Chapter 296 Picking Up
Mitchell leaned against the elevator wall, trapping Willow within his closest proximity. She was captivated by his enlarged features, his warm breath growing closer. Her heart raced, and she instinctively turned away, her face flushing.
"Mitchell, what are you doing?" she nervously stammered.
Mitchell advanced, his charming smile unyielding, his demeanor transformed. "How do you plan to thank me?" he inquired, his lips curling mischievously.
Avoiding his gaze, Willow suggested, "I'll treat you to a day at the water park."
Unable to contain himself, Mitchell burst into laughter. "You're always so adorable," he remarked, agreeing with a simple "Okay."
The elevator reached their floor, and Willow swiftly slipped past Mitchell, dashing out. Mitchell followed, his mood uplifted. "Take a rest. I'll have lunch delivered, and we can go to the beach later. We'll stay in today and decide where to go tomorrow," he proposed.
"Got it," Willow replied, opening her room. "I'll go in first," she said, to which Mitchell nodded, "Sure, I'll let you know when the food arrives." They both retired to their rooms.
Once inside, Willow's heart continued to race. If she spent more time with Mitchell, she feared her nerves might lead to irreversible actions.
Meanwhile, Madison and the others' plane had arrived in Horizon City. Patrick, eager to see them, had volunteered to pick them up. The group had planned to celebrate Matthew's recovered memories, but the gathering was postponed with Victor and Mitchell absent. Matthew had something to attend to in Rome. Madison had informed Rachel of their flight details, and Rachel had offered to pick them up, eager to share some news in person.
The family of four, a sight to behold, caught Patrick's eye as they walked through the airport. He greeted them warmly, his excitement palpable. "Welcome back, Matthew, Madison. Let's have dinner together tonight," he suggested.
Patrick's efforts didn't go unnoticed, and appreciative Madison accepted his invitation. Hannah and Quentin greeted Patrick, and Hannah, in her innocence, leaned in to kiss Patrick's cheek, much to his delight.
Matthew, however, intervened, advising Hannah not to be so casual with physical affection. Hannah, puzzled, questioned why she couldn't kiss Patrick, to which Matthew, with a stern expression, explained the boundaries. Hannah, still not fully understanding, sought clarification. Patrick, joining in, reinforced the rule. Hannah, content with the explanation, agreed.
As they left the airport, Madison noticed Rachel approaching, accompanied by a familiar figure.
