seeing that Amy had already taken Willow upstairs. He didn't want to waste any more time here.

When Savannah heard Mitchell mention his wife, she was completely stunned, standing there in a daze, muttering, "Wife? Mr. Jonah's wife? Not a business partner? How could she be Mr. Jonah's wife?"

She seemed almost possessed, retreating several steps before steadying herself. Savannah said while in denial, "Impossible, it can't be Mr. Jonah's wife. I don't believe it."

The project manager glanced at her, sighed, and shook his head.

Then, he followed Mitchell out of the café. He had initially thought highly of Savannah, a returnee from a prestigious foreign university with solid professional knowledge, and had planned to groom her. But hearing about her questionable behavior that morning and now this incident in the afternoon, he knew he couldn't keep her.

Elizabeth gave Savannah a deep glare before preparing to leave.

However, Savannah, seemingly going mad, suddenly blocked Elizabeth and said viciously, "You did this on purpose, didn't you? You always knew she was Mr. Jonah's wife, so you made me think she was a business partner, made me spill coffee on her to anger Mr. Jonah and get me fired. This was your plan all along, wasn't it?"

She was hysterical and without any semblance of her usual professional demeanor, screaming.

Elizabeth shook off her arm. She retorted, "If you're sick, go see a doctor. Your delusions and paranoia are beyond severe. I don't have the time or schemes to play these games. It's not up to me to decide your fate, so stop yelling at me."

Elizabeth lectured, "Can you honestly say you didn't have any dirty thoughts about Mr. Jonah? Don't project your filthy mind onto others. Look in the mirror; you're not even a fraction of Mr. Jonah's wife. Did you really think you could mess around with Mr. Jonah?"

She was full of fighting spirit, didn't even pause for breath, forcing Savannah to retreat repeatedly.

After delivering her tirade, she turned and left gracefully.

Savannah, standing there watching Elizabeth's departing figure, screamed in anger, losing all her usual professional composure. She yelled angrily, "Elizabeth, stop right there, you bastard, I'll kill you."

Elizabeth heard the cursing behind her but didn't stop, ignoring Savannah completely. She walked away with a slight smile, clearly in a good mood.

Jenny, who was with Savannah, still had some sense of loyalty. She quickly grabbed the out-of-control Savannah. She advised, "Savannah, calm down. Stop fighting with Elizabeth. Think of a way to beg Mr. Jonah or his wife. Do you really want to be fired and go to jail?"

Hearing Jenny's words, Savannah slowly calmed down. She replied helplessly, "Of course, I don't want to go to jail or be fired. If I get fired and go to jail, my life is over. But what can I do?"

She was at a loss, starting to panic at the thought of the surveillance footage Mitchell mentioned. She really didn't know that was Mitchell's wife. She didn't want to be fired, let alone go to jail.
