Chapter 429 Touring Rome
When Mitchell returned, the hallway night light was on.
As soon as he walked in, he heard Willow calling him. He took off his suit jacket and draped it over the back of a chair, then quickly walked to the bedside. With one knee on the bed, he leaned in and gently asked, "Did I wake you?"
She rubbed her eyes and smiled sleepily, shaking her head. "No."
She looked adorably groggy.
Mitchell reached out and patted her head, affectionately saying, "Good girl, go back to sleep. I'll take a shower, and tomorrow I'll take you out."
Willow nodded and responded, "Okay."
Perhaps knowing that he was back, she quickly fell back asleep after closing her eyes.
When Mitchell came out of the shower, he saw her sleeping quietly with even breaths. He leaned down and planted a goodnight kiss on her forehead before getting into bed himself.
The next morning, while they were having breakfast, Mitchell mentioned taking her out today. Willow was a bit surprised and asked, "Mitchell, don't you have to go to the office today?"
He looked up at her with a smile. "Didn't I tell you last night that I'd take you out today?"
"Oh, I thought I was dreaming." Willow said, her ears turning slightly red.
She remembered calling out to him when he came back last night, and he told her to go to sleep while he took a shower. She quickly fell asleep after closing her eyes.
"So, Mitchell, you don't have to go to the office today?" Willow suddenly became very excited, almost clapping her hands.
Mitchell nodded, smiling. "Yes, today I'm all yours."
To free up today, he had worked extra hard yesterday and even skipped meals. But seeing Willow so happy made it all worthwhile.
After having breakfast at the hotel, he took her on a tour of the ancient Maple City ruins, visiting every famous spot before returning to the hotel. It was a full day with no time wasted. By the time they got back to the hotel, she was so exhausted that she collapsed on the bed, not wanting to move at all.
Seeing how tired she was, Mitchell went to the office the next day, leaving her to rest at the hotel. This pattern continued as he taking her out every other day. Although it was exhausting for him, Willow thoroughly enjoyed the joy of traveling.
Traveling truly brought joy, especially when shared with a loved one, keeping their spirits high.
On their second outing, Mitchell took Willow to Country D, the smallest country in the world, covering only 0.44 square kilometers.
They walked from the Country D Museum to the cathedral and then visited two other famous spots.
Willow was thrilled at every location, constantly taking photos, buying various souvenirs, and pulling Mitchell into pictures at each site.
On their third outing, the two experienced a Maple City holiday, visiting several famous squares, including her long-awaited wishing fountain, and finally another square.
As they strolled along the steps of the square, they recalled scenes from the movie 'Maple City Holiday.'
Willow was extremely excited, pulling Mitchell into numerous photos.
Upon deciding to come to Maple City, she called Danielle to tell her. Although Danielle was incredibly envious, she was too busy to join. In the end, she regretfully said, "I won't disturb your sweet time with my brother. Just remember to bring me a gift."
So, over the past few days, Willow would go shopping for gifts whenever she had time, preparing something for everyone. Their luggage was already full, so Mitchell bought her two large suitcases in Maple City specifically to hold all the souvenirs she bought.
The next morning, Willow woke to find Mitchell absent.
They had spent the entire day out yesterday and were exhausted, so she went to bed early.
Mitchell's phone wasn't there, so he must have gone to the office.
Willow felt a bit sorry for him; he hadn't had a proper rest these past few days. She decided that for the remaining time, she would just wander around Maple City on her own. After all, they had been here for almost a week, and she was familiar with the place. She had bought everything she needed, so she wouldn't make him accompany her anymore.
She got up, took a shower, and changed into a black spaghetti strap dress with a matching short jacket.
Grabbing her phone and wallet, she headed out.
Since it was already late, she was a bit hungry.
For the past few days, they had been ordering room service, but today the weather was great, and with such beautiful scenery, having breakfast downstairs seemed like a good idea.
She didn't go far, just to the cafe on the first floor of the hotel.
She chose a seat by the window and ordered a cup of coffee and two cream buns.
The warm sunlight streaming in made her feel very comfortable.
Perhaps because of the time, the restaurant wasn't crowded, with only a few scattered diners.
She smiled slightly as she looked out the window.
From her vantage point, she could see the square they had visited yesterday. A couple of days ago, she and Mitchell had taken many photos on the steps there. The view from this angle was truly a visual delight.
As she was lost in the beautiful scenery outside, a rich male voice sounded in her ear. "Hi, beauty, are you alone?"
Willow was startled and turned her head to see a handsome, typical American guy with deep-set features. He was speaking English, so Willow understood him.
She politely smiled at the guy hitting on her, silently thinking that America was indeed famous for its handsome men.
Over the past few days, she had seen handsome guys everywhere. Danielle should have come. Although she still thought Mitchell was better looking, all these handsome faces were quite pleasing to the eye.
Before she could respond, the guy continued, "Do you mind if I join you?"
Willow glanced around the nearly empty restaurant, her mind racing with thoughts of news stories she had read about the mafia and human trafficking.
She felt a bit nervous but pretended to be calm and said in English, "Sorry, I'm waiting for my boyfriend. He'll be here soon."
The guy, hearing this, apologized politely and left.
Willow quickly finished her breakfast and returned to her room.
She had planned to go out for a walk, but now she decided against it. She would just stay in the room, watch some shows, and wait for Mitchell.
After all, over the past few days, he had taken her to all the places they wanted to visit.
