Chapter 399 Honeymoon
The day after their wedding, Madison and Matthew hurried off on their honeymoon, propelled by the insistence of Gerald, Nancy, and William, who had the plane tickets and the passports sent directly to the hotel. They also packed their luggage and arranged for a driver to take Madison and Matthew to the airport. Gerald and Nancy even called Madison to reassure her that they would take care of Quentin and Hannah since they would stay in Horizon City for a while.
"Madison, you and Matthew just go and have fun. We've got everything arranged for you. The tickets and hotel are all set, and we'll take care of the kids. Enjoy yourselves," Nancy said happily over the phone. She had done a lot of research for Madison and Matthew's honeymoon trip and felt a great sense of accomplishment.
Madison was at the airport when she received the call from her parents. She looked at Matthew with a mix of amusement and annoyance. Matthew was also on the phone with William, who assured Matthew that if Matthew were worried about the company, he would personally oversee it. Finally, the couple boarded the plane for their unplanned honeymoon, carrying the luggage handed to them by the driver.
The destination on the tickets was Lindell Harbor, a top choice for young couples on their honeymoon. It was known that newlyweds in Lindell Harbor could walk hand in hand, barefoot on the fine white sand, feel the warmth of Lindell Harbor, swim in the ocean, listen to the heartbeat of Lindell Harbor, forget all worldly troubles, and fully enjoy the sunshine, beach, love, and freedom.
This was exactly how Madison felt upon arriving at Lindell Harbor. The pearl-like sandy beaches, emerald green waters, bright sunshine, tranquil mood, and pristine paths were indescribably beautiful. Only by walking hand in hand with her beloved on those white paths could she truly feel the joy between the blue sea and sky.
Madison had never really thought about a honeymoon trip before. The wedding itself was already a huge surprise. Matthew had mentioned a honeymoon trip before, but with Quentin and Hannah starting school and the family having just gone on a summer vacation, she didn't agree to another trip for just the two of them. She didn't expect the elders to have everything arranged.
The moment she got off the plane, she was captivated by the scenery. Its beauty lay in the vastness of the blue sea, the crystal-clear grains of sand, the soothing blue sky and white clouds, and even the narrow paths on the wreath-like islands. Here, Madison tried diving for the first time. Matthew took her to participate in the diving activities. Seeing the underwater beauty she had never seen before, Madison was thrilled. She had always been afraid of the water, but this honeymoon trip pushed her limits and added a new challenge to her list.
When she reached the bottom, she took many photos with Matthew. As soon as they got back to their room, she sent a bunch to Gerald and Nancy. She couldn't wait to video call her two kids. In the video, Hannah and Quentin told them sweetly , "Mom, Dad, we'll listen to Grandma and Grandpa. You have fun and don't worry about us. Grandma and Grandpa will take us out to play."
"I'll help take care of Hannah. Don't worry, Mom, Dad," Quentin added.
Matthew and Madison leaned their heads together as they video-chatted with their kids. The family of four talked for over half an hour before ending the call.
After the call, Madison pulled out the suitcase, ready to grab her pajamas and take a shower. She had no idea what Nancy had packed for them, so opening the suitcase felt like opening a surprise box. When Madison opened the suitcase, she was stunned. Everything was neatly arranged: new pajamas, underwear, dresses, male board-shorts, toiletries, skincare products, everything they could possibly need. Madison was amazed by Nancy's consideration.
She took out the small bag with her pajamas and headed to the bathroom to shower. It wasn't until she was ready to put on her pajamas that she realized Nancy had packed a silk camisole nightgown with lace trim at the chest. The material was quite thin, making it semi-transparent and very alluring. After putting it on, Madison stood in front of the bathroom mirror, blushing at her reflection.
Taking a deep breath, Madison opened the bathroom door and walked out. She saw Matthew on the balcony, talking on the phone. Quickly, she dashed to the bed, covered herself with the blanket, and turned off the room lights, leaving only the dim bedside lamp on. Even though they had been married for a while, the thought of wearing such a nightgown on their honeymoon made Madison feel nervous and shy.
Matthew was on the phone with Mitchell about work. When he finished the call and turned back to the room, he was momentarily puzzled. He pondered, 'Why are the lights off?'
He thought Madison might be tired from the day's diving and didn't think much of it. He walked into the bathroom, saw the underwear prepared for him, and took a shower. After his shower, he came out with only his underwear, his hair still damp. He grabbed a dry towel to wipe his hair and then used a hairdryer to finish the job.
Madison lay on the bed with her eyes closed, her body slightly tense from nervousness. She listened to Matthew moving around, first in the bathroom, then drying his hair. Finally, she felt the mattress dip beside her as Matthew got into bed.
Once in bed, Matthew habitually pulled Madison into his arms, whispering, "Honey, are you asleep?" Madison responded softly. Matthew's hands roamed over her body as he continued, "Honey, are you wearing new pajamas? They feel so nice."
Madison blushed at his words and softly replied, "Yes, Mom prepared them." Matthew propped himself up on his hands, gently lifting the blanket. By the dim light of the bedside lamp, he could finally see Madison clearly.
His wife was wearing a cream-colored camisole nightgown, with one strap slipping off her shoulder, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of what lay beneath. Matthew couldn't help but swallow hard, his eyes bright as he hoarsely said, "Mom has great taste." Madison shyly turned her face away, unable to look at him.
Matthew gently turned Madison's head back to face him, forcing her to meet his gaze. With a smile, he continued, "But it's also because my wife is beautiful." He then leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
They looked into each other's eyes, seeing only each other. Matthew began to remove their clothes gently.
